Girls' Generation and Kara To Perform at Japan's Year End Show!

Girls’ Generation and Kara have been invited to NHK′s 62nd music special Red & White Song Battle, Japan′s top year-end show.

NHK′s Red & White Song Battle is a show that divides more than 50 singers and artists that have led active music careers in Japan during the year into competing teams of red and white.

This will be the first time for Girls’ Generation and Kara to appear on the program.

Kara’s Park Gyuri said, “[We′re] very moved [by the invitation]," while Nicole commented, “I want to join the show wearing a red dress.”

Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung spoke in fluent Japanese, “I’m honored to be in the Red & White Song Battle, which boasts a long history of 62 years. I’ll do my best to put on great performances like sunbaes (senior) BoA and TVXQ.”

Sankei Sports also reported, “Kara, whose member Kang Jiyoung is still a minor, will warm up the stage by performing for 45 minutes from 7:15 to 8pm for the opening along with the show’s youngest-ever participant, seven-year-old Ashida Mana.” In Japan, celebrities who are underage are not allowed to appear on TV after 9pm.

Jessica Stuns in '1st Look' Photo Spread!

Jessica is serious about bringing the boys out. Girls’ Generation’s representative ‘Ice Princess" recently posed for entertainment and lifestyle magazine 1st Look, giving a classic look a sexy twist for the photo spread.

Nothing is as subtly sexy as a Little Black Dress, and the form fitting LBD the singer donned for one of the cuts hugs her figure without giving away too much, while the fur coat falling effortlessly off of her shoulder, the string of pearls around her neck and her classic waves pull the glammed-up look together.

Long sleeves and a turtle neck may not scream sexy, but Jessica’s seductive pose suggests otherwise, as the photo captures the singer pulling the hemline up ever so slightly to reveal her toned legs.

Jessica maintains her ‘Ice Princess’ image in each cut, and in the magazine’s interview, the singer admitted, “I don’t dislike the ‘Ice Queen’ nickname. It you look at it negatively, it means I’m arrogant and cold, but a woman needs to play a little hard to get sometimes.”

However, she added that promoting with Girls’ Generation has helped break the ice, saying, “I’ve become better at expressing my emotions since promoting with Girls’ Generation, and if something funny happens, I’ll laugh about it later.”

The singer also expressed her interest in fashion, saying she enjoys shooting photo spreads and trying on different clothes. “I’m really interested in fashion, so after studying it a little more, I want to work in the fashion industry,” said Jessica.

Despite her icy image, Jessica did not withhold her affection for her younger sister and f(x) member Krystal, saying that she is “a friend who I can talk and give advice to about work and life.”

Jessica’s thoughts on her future plans, from music and musicals to acting and appearing on variety shows, can also be found in the latest issue of 1st Look on newsstands now.

Jessica Discusses Her Recent "Training Video" on Yoo Heeyeol's Sketchbook!

Training implies that Jessica is training the fans with her actions in the video.
On December 2nd’s episode of “Yoo Heeyeol’s Sketchbook”, Jessica discussed the “training video” which has recently become an issue on online communities.
During the broadcast, Jessica said, “There are fans there to take pictures every time we go to the airport, and at the time, there were regular fans that come to see us, and I said hello to them with the thought of, ‘Oh they’re here again’ in mind.”
Jessica’s “training video” became an issue between netizens as a kind of fan service by pointing a finger at the fans who came out to welcome them at the airport.
Netizens responded with, “Training like an ‘Ice-Princess’”, “It was nice to see her treat the fans with friendliness” and “I hope that there will be more training videos in the future.”
Non-Girls’ Generation related news omitted.

Sunny impresses ‘Invincible Youth 2′ crew with her leadership

SNSD‘s Sunny demonstrated her strong leadership skills in the latest episode of ‘Invincible Youth 2‘.

Sunny was part of a meeting that dealt with preparations for the G8 house, which included cast members Lee Soo Geun, Boom, Ji Hyun Woo, Bora, and Hyoyeon.

