Girls' Generation Tops 3 Oricon Weekly Charts

Girls’ Generation has hit number one with their latest Japanese releases!

Following the group’s
first place debut on the Oricon daily chart with 5th Japanese single ‘Oh!’ on September 26, Girls’ Generation maintained its heavy sales to place first on the Oricon weekly chart after selling 66,000 copies in its first week.

In addition, the ‘Girls’ Generation Complete Video Collection’ DVD and Blu-ray which were released on the same day as the 5th single also topped the weekly charts of their respective divisions with sales of 40,000 copies (DVD) and 19,000 copies (Blu-ray) respectively.

Girls’ Generation became the first female artist or foreign group to reach number one on all three charts (Oricon’s Weekly Single, DVD, and Blu-Ray Rankings) in the same week. The first group to accomplish this same feat was Mr. Children, a Japanese pop rock band formed in 1988.

Girls’ Generation to release new Japanese single “Flower Power” & album in November

Korean girl group, Shoujo Jidai (Girls’ Generation), recently released their latest single “Oh!” and entered the Oricon chart at number one on its first day.

It has now been announced that they will also be releasing a new single on November 14th titled “FLOWER POWER”. The lyrics will be sexy as they tell a story of a girl trying to escape the pursuit of a man on the dance floor. To tie in with that, the promotional picture shows all nine members trying to escape from a searchlight that is following them.

Shoujo Jidai will also be releasing their new album on November 28th. The album is currently untitled, but will come in three editions: First Press Limited Edition (/w DVD), Deluxe First Press Limited Edition (/w DVD), and the Regular Edition.
