Yuri and Tiffany look lovable in their Chuseok hanboks

Girls' Generation's Yuri and Tiffany join the string of celebrities posting pretty pictures of themselves in traditional hanboks for Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving)!

On September 17, Yuri wrote on Instagram, "Captain of Chuseok presents, elders particularly like."  She uploaded a three-set picture of herself with additional words, "Thanksgiving Day Full Moon gift set.  Men and women of all ages would like."

In the pictures, Yuri looks very pretty and cute in her pastel-colored hanbok.  From her sitting position and the downward angle of the camera, she almost looks like a blossoming flower as she cups her small face with her hands.

In Tiffany's collage of selcas shared through UFO Town, the Girls' Generation member looks just as cute as Yuri, but she also shows a more elegant side in some of the pictures.  The bottom right picture looks like Tiffany is ready for some rice cakes!

Netizens showed favorable responses, saying they look really nice in their hanboks and wishing to see all the Girls' Generation members likewise dressed in hanboks for Chuseok.

Sunny send Chuseok greetings through her Hanbok selcas

Following her fellow members Seohyun, Sooyoung, Yuri and Tiffany, it's time for Sunny  to send her Chuseok greeting while wearing Hanbok.

Along with her 'Hanbok' selcas, Sunny wrote on her instagram account,

"Foreign daughter-in-law has arrived to give you Chuseok greetings~ mother-in-law, father-in-law! have an abundant hangawi♥ #chuseok #hanbok I'll  hope that you have a relaxing hangawi, where you can talk with family or someone you love under the fullmoon^^*".

Note: Hangawi also means Chuseok.

‘NYLON’ Magazine’s October Issue Features Tiffany for an Interview and Photoshoot

tiffnylon1
NYLON: Korea’s now getting chilly, but Bali’s as hot as ever.
Tiffany: This is my first time coming here, but it’s nice because it’s a leisure schedule. This is almost my last individual photoshoot schedule right before promotions start, and I probably shouldn’t say this, but today feels most like a ‘vacation’.
NYLON: You do well in photoshoots and have done a lot too. Today’s shoot was unlike usual ones, smiling less with a haughty concept. How was it?
Tiffany: I didn’t think I’d be doing the shoot with a bobbed hairstyle, but it was fresh and fun. Because it’s the first time having that hair in a while, I think my fans will like it. It’s fun viewing the wig collection that was prepared as well.
tiffnylon2
NYLON: You give a lot of your opinions during photoshoots, right?
Tiffany: I’ve always taken part in the planning for photoshoots I’ve done thus far. I’ve also taken part in it for shoots in a different medium, and I really like these processes. When working on photoshoots, giving an opinion through another person is different from me, personally, adding on my senses to express things, right? I actually have thoughts of wanting to do styling, myself, in the future. While I did do some styling when doing unit activities, I think it would be nice to show it through photoshoots too.
NYLON: What kind of style are you wanting to show through a photoshoot?
Tiffany: I’ve totally been into the movie, ‘The Great Gatsby’, lately. I liked it so much when I first watched it, I watched it six times from start to finish. The styling in the movie is really like art! So I wondered how it would be to do a photoshoot with the 1920s as the background. It would be better if the theme was ‘The Great Gatsby’.
tiffnylon3
NYLON: When watching the news, one day you’re in Korea, another in the U.S., and another day in Hong Kong. Just how often do you go overseas?
Tiffany: In a week, I’m overseas for about 5 days, and in Korea for 2. I didn’t count how many times I’ve been on a plane because it was troublesome, but when my parents saw the passports and ticket stubs I’ve saved, they get surprised and ask, “How many are there?” I had over 40. But, what’s really funny is that those were only the ones that I saved from February to May. Haha.
NYLON: You go around the entire world. Where’s your favorite place?
Tiffany: I think it can only be LA. Because before I came to Korea, that was my home and all my family members are there. When I go home to LA, all of my family gets together, and my room is still there. To be honest, I’ve been working close to 10 years and when I’m alone in Korea, it doesn’t feel like I’m at home. Of course, when I’m with my members at the dorm, it does feel like home.
tiffnylon4
NYLON: When we don’t see you in Korea, during that time, you often had concerts overseas. Aren’t you exhausted, physically?
Tiffany: I think I really have the physique of a performer. The others are amazing as well. To be honest, it’s not easy moving in the morning when doing a tour and preparing for a concert, but I’m always in a good condition. It’s to the point where my members occasionally say, “How is she in that physical state in the morning?” Even during rehearsals, while I could warm up slowly, I adamantly say to do one more song, surprising my members.
NYLON: Do you normally have good physical health?
Tiffany: I’m a corpse when I’m not doing a concert. (laughs) When I’m all tired and exhausted, if there’s a concert or practice, I’m the type to drink coffee or an energy drink and say, “Go!” So, in a few words, I have the physique of a performer?
tiffnylon5
NYLON: What do you tend to do with leftover time?
Tiffany: Other people watch a lot of TV, but I don’t watch as much TV. If I do, I keep up with music programs. The reasons why I watch music shows are because I need to know what’s popular these days, and because I have an interest in directing, there is a lot to see. Also, I try to make sure to watch dramas or variety shows my members are in. I watch ‘Dancing 9’ with Yuri and Hyoyeon without fail. Oh yeah, I don’t really watch dramas, but one I watched the original broadcast was ‘That Winter, The Wind Blows’.
NYLON: Because of Jo Insung?
Tiffany: That’s right. Because of him! You don’t know how much I kept up with the broadcast. I would tell all the other members to move and held onto the remote control. I normally never do that.
tiffnylon7
NYLON: Now that I think about it, your birthday passed not too long ago. Now that you’re in your mid-20s, are there any worries you’ve been getting, unlike before?
Tiffany: I think I worry most about my group. We’ve gotten more individual time and because all of our physical health and conditions differ, I wonder what we can do to pull out our best. Simply, if in the past, everything was good; now, everyone’s health isn’t like how it was in the past, so…
NYLON: Haha, that’s true. Because Girls’ Generation ages too.
Tiffany: That’s right. In the past, because we didn’t ride the plane much, we could reserve our strength. But nowadays, that’s not the case, so we have to allot our strength so I worry about those things. Like, ‘What do we have to do for Girls’ Generation to give their best?’
tiffnylon8
NYLON: Getting older, do you feel yourself maturing?
Tiffany: I do, a lot. Before, when I would do photoshoots with mature concepts with my members, it didn’t seem to really suit us. I guess it came out really young girl-like? But lately, along with our attitudes because everyone has matured, those appearances don’t look awkward.
NYLON: You’ll be busy when you start activities in Korea again. Is there anything you want to do before then?
Tiffany: I want to vacation in Europe. Not one or two days, but for a little longer. But no matter how much I think about it, because of schedules, I don’t think it’d be easy to do within this year. Even more so with activities coming up. Though I’m sad, satisfying my fans is also something I want to do, so I think it will be okay to postpone my Europe trip a bit.

