Girls’ Generation’s ‘V Concert’ brings traffic around Gangnam

Girls’ Generation’s virtual concert has caused a heavy traffic congestion at the Gangnam Station intersection in southern Seoul on January 5.

According to SM Entertainment, the group’s agency, the girls presented hologram performances in the virtual concert called “Girls’ Generation V Concert” at 8 p.m. on the M-Stage at Gangnam subway station. People thronged to the venue three to four hours before the concert began and enjoyed the performances despite the very cold weather.

“V Concert” means Virtual Concert and it consists of 3D hologram video images.

In the concert, “I Got a Boy”, the title song of the group’s fourth album, and “Dancing Queen” on the same album, were presented as hologram videos.

A representative of the agency said, “The hologram video performances rendered a sense of realism and enchanted the viewers.”

Following the hologram performances, Girls’ Generation members visited the concert venue, greeted the viewers and conducted a brief talk show at the booth by the stage.

The girls showed the viewers photos of the shooting scenes for the music video of “I Got a Boy” and other unreleased photos and talked about their recent activities.

The concert, which was held with help of Gangnamgu ward office, was broadcast live to the world via Naver.

‘STONEHENGE’ ad featuring the ‘Jung sisters’ (Jessica & Krystal) is a copy off of the Fanning sisters’ previous photoshoot?

As mentioned earlier, the ‘Jung sisters’, Girls’ Generation‘s Jessica and f(x)‘s Krystal, recently posed for jewelry brand ‘STONEHENGE‘.
The pictorial was unveiled earlier and garnered the attention of fans as the photos showcased the flawless beauty of the two sisters.
However, although the ad is beautiful and the sisters are undoubtedly stunning in the photos, netizens have pointed out that it looks all too familiar. It turns out the ad featuring Jessica and Krystal looked pretty much identical to celebrity sisters Dakota and Elle Fanning‘s pictorial in ‘W‘ fashion magazine’s December 2011 issue.
Many were upset that the two sisters were unfortunately involved in a pictorial that seem to be a blatant copy off the Fanning sisters’, and voiced their opinions, writing, “[STONEHENGE] totally copied. It’s embarrassing”, “Why did the photoshoot director use this type of concept”, “Does [STONEHENGE] not have any dignity”, and “Can we not copy off foreign pictorials?”
However, some believed that it was intentional and meant to be noticed, commenting, “Since the Fanning sisters are very famous and the Jessica and Krystal also happen to be sisters, maybe they decided to parody the concept on purpose?”

Girls’ Generation re-releases “Dancing Queen” without the controversial phrase

Girls’ Generation has reuploaded “Dancing Queen“.
The video had been taken down after the phrase on Sunny‘s hat became heavily criticized. The new music video is the same as the old one – it kept the same URL, same stats, and even the same publish date as the original one – but the phrase on Sunny’s hat is completely blacked out.
Sunny’s hat with the newly CGed-out phrase can be seen around the 4:13 mark. Check it out for yourself in the video below!

Jessica and Krystal model for jewelry brand STONEHENgE

Jessica and Krystal have been chosen as new models for jewelry brand STONEHENgE.
The two will be the new muses of the jewelry brand for 2013. It is the first time the two sisters have been chosen as models for a brand together. STONEHENgE had previously chosen models such as Shin Se Kyung and Lee Min Jung, showcasing a certain image with elegant, gorgeous women.
The photoshoot had the concept of ‘Spending a Beautiful Moment Together’. The two ladies expressed the various emotions that sisters normally feel towards each other, acting naturally for the camera. They checked each other’s makeup and hair during the filming and joked around. When Jessica was asked about marriage, she teared up, expressing her fear of living apart from her sister.
A video of the pair for the brand will be released on the 14th.