With ‘Captain’ Sunny leading the way, the G8 members discussed which guests they wanted to invite and what sort of items were needed for their empty room. The members rattled off a list that contained the latest household products like a 3D TV, a kimchi refrigerator, a high-tech vacuum cleaner, and more.

But Sunny firmly put her foot down and disagreed with the superfluous list. “Our traditional kimchi crock can take the place of a Kimchi refrigerator, and we can make delicious rice with a cauldron instead of a rice cooker. More than watching TV, we should be listening to interesting stories from our members.”

The other girls and the uncles were impressed by Sunny’s firm leadership, and praised, “You are definitely Sunkyu”.

You can watch Sunny in action when the show airs its latest episode on December 3rd.

Team leader SoonKyu has spoken!

Sunny displayed her qualities as ‘Worker Soonkyu’ through a meaningful speech.

On ‘Invincible Youth 2’ which will be aired on the 3rd of December, Sunny expressed herself to the other G8 members with her ‘luxury prohibition’ talk.

As the G8 members, Lee SooGeun, Boom and Ji HyunWoo are going to the G8′s house which will be completed by next week, they had a meeting to prepare for the ‘village entrance ceremony’. Led by Sunny, the team leader and Ji HyunWoo, the secretary, they kicked off the meeting and G8 members discussed about the guests they would like to invite and the things they need for the empty room.

G8 members who have high expectations for their new home talked about high-tech appliances like 3D plasma TV, two-door refrigerator, kimchi refrigerator, vacuum cleaner and rice cooker.

However, team leader Sunny said, “In replacement of kimchi refrigerator, we can use our traditional jar. In fact, iron pot cooks tastier rice than electric rice cooker”.

Sunny further expressed her opinions by saying, “We should listen to the stories of our G8 members instead of watching TV, because they are more interesting”. Sunny displayed her image as a genuine leader through her excellent speech which pointed out the key problems.

Sunny impressed not only the G8 members but also the samchons, who showered her with praises and said, “This is indeed SoonKyu!”.

Grils' Generation star aiming for fashion fame

Jessica from Girls’ Generation, who was featured in the December issue of 1stLook magazine, has revealed that she wants to pursue a career in fashion.

The 22-year-old singer is featured wearing various outfits and showcasing a sophisticated look that is in stark contrast to the image she portrays as a member of the successful girl group.
In the interview accompanying the photographs, Jessica spoke about her fellow band members, fashion and her younger sister Krystal, from girl group f(x). In regards to her future plans she said “I have a lot of interest in fashion and so after studying for a bit longer I want to work within the fashion industry. Photo shoots are so fun and I can learn a lot from wearing various styles of clothing.”

Jessica also expressed her desire to have a go at acting, comedy and musicals, among other career aspirations.

In some quarters Jessica has been labeled as an “Ice Princess” but it isn’t something that bothers her. “If you look at things negatively you are seen as a cold and aloof person. Still I think a girl’s charm comes from being hard to get.” She has that since being in the group she has learnt to become more emotional and expressive.

Girls' Generation and SHINee among acts that celebrate new TV channels

A concert featuring K-Pop groups such as SHINee, Girls’ Generation and Miss A took place on Dec. 2nd to commemorate the launch of four new TV channels.

To celebrate the launch of JTBC, Channel A, TV Chosun and MBN an hour-long concert took place at Korea University. Kicking off the show as Insooni, who sang a cover of SHINee’s “Ring Ding Dong” dressed in an elaborate white dress. She was followed by the five-piece boy band itself that thrilled and delighted the crowd by singing their hit song “Lucifer.” Singer Kim Gun-mo had perhaps the most interesting performance, entertaining fans with a performance that included him shooting laser beams from his keytar.

Halfway through the show Kim Jang-hoon stepped onto a gyrating platform that took him out above the audience while he sang. Miss A also made an appearance and performed “Good-bye Baby” to an enthusiastic crowd that was sorry to see the band leave the stage. A trot medley by the trio of Sul Woon-do, Tae Jin-ah and Song Dae-kwan was a hit with the older members of the audience, but undoubtedly the highlight of the concert was when Girls’ Generation took the stage. The girls performed their new single, “The Boys” to a full house as the night drew to an end.
