With SNSD busily promoting in both Korea and Japan, their recent performance in Taiwan has been put on the chopping block of a Taiwanese entertainment broadcast for lip syncing.
Taiwanese entertainment channel 综艺娱乐频道 reported, “On October 17th, SNSD held their second overseas concert in Taiwan and filled the concert hall with thousands of fans. The excitement was amazing.”
However, the channel went on to report, “Unfortunately, when the cameras would get a close up on the members’ faces as they were performing one of their hit tracks, the music would continue without the members even putting the mics against their faces.”
The host had already asked for understanding in advance, reasoning that it was difficult for celebrities to dance and sing at the same time.
Representatives of SM Entertainment also expressed their disappointment with SNSD being swept in controversy for lip syncing at their Taiwanese concert.
SME stated in a call with Newsen on October 20th, “They sang over 30 songs at the concert and the overall completion level of the concert was extremely high. The audience enjoyed the concert immensely, and so we’re very disappointed in having such a controversy come about.”
Although some Taiwanese supported the girls by leaving comments such as, “It does not seem like they were lip syncing,” others commented, “It’s such a waste of money. Why would you attend the concert then? Might as well just listen to the CD.”
SNSD’s Taiwanese concert managed to garner 24,000 fans, the best record any foreign female artist has achieved thus far.

SBS E!TV’s “Tak Jae Hoon’s Style – Star Q10” will be dedicating an episode to some of the weird and sometimes incurable habits that popular stars suffer from.
The show has researched a variety of different, seemingly perfect stars and has found out a few of their habits, such as drinking, exhibitionism, shopping addictions, and a tendency to listen to and follow whatever someone says.
Actor Cha Tae Hyun was chosen as one of the stars with the worst drinking habits. The show will reveal a story of when he even went as far as to put his mother in a headlock during a drunken episode, fans who learned about this were very surprised.
SNSD’s Jessica was also revealed to have a habit of calling anyone when she is drunk and totally forgetting about it the next day. SNSD’s Taeyeon is said to have ‘cases of absent-mindedness,’ where she admitted to an episode of when she lost her phone and later found it inside the refrigerator.
The star with the addiction to pornography will be revealed through “Tak Jae Hoon Style” on October 20th at 7 PM.

A lot of controversy has surrounded the first Twitter account of an SNSD member. After opening her account only a week ago, Jessica has now officially closed it down.
Within a few days of Jessica giving into temptation and joining Twitter, her account was flagged as spam, resulting in many SONEs sending pleas to bring her back to the one site international fans could have direct communication. Early morning in Korea yesterday her account was restored briefly before being deleted permanently, leaving fans to wonder why.
To stop the rumours and questions from flowing, Jessica has officially addressed the issue herself by posting a message on her fan site Woorisica.
Did I scare you guys?! hoot*…I want to see you guys again quickly~ Let us enjoy our next promotion^^ Oh yea! About the ~twitter* honestly, I couldn’t resist the temptations and made myself one…ㅋㅋ and that happened.. Today my account was restored~ but.. since I’m technologically challenged I don’t know how to maintain it~ so I don’t think I can use it anymore ㅋㅋㅋ I decided to delete my account! Don’t worry about it~ hehe good morning ^^ hoot
It seems the Twitterverse is a little too complicated for this ice princess.
Maybe one day we’ll be able to welcome SNSD back on Twitter with open arms. Until then, check out the teaser photos and audio for SNSD’s upcoming single, Hoot.
