SNSD’s Jessica and Hyoyeon reveal they almost got into a fight

SNSD‘s Jessica and Hyoyeon admitted that they almost got into a cat fight recently.

The girls guested on December 8th’s episode of Mnet‘s ’Beatles’ Code‘, where they shared some never-before-heard stories.

Hyoyeon began, “I fought with Jessica recently. I said something really harsh because I thought she wasn’t understanding me.”

Jessica added, “We were going at each other. Then, we cried and apologized. [But] we almost got into an actual fist fight.” “I really almost hit her,” Hyoyeon said.

Fellow member Tiffany confirmed the intensity of the spat, as she explained, “They were both really scary. We were trying to hold Hyoyeon back.”

Jessica picked up the thread of the story and continued, “We slammed our room doors. We were building up our anger [separately] inside and when we came back out, we almost fought.”

The girls assured in the end, “It wasn’t something to seriously fight over. We apologized to each other while crying.”

**Jessica & Hyoyeon’s story begins at 3:15 mark**

Which SNSD member was jealous of Seohyun’s coupling with Jung Yong Hwa for ‘We Got Married’?

On December 8th, the ladies of SNSD were the guest on Mnet‘s “Beatles Code” and was asked if any member was ever jealous of another member.

To that question SNSD’s Taeyeon answered, “I was also a guest on MBC’s ‘We Got Married’ but the man I was married to was a totally different person. It’s hard to be on a variety show with friends that have similar ages so I was quite jealous of Seohyun”.

Seohyun and CN BLUE‘s Jong Yong Hwa got together as a fictional couple and were one of the most popular couples on ‘We Got Married’. They were labeled the “Sweet Potato Couple”, however, back in 2009, Taeyeon was paired up with old comedian Jung Hyung Don and they were known as the “Pudding and Jelly Couple”.

It seems Taeyeon wanted to have a husband that was young and handsome like Jong Yong Hwa. If you were on the show who would you want to be paired up with?

SNSD’s photo book tops book sales chart in Japan

The ladies of SNSD who are standing on numerous stages all across Asia have captured the hearts of their Japanese fans not only with their music, but with their appearance as well.

According to the Oricon chart, SNSD’s first Japanese photograph collection book ‘Holiday‘ seized the #1 spot on the book sales ranking chart under the photograph collection category.

The photos were a collection of the girls enjoying leisurely time off, and it sold 17,000 copies the first week after going on sale on November 30th. In overall book sales ranks, it ranked at #18.

Meanwhile, their first full-length Japanese album ‘Girls Generation‘ was released on the 6th and has sold more than 850,000 copies worldwide to date. The re-packaged album drops on the 28th and collectively they are predicted to sell over 1million copies of the album.

The girls attended Fuji TV‘s ‘FNS Music Festival‘ on the 7th, and will be rounding out the year at theNHKRed & White Singing Battle (Kohaku)‘ on the 31st.

SNSD votes Yoona as the member who eats the most

The SNSD members selected Yoona as the member who eats the most.

SNSD was on set to film the December 8th episode of Mnet’s Beatles Code, and when the girls were asked who of the nine members ate the most, all 8 of them looked towards member Yoona.

Sooyoung and Yoona prefer Korean food, but Yoona especially eats really well. She really likes the complete traditional spread of various Korean dishes,” they explained.

We eat a lot of the foods we enjoy, but we don’t eat a lot of the stuff we don’t like. We’re just like anyone else. It’s not that we don’t gain weight even if we eat a lot. That is, except Sooyoung and Yoona. They don’t seem to gain a lot of weight no matter how much they eat. Not only does Yoona not gain weight, she never even swells or gets puffy,” they added, which caused everyone on set to explode in laughter.

Meanwhile, member Yuri also shared stories in regards to her swimming talent.

Behind The Scenes of 'Girls' Generation and Dangerous Boys'

As mentioned a few weeks ago, Girls’ Generation will become mentors to troubled boys. Their tutoring and guidance will be filmed and aired on the new variety show by JTBC, “Girls’ Generation and Dangerous Boys”.

This show aims to use Girls’ Generation to help coach and solve the problems of these stubborn troublemakers, and their everyday lives will be filmed. Five boys from around the country will dorm together, and Girls’ Generation will be interacting with them in an attempt to help them change.

As such, a short behind-the-scenes of the filming has been released after the first airing of the show and fans have been voicing their admiration for Girls’ Generation’s serious attitude towards this program even though it is a reality show. Girls’ Generation is not only putting in a lot of effort to help the boys, but it is also evident that they are trying to make this process as fun as possible. In the behind-the-scenes video below, not only do the girls and their tutees look like they’re having fun, but even the staff are laughing at their funny antics.

