MC YulTi & SNSD at 101225 Music Core filled with cuteness & clumsiness XD

Not long after I went in, both Yuri and Fany were walking towards the small stage at the left side of the main stage and were preparing to start MC-ing. But a staff needs to talk to Yuri so Fany went over to the small stage first. Yuri was walking towards the wrong direction but thank god a staff directed her. If not she would be detouring.

After their MC-ing part, the both of them return to the MC stage. Yuri held Fany's hand and was leading the way. Along the way, we were waving at them. Yuri was smiling and nodding her head at us. As for Fany, she also waved at us while being pulled by Yuri.

The 4 MCs' sitting arrangement was that in the front row Yuri was on the left and Fany was on the right. Behind YulTi, Jiyeon was on the left and Suzy was on the right. After they settled down, Yuri asked a staff to give her a bottle of water but the latter didn't heard her request so Fany called a staff who was in front of her and did a drinking hand sign. Fany gulped down the water first before passing the bottle to Yuri. Yuri also gulped down the water. Everything looks so coordinated~

Fany totally looks like a PD. She either was discussing something with the camera PD or the two MCs behind her. She kept doing alot of hand signs. And as for Yuri, she either was staring at the monitor or looking at her script. Occasionally Fany would put her hand on Yuri's lap and whispered to her ear. Yuri was listening to her while nodding. And occasionally Yuri also whispered to her; side-hugging her and would put her hand on her lap too.

Both Jiyeon and Fany were waiting at the right side of the stage but not too sure what Fany had stepped onto, she almost slipped. Thank god that Jiyeon managed to grab her if not... Fany can you please be more careful?! If you want to ask what was Yuri doing at that point of time... She was using Yoong's mirror. Yuri, image is very important but you need to look after your Fany!

Today's performance was live so there's no pre-recording. The girls went onto the stage during the 2 MCs mc-ing part. We felt so touched when we saw the girls doing the "Right Now It's SNSD" action. But Oh was already being played so the nine of them immediately dispersed and started to perform. And Yuri, who was the furthest from her starting position, she walked slowly from the north to south. So fail~~!! We were laughing so hard at her. We laughed not because of her fail but because despite that she was walking towards her position, she still did the dance moves and controlled her facial expression. Everything reminds us of the sentence that Hyoyeon often used to describe Yuri, " She fails very professionally".

During the ending part where there was a group singing, Yuri was humming to the song (she doesn't know the lyrics) but in end she sneakily went to the back, passed the mic to Maknae and said something to her. Sunny immediately laughed and her laughter was pretty loud... Yuri returned to her original position with an embarrassing smile after being laughed at. And till the end of the song, that "Yuri" mike was in Maknae's hands...

During the ending, when the confetti dropped, Sooyoung grabbed some but as for Yoong she accumulated all the confetti in her hands and proudly showed it to us. She even swing your hands because she afraid that we didn't saw it. Usually Hyoyeon would always accompany Yoong to play with the confetti but today, it was Sica. At that point of time, Sica also accumulated alot of confetti in her hands so in the end she and Yoong proudly showed us those confetti...

After the girls finished their performance, all the screaming was so loud. Yoong ran to the right side of the stage and was staring at the audience with an blank expression while wiping her sweats. And as for Taeyeon, she ran to the right side of the stage alone and was covering her ears, signaling that she couldn't hear what the Mcs were saying. But in the end she waved at the audience. Today SONEs dominated the place so everybody was yelling the girls' names. The girls were busying waving and bidding goodbye so they were the last group to go back to the backstage. When the girls were about to go in, Yuri helped to tidy the fringe of the girl who was beside her. She also grabbed her ponytail and lastly she put her hands around that girl...upon looking very closely, beside that girl...Sica also...

Maknae, Taeyeon and Sica didn't returned to the backstage but were standing behind the props, removing their mics with the help of the staffs. At that point of time, a male fan screamed "Seohyun ah!" so Maknae immediately released her hands and waved at our direction. She's so obedient. Maybe because of her encouragement, a few of the male fans screamed for Taeyeon and Sica. Although the both of them didn't released their hands, they did raised their head and thanked the fans with a smile. But because of the awkward starings, the both of them immediately lowered their head, continued removing the mics. Suddenly Sica looked at our direction so we were staring at each other...Then a group of other groups' fans and I waved at her. But only I continued to wave non-stop and was raising my hands up high until Sica raised her chin, signaling that she saw it. So I put hands down. But she was looking at me and laughed. Hahahha. It's a bonus for me!!!

...Because without this exact number, things would be left incomplete.

When So Nyuh Shi Dae walked into the new world, the old world experienced a turning point that resembled everlasting change. There was no turning back. It was the beginning of a life threatening plague that would swipe out all living beings in the world and leave inevitable traces of soshi-symptoms upon many many people, such as increased heart-beat, laughing fever, the urge to act crazily, extreme spazzing etc. There’s this ironic statement that states that the cause to a disease is also the remedy, and this relates to SNSD as they are the one and only doctors that can cure these soshi-symptoms, yet once fans attend their live performances the disease just becomes worse. Regardless, we don’t give a hoot because the soshi plague is desired and its soshi-effects tend to bring out the positive aspects of life. Sure, the impact is tremendous, but who said these soshi-symptoms were bad?