‘Magazine M’ Interviews Taeyeon and Seohyun for ‘Despicable Me 2′

201309041927592710_1

How did you interpret Margo and Edith?

Taeyeon: I tried not to be different from the previous movie. I took out playfulness because Margo is a reliable first child. I just acted like me. Something like a simple and composed older sister.
Seohyun: Edith is a little brat and a punk, just like a boy. The fact that she is so playful makes her similar to me. I get really playful when I’m with a close unnie or friends. My facial expression turned into that of a brat when I was recording.
Wasn’t it hard acting out Margo, who was in love for the first time?
Taeyeon: I acted very blankly, using my experience of falling in love. Honestly, Antonio is not my type. Margo had many changes of emotions this time, so I had a variety of emotions to act out.
Is a boyfriend like Antonio not acceptable?
Seohyun: I’m sorry, but he is totally not acceptable. I don’t really like the greasy type. I wish he didn’t talk like that too.
Taeyeon: I wish his eyes had a bit more focus. They’re always so blank.
magazinem1

What directions did the audio director give?

Taeyeon: He asked me to be a bit more cheerful because there were times when I sounded too mature.
Seohyun: I sometimes sounded too young when trying to act Edith’s young voice. Every time I did that, the director asked me to get a bit older. It was comfortable and familiar working with the director because he was the same director from the previous movie.
Seohyun could take the youngest, Agnes’, voice.
Seohyun: I really wanted to. I can do a really good job. I want to actually have the cute Agnes as my sister. But I like Edith too.
Did you feel any attraction to the profession of a voice actor after you’ve tried it?
Seohyun: I actually wanted to be a voice actor since I was young. It’s a charming profession. I actually tried dubbing for variety shows along with other voice actors because I liked the job so much.
Taeyeon: I am interested in everything that has to do with vocals. I did want to try voice acting, but as I worked, it was hard synchronizing and there was a lot to be concerned with. I also think it will be hard interpreting different characters if I actually become a voice actor.
magazinem2

How did you prepare for the dubbing?