Check out the video below and remember to check Soshified for the subbed show!

Seohyun Praised for Her Red Carpet Fashion and Manners

Fans could not hide their surprise at Seohyun’s voluptuous figure.

On the 29th of November, Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun attended the 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards in Singapore with her other members. During the red carpet event, the nine members of Girls’ Generation showed off their beautiful figures wearing dresses rather than their stage outfits.

Out of all of them, the youngest member Seohyun’s dress captured fans’ attentions. On this day, Seohyun was the only one wearing a long dress, seeming a bit unexpected. The other Girls’ Generation members either wore dresses that had waterfall-like full ends or pink-toned mini dresses, giving off a cute vibe. However, Seohyun’s long dress showed off an elegant charm.

Along with her dress, Seohyun’s red carpet attitude garnered attention. During their entire red carpet ceremony, she held her hand to where her chest line was. As the tube-top design cut deep into her chest’s “v-line”, it seemed Seohyun was uncomfortable, as she is known for living a proper life.

On Girls’ Generation’s MAMA red carpet look, fashion experts stated, “It was like Girls’ Generation. It was as if 9 princesses from medieval times gathered in one place and showed off their beauty. Their waterfall-like dress ends, mini dresses, and tube-top designs all appealed to the eyes equally. Their moderate makeup was also appropriate. Their dresses were satisfactory enough, even without other accessories.”

Also, on Seohyun’s dress they stated, “She was the only one amongst Girls’ Generation members who wore a long dress. Her long hair and long dress were harmonious, and an elegant feminine beauty was expressed. Even though she is the youngest member, Seohyun has a mature appearance. That could be seen through this red carpet event.”

Taeyeon envious of Seohyun's ex-husband

SNSD member Taeyeon blurted out her disappointment about her ex-partner in We Got Married causing laughter to the audience.

Recently, SNSD appeared as guests in Mnet's Beatles' Code and gave lively atmosphere.

One from the staff reveals that Taeyeon expressed that she's envious of fellow member Seohyun who was coupled with CNBlue's Yonghwa. She said, "There are rare opportunities to appear in these kind of show and be paired with same aged partner. I envy Seohyun because of that."

Back then, Taeyeon was paired with comedian Jung Hyung Don when she appeared in We Got Married. A husband that was unaffectionate and lazy.

Also in the episode, Yoona was picked who has the best appetite among the members. This will air on December 9, at 12 a.m.

Sunny Reunites with Pureumi on 'Invincible Youth 2'

Girls’ Generation’s Sunny garnered attention after reuniting with Greeny, the cow she met through the first season of “Invincible Youth”. It had been one year since they last met.

During the latest recording of “Invincible Youth 2″, G8 members invited villagers and other surprise guests to the opening ceremony of the idol village. Girls’ Generation’s Sunny and miss A’s Suzy were given the special mission of “ushering a special guest”, and visited Yoochiri, the site where the first season’s memories were created.

After seeing that nothing had changed in the village since the first season, Sunny showed Suzy the crops they grew themselves, and began to reminisce, also telling Suzy about the animals they cared for. In particular Sunny, couldn’t help but feel sorry to the mascot of the first season, Pureumi.

After the cow entered the idol village in the first season, Sunny became Greeny’s owner by winning a quiz segment. As if Greeny knew who her owner was, she would always listen to Sunny more than the other G7 members. On Sunny’s last day of “Invincible Youth”, she cried thinking of having to leave her. Soon after, Greeny also showed tears, showing the bond between human and animal.

Seeing her for the first time in a year, Sunny tried to coax a sulking Greeny by saying, “I’m sorry I couldn’t visit often.” It was said that Sunny personally cooked and fed Greeny her favorite cabbage, and stayed there waiting until Greeny opened up to Sunny again.

YouTube Compiles Girls' Generation Videos for New Feature

YouTube has proven to be an important force in helping spread Girls’ Generation across the world. Their music videos have tens of millions of views each: “Gee” with 59 million, “Oh!” with 45 million”, and “Run Devil Run” with 33 million, just to name a few. However, not only are their music videos popular, but many fan-made videos and TV show clips are as well. These videos have been important in spreading awareness of Girls’ Generation on YouTube, not to mention the fact that they are funny, moving and informative in their own right. It can be really hard to actually come across a lot of these videos, but a new YouTube feature has made that task much easier.

YouTube created a new feature called “Topics” where they compile videos from all over the website into something like a channel that you can subscribe to. Google, as the owner of YouTube, has recognized the growing popularity of K-Pop, and in addition to their plans to create a dedicated K-Pop channel on YouTube, they have included compilations of K-Pop videos for their new Topics feature.

