Girls’ Generation to pre-release a song off their upcoming 4th album in January + another English album in store?

 
 
With the mysterious image above just having been revealed, the media has been at work trying to uncover just what may be in store for Girls’ Generation! Well, according to music industry insiders, this 2012.12.21 date is actually for the pre-release of a song off the girls’ upcoming album due out in January!
 
It was mentioned previously that the girls were due to reveal their 4th full length album in January of 2013, and it seems, to surprise fans for the holiday season, the group has decided to pre-release one of the songs.
 
One insider revealed, “There is a rumor that the song that will be pre-released is one that has been worked hard on, as much as a title track, so I’m looking forward to it.”
 
In addition, some new information has surfaced regarding an upcoming English album due out in 2013. It is said that SM Entertainment and Interscope Records are currently in discussion about the group’s new album in the U.S. so it seems we have even more to look forward to in 2013 from the girls!
 
[Update]: Latest reports are suggesting that this pre-release coming up is actually a remake of a famous song that the girls have worked on years ago, and they are now using this chance to reveal the track.

SM Entertainment has just updated their Facebook as well as twitter with this mysterious image shown above, quickly gaining the attention of eager fans who have been dying to hear news of the one and only Girls’ Generation!
 
The photo shows a badge like figure with “So-Nyu-Shi-Dae” written on the front with wings off to the side and decorated with Korea’s national flower “Mugunghwa” or Hibiscus syriacus, aka Rose of Sharon, in between.
 
The date printed on the bottom says December 21st, 2012 10 AM, giving us a heads up for when we can expect this mysterious project to be revealed (that is, if the world doesn’t end by then…).

Girls' Generation ranks first for Korean singers on 2012 Oricon Chart

 

 Girls’ Generation’s success in Japan is evident yet again as Oricon released their yearly sales chart.

Amassing a revenue of over 4.3 billion yen (550 billion KRW; $51 million USD), Girls’ Generation tops Korean sales in Japan and was the seventh highest grossing artist overall for 2012. This news comes days after their second Japanese album achieved platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ).

“Girls’ Generation II ~Girls & Peace~” and three singles, “Paparazzi”, “Oh!”, and “FLOWER POWER” earned high spots in daily, weekly, and monthly Oricon singles charts for the year. The “Girls’ Generation: Complete Video Collection” released in September sold over 87,500 copies and was certified “Gold” by the RIAJ.

Oricon’s yearly chart for 2012 recorded sales from December 26, 2011 to December 17, 2012.

Girls' Generation releases 'GiRL de Provence' Perfume CFs


 
 
Girls’ Generation has just released different CFs for the ‘GiRL de Provence’ perfume from 10 Corso Como through SMTOWN’s official Youtube channel on December 20th.

The ladies of Girls’ Generation transformed into sweetly scented ladies as their flaunted their dazzling beauty with ‘GiRL de Provence’ perfume.

‘GiRL de Provence’ was first seen in Girls’ Generation – TTS’s music video for “Twinkle”. The perfume, which was sold for one month only from June 8th to July 8th, is the unique perfume line created with inspiration from Girls’ Generation.
