Tiffany Completes Her First Performance in 'Fame'!

On December 22nd, Tiffany made her first appearance in the musical “Fame”, where she plays Carmen Diaz, a performing arts student who dreams of becoming famous.

To commemorate this spectacular event, Tiffany’s uncle and fellow Girls’ Generation member Sooyoung sent congratulatory wreaths to help support her. The message on Sooyoung’s wreath reads, “CarMiyeong, you are always cool to your bones.” Tiffany’s uncle, who is also an assistant chief director of a hospital, sent a simple wreath saying “Congratulations to Tiffany’s musical performance.”

Confiscated Phones and Learning to Dance on the Next 'Girls' Generation and the Dangerous Boys'!

On the next episode of “Girls’ Generation and the Dangerous Boys”, the boys will be entering dorm life together. But first, they must pass inspection from Girls’ Generation members.
Girls’ Generation inspected the boys’ personal belongings for any prohibited items and confiscated cell phones and cigarettes. This brought memories back for Girls’ Generation as the members agreed, “this is similar to our trainee days.” Prior to their debut, the members also had their phones confiscated and received intense training.
In return for having their personal items taken, the boys received new phones from Girls’ Generation that are to be used to contact their mentors. Girls’ Generation showed their sense of responsibility by saying they would continue to keep in touch with the boys even if they won’t be able to see them all the time.
As if having their phones taken from them wasn’t harsh enough, the boys will have to dance to “The Boys”. They will be entering the dance competition “Street Jam”, which is where the best dancers in Korea go to show their skills.
Despite their busy schedules, Girls’ Generation members made a surprise visit to help the boys learn their intense and challenging choreography. It was the boys’ first time dancing, so Girls’ Generation put them through a “basic test”, but their dancing skills turned out to be hopeless. They have plenty of time to practice though, as the “Street Jam” competition is held on February 5th.
The next episode of “Girls’ Generation and the Dangerous Boys” will air on December 25th at 7:30pm KST on jTBC.

Girls' Generation teaches the Dangerous Boys to dance!

Girls’ Generation takes up the roles of dance teachers for the five boys from JTBC’s ‘SNSD and the Dangerous Boys’, who have taken up the challenge of the dance competition ‘Street Jam’.

In the previous episode, with the help of psychiatrist, Girls’ Generation has advised the boys to compete in ‘Street Jam’ in order to give them a common goal.

The five boys, who have never danced before, were surprised by their first mission; to participate in the dance competition.

When Girls’ Generation tested the boys for their basic dance skills, it foreshadowed the hard times ahead.

Before the actual competition, the five boys will be dancing to ‘The Boys’, the song of their mentors, in order to test their possible improvements in dancing.

It is also heard that despite their tight schedules, Girls’ Generation made a surprise visit to the boys.

Girls' Generation's First Japan Album Ranked 18th on SPIN Magazine's Top Pop Albums of 2011

It’s that time when music magazines start ranking their favorite albums of the past year, and the American publication “SPIN” magazine has released their top 20 pop albums of 2011.

“SPIN” selected Girls’ Generation’s First Japan Album as the 18th best pop album of the year. As “SPIN” writer Charles Aaron says, “This nine-member, all-girl K-Pop drill team fully exploits South Korea’s 800-pound neighboring market with a Japanese-language album (plus English choruses!). And though it may be a translation trainwreck, these chipper, reality-show vets behave with real zeal — eagerly beaming, winking, chattering, emoting when it’s called for — over terrifyingly sophisticated dance tracks (echoes of Latin Freestyle, Italo disco, every Backstreet/Britney scrap from 1999), plus a dutifully aching ballad or two. The peak is “Run Devil Run,” a white swan/black swan kiss-off with a chorus so confidently sassy it could stop a North Korean missile in mid-air.”

Girls’ Generation’s first full length album in Japan was a huge success, going double platinum, and along with their sold out arena tour, cemented Girls’ Generation as one of the more popular artists in Japan. The album was well received by critics, who praised the new direction Girls’ Generation took with an electronic, dance heavy style.

“MR. TAXI”, the lead single off the album, was incredibly popular with its catchy chorus and addictive choreography. The dance version of the music video is already approaching 40 million views on YouTube.

A repackage of the album, including remixes and a new song, will be released on December 28th. Pre-orders can be placed on YesAsia for the Limited First Press and Normal editions.