Girls’ Generation has their own topic into which YouTube has compiled all the videos relating to the group. The topic shows a description of the group: “Members Hyoyeon, Jessica, Seohyun, Sooyoung, Sunny, Taeyeon, Tiffany, Yoona, and Yuri had — for the most part — been a part of Korean pop media, appearing in commercials and ads before winning places in Girls Generation and making their debut as such in the summer of 2007.”

The Girls’ Generation topic has over 133,000 videos compiled with a total of over 1.6 billion views. Not only are there hundreds of millions of views with their music videos, but the amount of videos related to Girls’ Generation is staggering.

s if that wasn’t enough, there are topics for each member of the group as well, compiling all videos of each member together. For instance, Taeyeon has over 37,000 videos with a total of over 500 million views. The same goes with Tiffany’s topic. Jessica seems to be extremely popular, with over 100,000 videos and 1 billion views for videos that are related to her. Also, each member’s “channel” has a description of her and her accomplishments. For example, Sooyoung’s description includes her time before her debut with Girls’ Generation. It says, “After winning first place in the 2002 Korea-Japan Ultra Idol Duo, Sooyoung was sent to Japan and debuted as a member of the duo Route 0, alongside Malina Takahashi.”

You can subscribe to each member as well as the group to see new videos of them on your YouTube homepage, from official videos from SM Entertainment to a fan-made compilation of Taeyeon laughing to the latest cuts of MC YulTi on “Music Core”.

Check out the Girls’ Generation topic on YouTube here, where you can also reach the rest of the members’ pages on the sidebar. The new Girls’ Generation and member topics will no doubt strengthen their fast growing popularity outside of Korea. Watching Girls’ Generation videos has never been easier.

Who were the top digital sellers in K-POP for 2011?

With 2011 counting down to a close, the industry is slowing down to look back at its achievements over the past year. Following a list of the most successful producers, Star News has followed up with a ranking of the most popular digital tracks over the past months.

The list was compiled by Olleh Music and ranks the top 50 songs this year which performed the best in the digital form. The number was determined by combining the number of downloads + the number of streams the song received on its website.

The honors for first place went to G.NA with her January title, “Black & White“. The song fared well, not only because of its early January release – which gives it a head-start advantage – but also for an easy melody that was accepted by both young and old alike.

IU also proved her title as one of this year’s hottest stars by landing three tracks on the top ten, including last year’s “Good Day” at #2 and “Someday” and “The Story Only I Didn’t Know” at #7 and #9, respectively.

Girl group T-ara also had a noteworthy year with one of this year’s most popular songs, “Roly Poly“, at #3.

The top ten was rounded out by Big Bang with “Tonight” (#4), SECRET with “Shy Boy” (#5), f(x) with “Pinocchio” (#6), CN BLUE with “Intuition” (#8), and B2ST with “Fiction” (#10).

Among the rookie groups to debut this year, Girls’ Day performed the strongest with “Twinkle Twinkle” at #11.

2NE1 also had a strong year with 4 songs on the top 50, including “Lonely“, “Don’t Cry“, “I Am the Best“, and “Ugly” at #14, 16, 22, and 39, respectively.

MBC‘s ‘Infinity Challenge’ also shook the charts with their ‘West Coast Highway Music Festival’challenge, where each member teamed up with a songwriter to pen their own duet track. Park Myung Soo and G-Dragon‘s collaboration track, “I Cheated“, landed at #20 while Yoo Jae Suk and Lee Juk‘s “Apgujeong Nallari” was positioned at #42.

Among the numerous OST (soundtrack) tracks released for dramas this year, Hyun Bin‘s “That Man” for SBS‘s ‘Secret Garden’ scored the highest (#21), apart from IU’s “Someday” which demolished the competition at #7.

Despite being heavily disadvantaged with late-year releases, both SNSD and Wonder Girls performed strongly with “The Boys” and “Be My Baby“, at #24 and #35, respectively.

Counting by individual months, the top songs for each month this year were Hyun Bin’s “That Man” (January), G.NA’s “Black & White” (February), Big Bang’s “Tonight” (March), Orange Caramel‘s “Bangkok City” (April), Sistar19‘s “Ma Boy” (May), SECRET‘s “Starlight Moonlight” (June), GG‘s “I Cheated” (July), 2NE1′s “Ugly” (August), Davichi‘s “Don’t Say Goodbye” (September), Lee Seung Gi‘s “Love Time” (October), and Wonder Girls’ “Be My Baby” (November).
