Hyoyeon Chosen as Asian Ambassador for Topshop Hong Kong

Hyoyeon was recently chosen as the newest Asian ambassador for the Hong Kong branch of Topshop, a popular women’s fashion brand. The news was revealed on both the company’s official Facebook pageand Instagram account. Topshop released various new pictures of Hyoyeon modeling its clothing while also revealing specifically in one caption, “Check it. Kim Hyoyeon looking sleek as an Asian ambassador for our opening June 6th!”

To go along with the new pictures, two short interviews with Hyoyeon were also released by Apple Daily, a Hong Kong publication.

Apple Daily: Why did you decide to work together today?

Hyoyeon: It’s probably because of my fickle and lively image. I can be sexy, cool, luxurious, boyish and simple, which is similar to the styles Topshop has.

Apple Daily: What products have you bought from Topshop?

Hyoyeon: Every time I go to Japan I’ll purposely go to Topshop Tokyo to shop. I like buying jewelery the most, especially large pieces that are almost on the verge of funky.

Apple Daily: How are Korean girls better in their dressing?

Hyoyeon: They seldom wear sexy clothes, and all love carrying big handbags as well as wearing scarves. The whole appearance is mostly simple.

Apple Daily: Do you like Hong Kong guys?

Hyoyeon: Haha, I still haven’t come across many. However, Hong Kong guys are more fashionable. For example, some Korean guys dress in a more feminine style, whereas Hong Kong guys know how to dress well. They have a bit more fashion sense.

Hyoyeon also took part in another short interview to introduce herself as the new ambassador for Topshop. She first greeted viewers in Chinese and then went on to say, in Korean, “Whether because of our concept or activities, I went to Topshop in Japan a lot. Whenever I go, I like the jackets a lot and what I especially buy a lot are accessories, since I really like fancy accessories. I like such accessories a lot, and for makeup, I buy a lot of gel-liner. What else is there…so whenever I have the time I always make sure to stop by at Topshop and buy pretty clothes.”

Fans Commemorate Yoona’s Birthday with a Poem in a Newspaper and Volunteer Work

In commemoration of Yoona’s birthday on May 30th, fans of Girls’ Generation placed an advertisement in a newspaper featuring a poem. The poem reads:

“Do you believe in miracles? We do! Girls’ Generation’s Yoona is our miracle. Our miracle will live on as long as the beautiful you stays with us.”

Girls’ Generation’s fans also came together to perform volunteer work at a citizen’s center in Seoul.

Like a Fish in Water: Sooyoung Receives Praise for Her Acting in ‘Dating Agency; Cyrano’

Like a fish in water.

Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung is like one in tvN’s Monday/Tuesday drama, “Dating Agency; Cyrano”. After ambitiously trying her hand at acting last year in the tvN drama, “The Third Hospital”, Sooyoung showed minuscule presence amongst prominent actors. She also acted as a patient in a coma, not really giving viewers a chance to evaluate her acting. However, Sooyoung took on a title role with Lee Jonghyuk, and accepted the opportunity to properly prove her acting.

While she did take over the position of a lead role, the burden that came with it was probably immense because her opposing lead role is Lee Jonghyuk, who has a reputation as a good actor. Along with having to win over past displays of the Gong Minyoung character in a film, Sooyoung probably had to swallow comparisons between actress Park Shinhye and herself. However, the results exceeded expectations. Sooyoung melted into a cheerful and animated character without much difficulty, completely different from the character in the film.

There weren’t excessive emotions or overdone expressions that commonly appear in acting newcomers, and there are mainly positive assessments about her, such as having stable dictation. Along with her actions of falling backwards in the first episode, her acting like a tipsy drunkard wasn’t awkward. Sooyoung, who received assessments for her reserved acting in

“The Third Hospital”, has now stretched as much as she wanted through “Dating Agency; Cyrano” and is receiving positive evaluations along with showing her potential as an actress.

The Gong Minyoung in the drama is more empowered than in the movie. The romance between her and Seo Byunghoon (played by Lee Jonghyuk), which didn’t stand out in the film, is a major plot in the drama, and Gong Minyoung is responsible for the aggravation of conflict early on. This conflict came about in the episode that aired on May 28th. At the end of this episode, unlike the Gong Minyoung who felt veracity and doubt in manipulated love, she is shown acting in ways unlike the official operations of the Cyrano Agency.

To this, Seo Byunghoon declared to Gong Minyoung, “You’re out of Cyrano Agency,” leading her into a state of crisis. The drama “Dating Agency; Cyrano” is in episode form, spotlighting the process of clients who come to Cyrano Agency, attaining love. Aside from that, a main point will also be romanticist Gong Minyoung, who dreams of honest love, decreasing the gap between herself and Cyrano Agency’s creation of love through manipulation.

With this, Sooyoung’s tasks will become even more tremendous.

With the cute and cheerful image Sooyoung built through Girls’ Generation, she expresses how lovable Gong Minyoung is in “Dating Agency; Cyrano” well and is livening up the charms of a romantic comedy with the bubbly nature of a young lady in her 20′s. However, the future is what’s important. The romance with Lee Jonghyuk, overcoming a 16 year age difference in real life, and the detailed change in emotion through it, amongst other things, are all a pile of tasks that Sooyoung must overcome. To see if Sooyoung will be able to show her strength to pull the drama forward until the end after having a positive start, it is necessary to give attention to “Dating Agency; Cyrano”.

The fashion brand teased fans about who their newest ambassador could possibly be through a pair of photos. However, the answer was obvious as Hyoyeon was dazzling even behind a blur and from a distance. TOPSHOP Hong Kong then released a photo of her posing with TOPSHOP gear,writing, "Big reveal! You guessed it! @topshop asian ambassador Kim Hyoyeon looking cute here! @watasiwahyo #topshophk #topshop #girlslovetopshop #fashion #cute #korean #girlsgeneration #kimhyoyeon".

Their Facebook was also updated to include Hyoyeon in the header as theywrote, "Check it. Kim Hyoyeon looking sleek as an Asian ambassador for our opening June 6th!"

Sooyoung chosen as one of the 100 muses for ‘W Korea’

Currently representing ‘DOUBLE-M’ fashion bags, Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung has been chosen as one of the 100 muses for fashion magazine ‘W Korea’.

‘W Korea’ recently released their 100th anniversary issue titled ‘100 Brands, 100 Goddesses’, with Girls’ Generation Sooyoung involved in one of the photo shoots. It shows Sooyoung in a mysterious mood carrying a cool blue colored bag under ‘DOUBLE-M’ brand. 

Sooyoung’s full photo shoot can be viewed in the June issue of ‘W Korea’, while BTS video footage can be viewed through DOUBLE-M’s official website and Facebook page.

Girls’ Generation visits member Sooyoung on the set of her drama

Girls’ Generation members visited the drama set of tvN’s ‘Dating Agency: Cyrano’ to show their support for fellow member Sooyoung.

Taeyeon shared a photo (above) on her personal instagram with the captions, Our Sooyoungie who is working hard until late. Lee Jong Hyuk-nim. The atmosphere at the filming location is good too Dating Agency Cyrano jjang #GongMinyoung.”

The photo shows Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon, Tiffany, Seohyun posing cutely with fellow member Sooyoung and actor Lee Jong Hyuk, who both starring in ‘Dating Agency: Cyrano’.

Lee Jong Hyuk also posted a photo (below) on Twitter and wrote, “After an evening visit from cousins, another visit from a surprise, supporting guest… due to staff members shouting, I knew whose birthday it was…ㅋ thanks^^.”
