“Running Man” spotlights Seoul’s ‘Seohyun’ station

Where is the SNSD station in Seoul’s Bundang area?

This ‘unusual’ station was featured on the May 15th episode of SBS’s “Running Man“, during the segments where the members carried out missions in pairs.

One mission in particular had the members try to puzzle out a clue given by the production crew. In order to find out where to go next, they had to solve,”Find the SNSD station in Bundang”.

Song Ji Hyo figured out the destination by looking at the map itself, while Yoo Jae Suk instantly said, “It’s Bundang’s Seohyun station” after seeing the clue. The comedian’s partner, Ji Suk Jin, praised his clever thinking by saying, “You’re really great. Do you even lack anything?“.

Netizens said, “Running Man is really brilliant” and “It’s interesting that Seohyun station even exists“.

Meanwhile, the Seohyun Subway Station posted an advertisement commemorating Seohyun’s coming-of-age Day.

SNSD’s Seohyun celebrates coming of age day

SNSD’s maknae Seohyun shared her thoughts on celebrating Korea’s coming-of-age day today.

On May 16th, Seohyun shared,

I am so happy that I have received so much interest and love even before I became an adult… I am sincerely thankful for all who have watched over me as I grew over the years and continued to congratulate me as I have become an adult.

Seohyun was born in 1991 and according to Korea, became a “real adult” this year at the age of 20. Although she’s SNSD’s maknae, Seohyun has received much love for her calmness and maturity.

Seohyun revealed her amibitions saying,

Though I am a bit embarrassed for having often shown the image of an immature child, now that I am an adult I hope to take more responsibility, continue to grow, and be more assertive.

SNSD in Singapore?

Well, not really. The 9 ladies were featured in the local Singapore teen magazine “Teenage” though.

Teenage, a local Singapore publication catering to Singapore’s teen population has dedicated the June 2011 issue to cover the K-Pop scene. The editor, Jazmin Kelly Six, was fortunate enough to be invited to cover the recent SBS Inkigayo Jeju Special, resulting in the cover story for this issue of the magazine. The trip there was made possible, courtesy of the “Visit Korea 2010-2012″ committee, an initiative of the national tourism boards of Singapore and Korea.

In her editorial, Jazmin admitted to knowing “next-to-nothing” about K-Pop, and so felt that she could give an unbiased, neutral report on the whole event. Well, at the end of the whole experience, she readily admitted to being impressed by the sheer talent of all the K-Pop artistes that performed that day and is now a true convert to the K-Pop genre. Personally, I think the close contact with our 9 “angels” had alot to do with changing her opinion of K-Pop music .

More details (covering the Girls’ performance and subsequent interview) can be found in the following scans from the magazine. Enjoy !

By the way, the editor not only managed to “snag” a front row seat to the performance show, she also got passes to the artistes’ backstage tents. How lucky is that ?!!

Billboard to Celebrate Seohyun's Coming of Age Day

May 16th marks the arrival of the Coming-of-Age day, also known as the day for a young person to move on from their adolescence and into adulthood.

Girls' Generation's Seohyun is one of the many who has officially turned into an adult. To celebrate this transition, a billboard with pictures of Seohyun has been installed at the "Seohyun Station" at Bundang. DC Inside's "We Got Married" gallery, or also known as fans of the YongSeo couple, decided on the Billboard idea and attached it since May 15th to celebrate Seohyun's adulthood.

A short congratulatory message and a number of Seohyun's pictures were chosen. This included Seohyun's SM Entertainment audition pictures, her debut pictures as well as a recent picture. A fan explained, "With permission from the photographer in charge of Girls' Generation's Marie Claire photoshoot as well as from SM Entertainment, the Billboard was installed."

A picture of the board was circulated around twitter and many are taking an interest in visiting the subway station. One commented, "There's a Seohyun board at Seohyun station? I better go see for myself."

On another note, on the most recent episode of SBS's "Running Man" which aired on May 15th, the "Seohyun Station" was featured as the "Girls' Generation station of Bundang".

What do you think of Seohyun finally turning into an adult?
