‘Genie’ grants you strength


On a recent Japanese show broadcast, Professor Sawaguchi Toshiyuki from Hokkaido University stated that SNSD’s ‘Genie’ MV could send a signal to the brain to cheer up the viewers.

Famous comedians and experts in various fields appeared on a Japanese program aired recently called ‘Let’s Give Energy to Japan’. During the broadcast, Professor Sawaguchi said, “SNSD’s ‘Genie’ from Neuroscience point of view, has the ability to cheer a person up. Because of their long arms and legs and also the perfect synchronicity, watching their performance is good for the brain”.

He added, “Also, because of the level of amplitude of their voices suits the brain well, it has the effect to encourage a person”. He further explained, “As most of SNSD’s dance steps involve arms and legs, it also helps one to acquire a clear mind”.

After his final answer to the question from the panels about the benefit of SNSD’s dances to the mental health, the professor stated, “However among them, ‘Genie’ is the best for brain growth as well as providing the ‘cheering’ effect”.

Professor Sawaguchi states ''SNSD helps in developing the brain''


Professor Sawaguchi from Hokkaido University appeared on a Japanese show recently and announced, "From a brain study point of view, ‘Tell Me Your Wish (Genie)’ by Girls' Generation has an effect that cheers people up."

Also, he added "Girls' Generation has long arms and legs that are perfectly symmetrical, which is good for the brain even by just watching their performances.

Furthermore, he said "Their mid-range tone (of voice) is just about perfect for the brain, and has an effect of cheering people up. Most of Girls' Generation’s dances emphasize on mostly the hands and legs, so dancing along also helps develop the brain".

Lastly, he answered ‘yes’ when the other panels asked him, "Do all of Girls' Generation’s dances help with developing the brain?", and stated his opinion that "Out of all the songs, 'Tell Me Your Wish (Genie)' helps with brain development and cheering people up the most".

When netizens heard this, they stated "This group scientifically cheers up people", "Should I dance to Girls' Generation songs whenever I'm depressed?", showing interest to Professor Sawaguchi's opinion.

SNSD has proved that their beauty, indeed, excels even without the use of fancy outfits and photoshop.

The girls were recently featured in pictures with stylist Kim Woori, which he uploaded on Twitter.

The lucky stylist took pictures with the idols, giving off friendly vibes. The girls pulled off the ‘minimalist look’, only wearing a simple white T-shirt and a black skirt. Their beauty still shone through though, and Kim Woori made many fans laugh by posing shyly next to the beloved idols.

SNSD to donate “MR. TAXI / Run Devil Run” revenue for Japanese Disaster Relief


SNSD / Girls’ Generation will be donating a portion of their revenue from their upcoming April 27th Japanese single, “MR.TAXI/ Run Devil Run” to Japan’s Red Cross in order to provide assistance to the victims of the tragic earthquake.

The members of SNSD along with the staff members are all wishing that the victims who were effected by the disaster can go back to their original peaceful life as soon as possible.

In an online community recently, Taeyeon’s graduation photos were revealed. In the pictures, you can see her photos from elementary school times to middle and high school pictures.

These pictures were taken before Taeyeon’s SNSD debut, so she still has some “baby fat” in her cheeks, creating a very cute and “round” look.

Sunny and YoonA recorded SBS ‘Running Man’


On April 4, Sunny and YoonA recorded SBS ‘Running Man’.

‘Running Man”s Jo HyoJin PD, stated on April 5th, ”If Park Yejin were to provide a family-like atmosphere, then SNSD made all the male members happy because they are idols.”

In the first corner, “Find The Guests”, the rules were changed. Instead of the members searching for the guests, Sunny and YoonA had to find the members. The exchange of roles between the members and guests promises more excitement and flavors to the show.

In the next corner, a psychological warfare broke out between YoonA, Sunny, and Song Jihyo. They will be put in 3 separate teams. Furthermore, there will also be love lines during the games.

Jo Hyojin PD stated, “Not only Song Joongki, but also Gary was also strongly affected by SNSD. Unlike the male members, who were all excited, Song Jihyo seemed to be alert all the time. We finished the recording on a happy note”.

This much anticipated episode of ‘Running Man’ will be aired on April 17th.

‘Mr.Taxi’ drives SM stocks uphill


After the massive earthquake in Japan, the price of SM’s share was on a downward trend. However, since the past 2 days, it has been gaining back some tremendous momentum.


On April 5th, SM’s stock, rose by 6.35% (1,150won) and closed at 19,250 won. Today’s trading volume increased by almost twice, from 740,000 shares (yesterday) to 1.27 million shares.


Massive influx of buyers was reported at Samsung Securities, Kiwoom Securities, Daewoo Securities, NH Investment Securities and other domestic securities.


Due to the massive earthquake in Japan on March 11th and following concerns and speculations that Korean Wave may come to its end after the quake, SM’s shares plunged from 20,000 won per unit to 16,000 won per unit.


However, as the month of April kicked off, SM’s shares showed some positive signs where it rose 4% yesterday and 6% today, closing near to 20,000 won. The recovery was mainly due to the recent announcement of the release of SNSD’s Japanese single ‘Mr. Taxi’.


According to SM Japan, HMV and other music sites, SNSD’s 3rd Japanese Single ‘Mr.Taxi’ will make its entrance to the market on April 27th.

Stylist Kim WooRi revealed photos of him and SNSD during a recent photoshoot through his personal Twitter account.

In the photos, Kim WooRi who was surrounded by the girls, posed with a bright smile carved on his face. The girls who were clad in white t-shirts and black skirts displayed their eye-catching beauty, although the concept and style for the photoshoot was rather simple.
