Girls' Generation the new faces of Lotte Departmental Store


On April 1st, Korea’s biggest departmental store, Lotte Departmental Store has officially appointed Girls’ Generation as their models. The girls will be carrying out their activities as models for Lotte Departmental Store for 1 year, starting March 2012 and they are expected to be featured on various advertising media such as brochures, DM, TV advertisements, outdoor advertisements, etc.

In the past, Lotte Departmental Store had selected female actresses with smart and friendly image as models. Starting from 2007, in order to promote its cultural departmental store image, ballerina Kang SooJin and poet Park DongKyu and other art and cultural figures were appointed as models as well.

This time around, it is none other than the 9 young and beautiful angels of Girls’ Generation who will be the new faces of Lotte Departmental Store. According to a representative of the departmental store, with the variety of lively, young and fashionable image possessed by all 9 Girls’ Generation members, Lotte Departmental Store hopes to deliver its trendy image that would appeal to its customers.

Girls’ Generation’s trendy fashion sense which can be witnessed through broadcast or various paparazzi cuts, was known as the main criteria that firmly supported their appointment as models. In addition to that, each 9 members have their own different concepts, expressing the variety of the personalities of the young generation as well as the difference in personal preferences. Lotte Departmental Store also hopes that its ‘Global Departmental Store’ image could be established, especially among customers from foreign countries who visit Korea frequently.

Chief of Lotte Departmental Store’s Marketing Department said, “In general, customers in their teens to 20s who can be classified as ‘young customers’ is a significant customer group as they made up 30% of total customers in the departmental store. By selecting the most preferred figures, Girls’ Generation as the new models, the ‘young image’ that reaches out to this group of customers would be established. In the future, we will keep on working very hard to make Lotte Departmental Store a pleasant and enjoyable departmental store for our customers”.

Yuri’s fanclub treats entire “Fashion King” staff to lunch

Fans of Girls’ Generation member Yuri have officially begun their all out support for their beloved idol.
Yuri, who is currently gaining much attention for her acting skills on SBS‘s “Fashion King“, benefited from her legions of fans as her fan club prepared lunch for the entire staff of the drama. It was revealed that fans across 8 different countries such as Korea, China, and Japan pitched in to prepare such a treat for the staff.
The president of Yuri’s fan club commented, “After thinking long and hard for a month with our worldwide fans, we decided on preparing a meal and complementary gifts for the hardworking staff members and Yuri. There is much anticipation for Fashion King among foreign fans. Everyone is excited that Yuri is fitting in well as one of the main actresses.”
In response to the love from her fans, Yuri invited over 200 fans to a “Fashion King viewing with Kwon Yuri Event“, which is scheduled for April 2nd at the SBS broadcast studio. The lucky fans who were chosen for this exciting event were chosen through SBS’s official Twitter @SBSNOW and SM Entertainment.

Poster For SM Movie "I AM" Revealed, Stars Offstage Appearances "Builds Anticipation!"


The poster and teaser of the movie “I AM”, featuring SM Entertainment artists, has been revealed.

“I AM” documents the making of history, as SM Entertainment artists including Kangta, BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, SHINee and f(x), become the first Asian artists to stand on the stage of New York’s Madison Square Garden. The film attracts interest as it depicts the scenes of SM Town artists, who have gone beyond Asia to the world, before and after their performances, as well as while they prepare for their stages.

In the second movie poster which was revealed this time, what is seen is not the glamorous on-stage looks of the artists, but rather their casual and natural appearances, increasing the anticipation which people have for the movie.

Also, the teaser of the film “I AM” captures the nervous expressions of the artists before they go on stage, and the preparation which they undergo behind-the-scenes in order to present passionate stages for the fans. The film is labelled “The first, the best, and with the most possibility”, hinting at the real side of these artists which can be seen.

Upon seeing this, netizens expressed, “It cannot be missed” and “It seems to be a film with a lot of passion and hard work. I am looking forward to it.” among other responses.

On another note, this film “I AM”, which has once again sparked interest among the fans with the release of the second poster and teaser clip, will be screened in May.

Girl’s Generation becomes Lotte Department Store’s official models

Hallyu super group Girl’s Generation has become the official models for Lotte Department Store.
Lotte has secured the endorsement for a period of one year. It will hold the rights to various uses of their rights including CF’s, mailing ads, and advertisements.
Lotte Department Store cited Girl’s Generation’s bright and eye-catching image as a potential re-branding of its own image into a young and hip department store.
It also mentioned that Girl’s Generation’s status as a top Hallyu group can allow potential customers from Japan to Indonesia to become more familiar with the Lotte brand
A Lotte Department store representative commented, “Since the economy is not looking too good, we decided on using bright and refreshing endorsement models. We will continue to strive to become a department store that presents the best shopping experience for our customers.”

Girls’ Generation’s ‘Gee’ Music Video surpasses 70 million views on Youtube

The music video for Girls’ Generation‘s hit track, “Gee” has amazingly surpassed the 70 million view mark on global video-sharing website, Youtube!
The music video received its 70 millionth viewer, earlier today on March 31st, continuing its role as the most viewed K-Pop video on the site.
The video can’t seem to stop gaining attention, as it attracts new viewers everyday.  The cute, fresh, chic, and innocent image that these girls portray is so addicting that even foreign viewers become instantly hooked by its unique characteristics.
A short time after their achievement, the comment box was inundated with, “Omg! Already 70 million views?“, “Girls’ Generation is the best! So proud to be a Sone“, “Keep watching until 100,000,000!” and more.
Some other top viewed K-pop music videos on Youtube include Wonder Girls Nobody which contains over 56.6 million views and Girls’ Generation’s Oh! which is well on its way to getting 50 million views.

Girls’ Generation appear on Japanese variety show “Mecha×2 Iketeru!” special

As previously reported, the ladies of Girls’ Generation appeared on the 3-hour long special of the Fuji TV variety show “Mecha×2 Iketeru!“.
The girls appeared in about 30 minutes of the special and showed off their charms.
The Japanese comedians calling themselves the ‘Okamura Takashi Exploration Party’ or ‘explorers’ traveled to Seoul in order to capture the descendants of the ancient ‘Shoujo Tribe’, who now exist in the modern age as Shoujo Jidai (Girls’ Generation). Along the way they even bump into a few members of the group Super Junior, check out the segment below!