The nine sisters were perfect for each other, they are now and will always be despite any tsunami-height waves triggering ahead. Perhaps in the dictionary perfection is defined as something without flaws, without mistakes. But in the soshictionary this isn’t so. Perfection is the ability to recognise, accept and be willing to learn from one’s past mistakes. It is a process of changing certain things in life to make them better and bring about positive effects to yourself and the others surrounding you, rather than merely a flawless result. After all, a life about complete perfection would be boring, because the world requires a contrast between the good and bad in order to highlight the former. SNSD’s cute mistakes during performances are what shape them into who they are today – success without failure is no success at all. What we also have to realise is that a mistake from one member will affect the whole performance routine, but what differentiates these girls from others is their ability to work as one and help each other – even if it’s just a quick glance during a mistake.

Nine sisters. One heart. Some say that they are only popular due to heavy promotions by SM Entertainment and that it’s not their actual talents for which they are famous for. Let’s get one thing straight. SME knows its work and they work damn hard to promote all its artists in order for them to reach their full potential despite the monetary value associated. But this does not necessarily mean that the ladies are nothing but just pretty faces. It’s true that not every member can sing so brilliantly, and it can be said the same for dance too. But if Soshi is being criticised because “Oh! She can’t sing for sh**” or “she’s got the skinny body but her moves aren’t even up to normal standard, even I can do better!” then this is all wrong. Well, to me at least.

Life is about a balance. Our bodies would not function if we only had ‘good’ substances with the complete absence of bacteria, and vice versa. Despite the need for equality between females and males in the contemporary society, both genders are born to have different features so that they can help each other in life. If everyone was the same then there would be no point of relationships. Same thing with SNSD. Every girl specialises in a certain area, which is why there are main vocalists and main dancers set by SME. Whilst YoonA may not be the best at singing, her dancing and acting abilities are evident. Taeyeon is known as the best singer in terms of vocal techniques despite she may not be top for dance. But it’s okay, because each member contributes a little to the whole soshi-bond and this is what makes Girls’ Generation complete.

Watching SNSD grow for the past few years has been like standing next to a merry-go-round spin its way through ups and downs. It would be a lie to say that every single song released has been an ultimate smash hit but this doesn’t matter because if that really did happen, then every time they held trophies, every time they won awards things would seem bland and meaningless. There is nothing to highlight if there’s no shadow. There would be no shining stars if the sky was bright forever. They’ve been through tears and smiles, but in the end we know they will spin back to where we are viewing from because we can never escape them once caught. What’s more important is that they do not have fear for the end of the ride as the experience would outweigh all and everything.

“Sowoneul malhaebwa” they sing. There are plenty of wishes to be fulfilled as requested from Sones, espcially during the Christmas time. You are sitting down and in the middle of listening to a love melody, glancing through the frosted glass window and seeing the heavy fall of snow whilst your heavy breath blows a heart-shape onto the glass (or at least imagine it like me). Whether it is to meet the girls in real life, buy them presents or to hope that they will be happy every day, you secretly pray that your snowy wishes will be answered one day. Truth is, they can be your genies but that doesn’t mean every wish can be granted. However, the hope and anticipation of its possibility is what keeps us, Sones, alive. Maybe one day we will have the chance to meet and become best friends. But till’ then we will keep running and chasing after them, because they are worth every effort we make.

Girls’ Generation. They are our idols/role models, dominating figures, remedies, children riding on merry-go-rounds, genies and spies. Soshi is fierce – they kick, make the devil run, shoot arrows and hold guns. But their cute image will never be erased despite the appearance of ‘Black Soshi’, because Oh! Em! Gee! They are just too lovable. Here’s the proof (in no particular order):

Reporter: You are the ‘Star of The Year’ award winner. How do you feel?
Jessica : Yeah~!
Seohyun : I could not believe it.
Sunny : As we are still young girls, this means a lot to us and it seems surreal.

Reporter: This year SNSD have been receiving lots of love. What do you think is the factor for your popularity?
Taeyeon : I think the audiences love the ‘freshness’ of our performances everytime we come up with a new concept. Also, the expectation that goes with the change in our appearances played a major role as well.
Seohyun : Since we’re growing slowly everyday, please feel proud for us. I guess when the audience see us being happy on stage, they too, will be feeling the same.

Reporter: It has been a busy year. What’s the most memorable moment?
Jessica : Our first showcase in Japan was the most memorable.
Taeyeon: That’s right. The feeling is still fresh in our minds. When we first landed on a foreign land, how would we know that the fans know about us and gave us such huge cheers and support? Even now, I still find it hard to believe.
Seohyun: In achieving new records in a new place, it has given the team members an opportunity to work together more closely.
Sooyoung: I think for me it’s Tiffany’s injury. This is the first time a member has been absent for this long due to something like this. With the void left by Tiffany, I think we have learned to care and think of one another better now.
Tiffany: I’m really thankful for the care and concerns given by the members. The void was greatly felt. In the future, I do not want to get hurt or ill anymore.