Taeyeon, Seohyun: We went and watched the previous movie to get into the feel. We were really good. It was a bit more burdensome.
How did you feel listening to your voices through the screen?
Seohyun: It was fun. I had no idea how it would be like because I recorded it separately (translator’s note: from the other voice actors), but it was fascinating to actually see the character in the whole movie.
Taeyeon: It was the same for me too. Honestly, there were a lot of parts where I was not happy with my work, because I didn’t know how the other voice actors would be linked to my voice.
What was the most memorable line?
Taeyeon: ‘I am Margo.’ Margo just blankly repeated this line no matter what Antonio said, because she fell for him.
Seohyun: The line I say to her after seeing Antonio. ‘I can say this first right? Yuck!’
What was the most difficult aspect?
Taeyeon: I had to scream in surprise after seeing a minion, and that was hard. I moved to the back of the recording studio and screamed for no reason. I imagined I was on a ride in an amusement park.
Seohyun: Coughing. I had to hint at Margo but it was hard to do it with a changed voice. The volume had to be loud, I couldn’t make it too childish. It was hard in many ways.
Where was the most fun part?
Taeyeon, Seohyun: When the minions came out!
magazinem3

What are the charms of the minions?

Taeyeon: When the minions sing in the end, they sing something with the lyrics that say ‘stinky’. That’s the point. They roll around in the grass while singing and they’re really cute. Their language, which you don’t understand but get the gist of it, is also interesting.
Seohyun: They have the charms that you get from a pet. They are like a friend because they don’t always listen, and I think I wouldn’t be lonely with them. I would like the minions with two eyes if possible.
It has been said that you dubbed one of the smaller roles in the movie. What kind of character was it?
Taeyeon: The hostess lady in the restaurant that Gru went to to have his blind date. I say, ‘One moment’, with a greasy voice. I dubbed the character because the director recommended it, and I wasn’t upset by the fact that it was a lady. I was more comfortable with that character.
Seohyun: I was the bad redhead in Gru’s flashback. When the Gru pokes Lisa, the girl he likes, in order to confess his feelings for her, she screams, ‘Gru poked Lisa! Lisa is going to get cooties!!’ I totally changed my voice for it.
What do you think is the reason that ‘Despicable Me’ is so successful?
Seohyun: I get a ‘happy virus’ after watching the movie. It takes us back to our childhood, and it’s a movie that makes you laugh when you’re tired.
Taeyeon: It has a plot that a variety of age groups can relate to.
As a singer, please rate the minions’ vocal skills.
Taeyeon: They have a slight vibration that quivers. It sounds like Jung Hyungdon oppa’s low quality vibrations.
Seohyun: The have a unique vibration and a really charming voice. It has an addictive aspect to it.
If there is a ‘Despicable Me 3′, would you dub it?
Seohyun: I have a lot of attachment to it. It’s a movie that makes you happy. I would definitely like to do the next movie.
Taeyeon: I would definitely do the next movie too. I love the music, and it’s a movie that has many charming aspects to it. I’d like Margo to have more scenes. Our member Tiffany is a huge fan of ‘Despicable Me’, and she is really envious of us.

‘Harper’s Bazaar’ Magazine Interviews Jessica and f(x)’s Krystal

jungsisharper1

Jessica and Krystal, who sang and danced to music with different rhythms, focused on one rhythm. With just their eyes, the two of them would read each other and drew one another in. Complete as one like that, they seemed relentless and unafraid and were distinctly beautiful.

Jessica: The two of us haven’t done a rugged image photoshoot together before. My younger sister and I like this type of feeling, but Girls’ Generation has a pretty image, and because my sister is too young to take on this appearance, we couldn’t do it. Also, even though I appear edgy and sharp, please make sure to let people know that I’m not like that in real life. My fans probably know already, but I’m a ‘heodang’. Heodang. (translator’s note: a “heodang” is someone who is odd in their own way.)
I wondered if I should believe these words as is. This is because I couldn’t find a gap in Jessica, skillfully leading the photoshoot. Having debuted 7 years ago, like on stage, she overwhelmed the attention on set with her professional appearance.
jungsisharper2

Jessica: I was afraid of photoshoots at first. Because I’m shy and not a model, poses were difficult. Now, the attention of the camera feels comfortable. I’ve learned what appearances look pretty and which don’t. I didn’t have many talents and had a bashful personality, but I tried to become more enthusiastic through this work. Doing that, the way I treat people changed, and I’ve gained the ability that’s not much of an ability, to talk like this to people I meet for the first time. (laughs)

