f(x)’s Sulli tears up while talking about SNSD’s Taeyeon, Tiffany

“Come to Play” had a special episode about SM Entertainment and its family concert in Paris. On this episode, f(x)’s Sulli thanked SNSD’s Tiffany and Taeyeon for their kindness in the past.

Sulli said, “In fourth grade, I came to Seoul and in the fifth grade, I started living in a dorm. I resided with Taeyeon and Tiffany unnie. They took good care of me and I liked to follow them around. I came to Seoul alone so I only had them to look up to for support.”

After revealing this, she began to tear up and then continued with her story,

“However, when they debuted in SNSD, they got so busy and had no time to spare so I could never see them. From then on, I was left in the dorm alone and began to think that we would drift apart.

Afterwards, I debuted as well and was able to see them often. In this spot, I really wanted to tell them ‘Thank you’.”

Tiffany, who was also on the show that day, said, “When I see dongsaengs during our international events, they seem very tired. Because of that, I’ve been thinking that I’ll have to take better care of them.”

She and Sulli showed their friendship through their words and tears.

SNSD’s Seohyun interviewed by Sports Hankook for her birthday!

In celebration of her very special day, SNSD’s youngest, Seohyun, was interviewed by Sports Hankook, a major Korean daily.

Seohyun has a special relationship with the newspaper: in a fortuitous coincidence, June 28th is also the birthday of Sports Hankook, currently in its 7th year of publication.

Check out the full interview below, and happy birthday to Seohyun from all of us here at allkpop!

Firstly, happy birthday.

Thank you. Happy birthday to Sports Hankook too.

Did you know of your special relationship with Sports Hankook?

No, I was surprised when I heard it. I knew there must be a reason why you always wrote good articles about me (laughs).

How did you feel?

It must be destiny. I’ll definitely keep reading. Is that being too serious (laughs)?

We kept all of the articles about SNSD from your debut, and we would like to give it to you as a birthday present.

Wow! This is the first time looking at them on paper. (After admiring the articles) It’s so different, seeing them on paper as opposed to the Internet. Are you really giving these to me? It’s an unforgettable birthday present. I’ll show them to my unnies.

It seems like just yesterday that you first sat down with us after your debut.

Right. I didn’t know anything then. I didn’t know what to say, nor what kinds of things are usually published in articles.

(Pointing at the article) How does it feel, seeing your debut picture? Anything you’d like to hide or change?

No, not at all. I like how the bangs make me look fresh. It’s heartwarming, looking at the previous me.

At the time, you had said you’d like to perform in a Japanese drama.

I still dream about that. I was into “Nodame Cantabile” at the time, and now I’m watching “Hotaru’s Light“. I hope the day can come when I can finally act in a Japanese drama.

SNSD hadn’t been thinking about Japanese promotions then. It’s almost as like you’ve prophesied it.

(Laughs) I suppose. Dreams became reality. If there is a goal and I start striving towards it, I think I’m able to gain the support of more people around me. The name ‘SNSD’ in itself contains dreams, and that dream of making the world a ‘girl’s generation’ will never change. Please stay with us until ‘girl’s generation’ becomes ‘grandmother’s generation’.

Is there a specific moment that’s engraved in your memory?

After our first performance together, everyone got together and cried for a long time.

I felt that we finally got to show ourselves on stage after such a long, arduous time training. I don’t think I’ll ever forget it. Looking at the past interviews, I feel that we shouldn’t lose our focus, our strength of mind. People change little by little without being aware of it, and I’m scared of that. I’ll always work hard to make sure I stay who I am.

You recently performed in Paris. Can you feel the impact of the Hallyu Wave?

Yes, of course. I think it’s because those who came before us worked so hard, that’s why Hallyu has the strength it has today. I don’t think we suddenly started it, just like that. I think it’s a blessing for us to promote in this era. There’s a sense of responsibility, as well. We will also pave the road for the performers who will follow in our footsteps.

Personally, what memory do you recall the most?

I did a duet with Joo Hyun Mi. My parents like her very much, and I was beyond nervous at the thought that I would get to sing with her. She held my hand during the performance, so that’s why I was able to barely finish it. Thinking back, I’m extremely thankful.

Were there any hardships to debuting so early in your life?

It’s hard when people focus on everything that you do. I started being careful of everything I was saying and doing. I’m used to it now and I’ve learned to be thankful for all the attention I’m getting.

Sports Hankook has met its 7th birthday. If there’s anything you’d like to say…

I’m always glad whenever I meet reporters from Sports Hankook. They’re very hardworking and trustworthy. Please write good articles about me in the future, and about SNSD as well. Thank you, and please watch over us well.

SNSD’s Sooyoung no longer allowed to do her famous imitations on variety shows

This week’s episode of MBC’s “Yoo Jae Suk & Kim Won Hee’s Let’s Play” aired an SM Entertainment “You Came From Paris” special, for which a full house of members from TVXQ, Super Junior, SNSD and f(x) made guest appearances.

During the “SM Town X-File” corner of the broadcast, SNSD’s Sooyoung complained that she was given a special order from the company, which was for her to never do her famous imitations in public ever again, out of the fear of ruining her image.

Sooyoung explained that whenever people would ask her about any special talents on variety shows, she didn’t want to make an awkward atmosphere by saying she had no talents, therefore she had no choice but to show off her hilarious imitations.

When MC Kim Won Hee requested for her to do an imitation one last time, Sooyoung quietly said, “I’m sorry, President”, and perfectly carried out an angry Go Hyun Jung imitation as she screamed out, “How do you expect me to do variety without my imitations!” causing the whole audience to burst into laughter.

On June 27, MBC's "Come To Play" aired a "We Came To Paris" special featuring Girls' Generation's Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri and Sooyoung, as well as a myriad of members from SM Entertainment labelmates TVXQ, Super Junior and f(x), centering on the group of artists who had just wrapped up their SMTown in Paris concert.

The show was filled with entertaining and hilarious moments; the guests singing, dancing, sharing stories, doing imitations and showcasing their talents. Sooyoung shared a funny story about her management giving her strict orders to not perform her screeching Go Hyun-Jung imitation in fear of her ruining her image, explaining her situation and even giving one last demonstration, making the audience erupt into laughter. French pronunciation of Korean names was also brought to light, the Girls' Generation members saying that they had laughed hearing "Hyoyeon-ah" being pronounced as "Yonyeon-ah (a derogatory name)" while "Sooyoung" had been pronounced as "Sooyeom (beard)".

Hyoyeon's popularity in Europe was also a topic of discussion, other members stating that she had received the loudest cheers during the concert in Paris. To this, Hyoyeon stated "The response I got was really amazing. I replied to the fans with long words of thanks. I think that they really enjoyed my dance performance."

Sulli spoke about moving to Seoul when she was younger, becoming close to Taeyeon and Tiffany who lived in the same dormitory and took care of her like a younger sister and became her source of support. She expressed how sad and lonely she had felt when they had debuted and become busy, and how grateful she was to be able to see them after also debuting, saying a sincere "thank you". In reply, Tiffany expressed that she felt she should take care of her dongsaengs, while wiping Sulli's tears.
