Top 5 stars who look amazing after weight-loss

Arirang’s English K-pop entertainment program, “Pops in Seoul”, recently aired a segment about the 5 top idol stars that underwent a huge transformation after their weight loss from pre-debut and childhood days. The program showcased each individual idols’ previous photos and also explained how they overcame their weight loss challenge. The top 5 stars that changed the most from weight loss were:

5. 4Minute’s Hyunah, who lost 17 kg (40 lbs) prior to her debut with the Wonder Girls. She is now famous for her waist size, and currently has a 23-inch waist.

4. SG Wannabe’s Lee Seokhoon is known as the prince of ballad and of dieting. He has since lost 35 kg (77 lbs) through intense training and boxing.

3. Super Junior’s Ryeowook, who lost 40 kg (88 lbs) during junior high school prior to his debut with Super Junior. He jump-roped 1000 times per day in order to reach his goal.

2. Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany went on a diet of 1500 calories per day. It was mentioned that she had dramatically changed since her auditions and debut with SNSD.

1. Big Bang’s TOP was diagnosed as obese in his childhood, but went through intense training and strict dieting to his current figure today.

SM artists show their support for Japan

To add to the ongoing support the world is giving to Japan, the artists of SM Entertainment recently took the time to record video messages and give their condolences to those affected by the natural disaster.

Super Junior, TVXQ, f(x) (with an appearance from the elusive Amber), SNSD, and SHINee all recorded their own personal messages. Each artist extended their prayers and support to the victims of the Japan earthquake and asked fans and the nation to join in their support.

Super Junior:

Leeteuk states that there has been a huge disaster in Japan. He asks that fans extend their prayers to Japan and to support Super Junior in supporting Japan.

SHINee:

The members state that they are very worried about the people in Japan and that SHINee wants their fans to join them in supporting the victims.

SNSD :

The members of SNSD say that we need to become one in support of Japan and that everyone should give their support to the victims.

f(x):

The members of f(x) say that now is the time to support Japan for both themselves and their fans.

TVXQ:

Yunho and Changmin say that fans that love TVXQ should join them in their support for Japan.

SM Town’s Tokyo Dome concert has been postponed

The “SM TOWN LIVE in Tokyo Special Edition” concert has been postponed due to the disasters which struck Japan on March 11th.

The concerts were supposed to be held on April 9th and 10th, but it was agreed that holding the event would not be particularly appropriate during this time.

SM Entertainment stated that as soon as they find a suitable alternative date, they would announce them for their fans. It’s safe to assume that the concert-goers, who are likely disappointed at the news, are also feeling a little relieved, as it would be difficult to celebrate and have fun during this difficult time.

The SM family extended their prayers for the victims, and expressed hope that Japan would be able recover quickly.

E-Tribe Will Not Take Immediate Actions About The Similarities Of Composition "Be Happy" and Lady Gaga's "Born This Way"

We reported before about the allegation to Lady Gaga's song "Born This Way" plagiarizing SNSD's "Be Happy". Many fans commented "Does Lady Gaga know SNSD?", "It's similar yes but not intentionally" and "They both copy the notes and chords from Express yourself by Madonna!".

E-Tribe's Ahn Myungwon who composed "Be Happy" responded to this issue and said “The plagiarism allegation had been brought up by many people and it can be seen everywhere. However, we have no immediate plans on this. Honestly, the flow and arrangement of the songs are similar. I have since talked and gathered opinions from fellow experts. There were divided opinions on this as there were intricate portions of the song that make it difficult to support the allegation. Thus, we plan to respond to this matter calmly”

He also added "I do feel that there are similarities. The way the song flows and the arrangements are, honestly, the same. I am currently working to get in contact with Lady Gaga’s publishing label to find further information."

But this major allegation needs to asses furtherly and to confirm more about the case, Ahn Myungwon said Ahn added, "My opinion has not changed. I still think that Gaga’s new song is similar to mine. I will take my time and a step-by-step approach to assess this problem."

SM Artists Push Back Upcoming Japan Concert

A concert featuring all of SM Entertainment’s artists, originally set to take place at the prestigious Tokyo Dome in Japan next month, has been postponed until further notice.

Through a message on its official Japanese website, SM announced Wednesday that they will push back the “SMTOWN LIVE in TOKYO SPECIAL EDITION” concert, scheduled for April 9 and 10, in consideration of Japan being engaged in various post-quake recovery efforts.

SM also said they plan to notify fans of the refund policy and revised schedule on their Japanese and mobile website as soon as they are decided on, while adding their artists and actors are “praying for the fast recovery and stability of quake-stricken areas.”

SM has already donated one billion won, equivalent to about 890,000 U.S. dollars, to the Asian nation grappling with the aftermath of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami that has left at least 21,000 people dead or missing and thousands homeless.

SM, founded by former singer Lee Soo-man in 1995, is one of the most influential entertainment agencies in Korea alongside YG and JYP Entertainment, well known for raising popular singers that date back to the times of H.O.T. and S.E.S. in the late 90s.

They currently manage the careers of some of the most successful K-pop artists including TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, SHINee and f(x).