Krystal, who called the completed photoshoot partnered with her sister the ‘Jung sisters’ deviation’, worried about their mother’s response. Honestly, looking at her excited facial expression, it looked like she was kind of looking forward to it, more than worrying.
Krystal: I think my mom will say, ‘Isn’t that a bit strong, do a gentler (translator’s note: photoshoot)next time.’ While she does like a cool appearance on stage or screen, she likes seeing my sister or I eating something tastily or playing without worrying about work more. My mom also occasionally says that she didn’t think that we would become singers and act.
As the years went by, the sisters who shyly danced to S.E.S. songs in front of a home video camera when they were younger have become singers and have also gone through initiations for acting. Now, various modifiers support their existence. Early this year, Jessica ended the musical, ‘Legally Blonde’, and Krystal is filming the drama ‘Heirs’, which is about the love and friendships of upperclass, high school students.
jungsisharper3

Krystal: Through this drama, I don’t think I’ll be showing a new me or a big transformation. My character is an unruly girl, like average high schoolers, is really warm-hearted, and gets jealous. But that doesn’t mean I’m disappointed. Because I’m 20, I think that I have a lot of opportunities to do new things, even if they don’t happen now.

The entertainment industry is currently overflowing with versatile idol singers. Of them, Jessica and Krystal are like special beings. Though the two, who have showed their skills of being able to melt into any stage, haven’t promoted together, the combination sufficiently makes you anticipate it. You can tell by just looking at today’s photoshoot. The synergy effect the two create with their harmonies is quite something, as they can also draw out delight from the public on their own. During the shoot, while sitting with her back leaning against her, Krystal looked blankly at her older sister, Jessica. There won’t be a reliable wall, or a large door, that guides her in the world like her older sister.
Krystal: When I’m with my sister, there’s nothing in the world that I’m afraid of. When I was a trainee, or when I attended school, I really felt reassured because my sister was there. I didn’t know my sister would have this much aegyo (cuteness). I first found out when I saw her active in Girls’ Generation. (laughs)
jungsisharper4

Jessica doesn’t want to become a wall that traps her sister, who is 5 years younger than her, but rather a tree that she can lean on.

Jessica: I always just thought she was a young child, but she has a really nice body and a tough charm. I never even imagined that she would have that side to her. Even so, I always worry. Like if she would do well in this line of work. At shoots like today, Girls’ Generation members may do things well on their own, but I tend to show concern for my younger sister. While working, there can’t always only be good things, so there are times when I get upset. I want to interfere and clarify things myself. Because we’re in the same line of work, there are some things that I lean on my sister for, so I’m thankful. I can share things that I can’t tell just anyone, and I think she’s my best friend right now.
Krystal, who debuted when she was 16 years old, has turned 20 this year. While she has become the age to help her older sister with her troubles, rather than being happy about becoming an adult, she sighs.
Krystal: Ah, I’m already 20. I don’t like how time is going by so fast either. If you look at it one way, it seems like I spent my years before turning 20 specially, but when I think about it, that’s not necessarily the case. If I wasn’t doing what I do now, I might have wanted to hurry and become an adult, but right now, it feels like I’ve learned too many things.
jungsisharper5

Though Krystal is a 20 year old girl who wouldn’t be awkward whining, she’s also an idol who debuted 4 years ago. She spent almost half of her teen years as a f(x) member, and, regardless of age amidst that, she dreamed and gained a resolute attitude and confidence as to what she wants to do.

Krystal: While the road I have to go along from now on is long, and I lack in areas, I do have some greed in wanting f(x) to be acknowledged for our musical color. Our music has a lot of aficionados, but I want to let people who don’t listen [to our music] because it’s convoluted know that there are various kinds of music in the world.
Thanks to her personality of not changing herself or preferences greatly, Krystal wasn’t swayed to the fast changes and flow of the entertainment industry. Trying to find her own rhythm, taking a step away from the center of the entertainment and finding composure, Jessica seems to be just like any other person, yet is different, and has been retaining an inherent color, receiving love from anyone. If their names are called together, rather than individually, that good energy will increase and draw in a greater joy. Before leaving the studio, Krystal added one more thing.
Krystal: People say my sister and I are really different, but there probably is a similarity as we are sisters. Looking alike yet different, while being similar, is a charm as well.