Reporter: What are your plans for 2011?
Seohyun: This year, we had the ‘Asia Tour’ going. Whenever we meet fans abroad, there is a special kind of feeling which is quite different from what we received from fans in Korea. In order to meet more of our foreign fans, we want a world tour . As proud citizens, SNSD want to help promote Korea Republic as well.
Taeyeon: I only want to greet everyone with good news. Please keep SNSD in your minds in 2011 too.

Christmas gift arrived early for those lucky ones who attended Japan’s Asahi TV’s ‘Music Station Super Live’earlier today as the 9 angels graced the stage with their forever-awesome performances of ‘Genie‘ and ‘Gee’.

Like many of you might have noticed, our girls have shown great improvement in the level of their Japanese language. Besides Sooyoung, Tiffany and Seohyun spoke really fluently on ‘Music Station’ today. Looks like Tiffany has been utilizing her 1-month break to the fullest. Being able to speak so fluently within a month is not an easy task and it only proves that our girls are indeed very linguistic. During the interview, the MC was also amazed with the fact that their Japanese have improved.

Here’s the translation for the interview involving the MCs, Sooyoung and Yuri:
  • Male MC: Your Japanese has gotten much better.
    Sooyoung: We study very hard.
    Female MC: That’s great.
Male Mc: What’s your goal for next year?
Yuri: Next year I want to become better in Japanese. We want to challenge Japanese people ( she made a cute mistake in her Japanese.)
Sooyoung: We want to try to do a national tour in Japan.

Girls' Generation and SM Entertainment picked as the top of K-pop

SM Entertainment has been picked as the "Power Man" of the celebrity industry. 100 professionals were asked to pick the best of many categories, and SM Entertainment received 28 votes, making them the "2010 Entertainment Power Man." Not only so, but Girls' Generation received the "This Year's Star Daesang." This is the first time that a company has gotten both the "Star Daesang" and "Power Man".

Second place went to CJ Entertainment with 21 votes, a mere 7 votes behind SM Entertainment. CJ Entertainment does not have celebrities, but it is the dominant powerhouse in distributing movies and DVDs in Korea. This year it saw its biggest success with "Mister".

Third place went to MNet with 14 votes, most likely because of its Super Star K. However, because MNet is a branch of CJ Corporate just as CJ Entertainment is, if the two votes are combined CJ Corporate overtakes SM Entertainment.

Girls' Generation was 1st in the "Star Daesang" with 36 votes, but also entered the "Power Man" rankings with 6 votes, the only non-company name to be on the list. Wonbin was second with 19 votes, and Jang Hyuk was 3rd with 6 votes. They were also first in "This Year's Singer" with 55 votes. JYP Entertainment's representative also voted for Girls' Generation instead of his company's 2PM or Wonder Girls, showing just how successful the girls were this year.

Wonbin won 1st place in "This Year's Actor" with 35 points, and Kang Hodong won 1st place in "This Year's Comedian" with 23 points. "This Year's Song" went to miss A's "Bad Girl Good Girl" with 26 votes, KBS 2TV Happy Sunday's "Qualifying Men" obtained 1st place in "This Year's TV Program" with 18 votes, and "Mister" won "This Year's Movie" with 47 votes.

Do you agree with these rankings?

It’s a super busy day for the girls!

On December 30th, SNSD will be traveling back and forth between Korea and Japan as they will be attending the year-end events in the 2 countries. This is indeed the proof that SNSD are currently enjoying huge popularity in both countries.

The girls departed for Japan last night (sportsseoul.com mentioned ‘this morning’, which is wrong) and they will be attending the ‘Japan Record Awards’ which will be televised LIVE on TBS. ‘The 52nd Japan Record Awards‘ is an annual award ceremony organized by Composers Association of Japan and SNSD have been nominated for theBest Rookie Award.

After the award ceremony (probably after Best Rookie Award is announced), the girls will be taking an express plane ride to Korea where they will be performing at the ‘2010 KBS Song Festival‘. According to the list of performances released by KBS, SNSD will only be performing in the second half of the show. For this year’s festival, SNSD are set to grace the stage with ‘Run Devil Run‘ and then followed by ‘Oh!‘. For the ‘Most Popular Song Award’, SNSD who have released 3 powerful hits, ‘Oh!’, ‘Run Devil Run’ and ‘Hoot’ are seen strong contenders.

A representative of SM Entertainment said, “Due to SNSD’s outstanding achievements successful promotional activities in both Korea and Japan this year, there have been great interest and demands for SNSD to attend the year-end special music programs in the two countries. In order to meet and spend more memorable time with fans, we have decided to charter a private plane in view of the members’ safety, convenience and urgency”.

The chartered plane is rumored to be a luxurious Gulfstream G550 private business jet owned by Japanese airline company, EXCEL Airways. The 13-seater plane will be flying the 9 girls along with their manager and 3 staff directly from Haneda to Seoul.

The overlapping schedules are indeed adding more burden to their already-hectic schedules and the girls ought to be praised for their willingness and determination to attend both events. We hope that the girls would have plenty of rest once the year-end events are over.
