Mnet VJ Chrissa Villanueva to Interview the World’s Biggest K-pop Stars Live on the Red Carpet, Using Questions Submitted by U.S .Viewers

LOS ANGELES, CA – November, xx 2011 – Mnet, the only and first national, 24/7 English-language television network in the U.S. targeting Asian Americans and fans of Asian pop culture, will stream the highly anticipated 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) on their Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/MnetUSA) LIVE on Tuesday, November 29 at 5 a.m. ET / 2 a.m. PT. The live coverage will include red carpet access hosted by Mnet’s K-popVJ Chrissa Villanueva (Hello Pop!), who will ask the world’s biggest K-pop starts questions collected from U.S. fans. The award show will also air on the network, with exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes content, on Sunday, December 18 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.


The 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) will feature more than 30 acts from around the world with the biggest artists in K-pop set to descend upon the Singapore Indoor Arena for a night filled with hot performances and the hippest (sometimes eye-popping) fashion. Bands such as 2NE1, Super Junior and Girl’s Generation, as well as a slew of international talent from the United States, Japan, China, Singapore, Hong Kong and many more countries are expected.


American viewers can join in the festivities via Facebook to watch the live show and participate in real time discussions with fans around the country and trivia contests for the chance to win K-pop goodies that will be given away throughout the event. In addition, fans can submit their questions for the world’s biggest K-pop stars on Mnet Facebook and they just may hear their question asked LIVE on the red carpet.

The 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) will be broadcast LIVE to over 40 countries, giving 1.9 billion people worldwide the chance to see the biggest names in Korean pop music mingle with international talent from around the world. K-pop music is advancing beyond Asia and is on the path to becoming a global phenomenon, and the Mnet Asian Music Awards remains the only awards ceremony of its kind in the world, bringing fans the very best in Asian entertainment.
