A third part talks about the girls' diet and eating habits. During the program, Sunny said, "People think that we're on diets and only eat a little bit, but we eat so much that it surprises our managers. We're eating regularly and getting enough rest, so you don't have to worry about us." Yoona similarly stated, "We're really doing a good job eating regularly. I don't know where people got the idea that 'Girls' Generation members are on diets'. We're eating well and we're strong." Yuri also said, "The diet that was revealed a while ago was not true. I make sure to eat three meals a day and I enjoy exercising." The "Girls' Generation diet" that the three members are referring to is the one that was revealed at the beginning of this year on SBS's Lunar Near Year Special "What Are Stars Doing?" In it, they stated that Girls' Generation's diet consisted of seasonal greens, five broccoli heads, 100 grams of chicken breast, and 150 grams of brown rice, among other things, to form a 1,500 kilocalorie diet.
MBC "Feel Good" ask Girls' Generation about their Popularity and Japanese Concert
Meeting up for the interview in the waiting room, the members' lit up with happy expressions as they talked about the popularity they had achieved. The members talked about their recent achievements in the J-pop industry, saying "We reached the number one spot on the Oricon Weekly Chart", adding "Our album recorded sales of more than 230,000 copies in its first week, and including Japanese artists we are ranked number 4 in the Yearly Oricon Chart".
When it was mentioned that the group often appear in both Korean and Japanese news, Sunny wittily replied "Thank God it's good news that comes out", causing the room to burst out in laughter.
Regarding their popularity in Japan, Taeyeon stated, "Every time there's a concert tour, we realise how popular we are depending on the amount of fans that come to see us". Sooyoung also added, "Not only in Korean music, there seems to also be a rise in interest in Korean food and the Korean language as well."
Yoona jokingly stated, "She was feeling sick the other day but from then onwards, she has been really active. It's not fair." Sunny added, "I feel sorry for the fans that have been worrying about me. I’m really healthy now. I eat well and rest well, so, please don’t worry."
Girls' Generation to Appear Together with X Japan at Summer Sonic
There is a lineup of big names who are active around the world like Red Hot Chili Peppers, X JAPAN, and Avril Lavigne.
After having a major debut in September of last year in Japan, on June 1st (2011) they released their first (Japanese) album "Girls' Generation" which has sold over 700,000 units. Currently they are doing a full Japan tour consisting of six cities and fourteen performances and are expecting approximately 140,000 fans. Staff have explained that, "Summer Sonic's organizer recognized the quality of their performances and that there was a high demand for them."
This will be the girls' first time experiencing a summer festival, so the members commented, "We're all really excited to be able to stand on the same stage with so many magnificent artists from around the world."
(TL note: Summer Sonic will consist of four performances in two cities over two days' time. There will be concerts held in both locations at the same time on the same day. After those performances, the musicians/artists will be traveling to the other location to perform the next day. In other words, there will be two concerts, one in Tokyo and one in Osaka, each day, for a total of four concerts. Special guests are musicians/artists that will ONLY be appearing in one city. For example, Girls' Generation will only be appearing in Tokyo on the 14th, and will not be performing in Osaka on the 13th. Stay tuned to Soshified for any updates.)
