SNSD recently performed their Japanese version of "The Boys" on the popular Japanese variety show Fuji TV's "Hey Hey Hey". However, the girls have been criticized for bad pronounciation which became quite the talk among the netizens.
On December 19th, SNSD performed the song on the Christmas Special of the show. As soon as the group finished their performance, MC and comedian Hamada Masatoshi jokingly said, "I have no idea what they are saying".
Upon hearing the unexpected comment, the other guests could not hide their uncomfortable faces, and the other MC Matsumoto Hitoshi immediately moved to next subject.
Japanese netizens commented, "You guys should study up on Japanese more" and "I hope this will be a good lesson", while Korean netizens came to the girls’ defense saying, "Let's try to understand our Korean artists, who are probably having a hard time in a foreign land".
“Freestyle” will be released on December 20th, “Freestyle Football” on December 21st, and “Freestyle2″ on December 22nd, with each game featuring three characters.

On December 15th, JCE chose Girls’ Generation as the models for their representative bundled game brand, “Freestyle Sports”, for this winter. They will begin official marketing activities by releasing Girls’ Generation characters.
By taking the first attempt at star marketing in the gaming world working with girl groups, JCE chose Girls’ Generation for this winter’s “Freestyle Sports” brand, which will include “Freestyle”, “Freestyle Football”, and “Freestyle2″.
Three members of Girls’ Generation will be released for each game, becoming the faces of “Freestyle Sports”. There will also be online and offline promotions to spread the name of “Freestyle Sports”.
JCE representative Song Insoo stated, “The Freestyle series has held their place as Korea’s representative online sports game with soccer and basketball genres. We thought it would coincide with Korea’s national girl group, Girls’ Generation. Also, as ‘Freestyle Sports’ and Girls’ Generation both have a great amount of male fans, we think it will cause a good synergy effect.”
With the upcoming release of Girls’ Generation characters, starting on the 15th, an event will be held called “Guess which Girls’ Generation member will appear in which game!” The event will be held on the “Freestyle“, “Freestyle Football“, and “Freestyle2” homepages at the same time, and fans will have to guess which members will appear in which game. They will be able to take part by leaving comments on the pages accordingly, and the winner, who will be drawn at random, will win a “Girls’ Generation character”.
A teaser video was also released for an upcoming CF for “Freestyle Sports”. The teaser shows scenes from the filming of the CF featuring Girls’ Generation members participating in various sports. Check out the teaser below.
It has been revealed that SNSD member Jessica has been offered for a role for the upcoming drama "Wild Romance".
On December 19th, the production homepage for the drama revealed a character list showing Jessica's photo in the space marked for a character named Kang Jong Hee. She is strongly considered to play the first love of male lead Lee Dong Wook.
However, the producers are cautious to confirm Jessica’s participation. They stated, "Negotiations are currently underway yet. We’re still discussing the matter". The producers continued, "We are confirming the cast within the week and will make an announcement once we have the final details. We are talking to Jessica’s management to work on the scheduling, but we cannot confirm her for the role."
KBS 2TV upcoming drama "Wild Rose" is set to begin airing on January 4, 2012.
On December 19th, the ‘Hey Hey Hey!’ Christmas Special broadcasted on Japan’s Fuji TV, gathered popular Japanese singers, as well as Korean singers, such as TVXQ, Kara, Girls’ Generation and BoA. With this event, YoonA and her ideal type Takuya Kimura met and stood on the same stage.
Before the start of the show, all artistes gathered on the stage, during which Girls’ Generation members were spotted behind SMAP. As the talk went on, YoonA, who is known to have chosen Takuya Kiruma as her ideal type, could not take her eyes off Takuya Kiruma throughout the talk.
