SNSD as Campaign models for J.ESTINA's handbag
SNSD’s appointment as the campaign models for J.ESTINA’s handbag line launching has become a hot discussion topic recently. Not long ago, cuts of Sooyoung and Seohyun at the shooting set were revealed and since then, it arouses huge interest among fans.
The reason behind selecting the girls as models for J.ESTINA was not simply because SNSD are popular. It was because SNSD match well with J.ESTINA’s ‘Real Princess’ concept as well as J.ESTINA’s direction and aspiration to be like SNSD who have gone beyond the Asian top star status and positioned themselves at the center of worldwide Kpop craze, becoming the ‘Global Cultural Icon’.
Since before the launching of J.ESTINA’s handbag, people within the industry and also handbag customers have already shown their huge interest. J.ESTINA had since ‘given birth’ to various best selling items such as Suzy’s Purse, Nichkhun’s Backpack, Park HanByul’s Backpack, etc.
With the start of this campaign, SNSD’s bags will soon be available. SNSD’s bags will have the ‘Flora Pattern’ and they are designed based on 2011 FW best fashion trend’s backpack style. Recently, backpack styles are based on the designs loved by males and females and thus, attracting more and more interest on these items. The bags will be released in two basic colors, brown and ivory. The stud-decorated red-colored bag which is the 2012 SS season special design will also be available at the end of October.
Ever since cuts of Seohyun and Sooyoung at the shooting set were revealed, there has been a huge interest and influx of inquiries from fans about the release of the main advertisement visuals.
Girls' Generation and Running Men Shop for Food
Girls’ Generation members will be showing off their hidden cooking skills.
Six members of Girls’ Generation, Yoona, Yuri, Taeyeon, Jessica, Hyoyeon, and Seohyun, will have a cooking battle preparing dinner on an upcoming episode of SBS’s “Running Man”, scheduled to be aired on September 9th.
Before the battle between Girls’ Generation members and the six Running Man members, each team traded one member to the other side. The cooking battle started after the switching of HaHa and Jessica.
Before cooking, HaHa and Taeyeon, and Gary and Jessica went to a market nearby to buy groceries. HaHa and Taeyeon called each other ‘BboongBboongee’ and ‘BboongSoonee’, and went around telling the market workers, “We’ll live well/happily,” acting like a happy newlywed couple.
HaHa then looked at Gary and Jessica and joked, “You’re the couple that lives downstairs from us, right?” The production crew said Gary caused laughter by replying, “We’re going to break up after eating.”
Jessica and Tiffany model for Cresyn headphones
Sponsored photos of SNSD members Jessica and Tiffany have been drawing plenty of attention from netizens. Pictured quite casually in Cresyn headphones, the girls are being noted for their barefaced and innocent beauty.
In contrast to the stage makeup they usually wear, the clean and minimal look they have in the sponsored pictures shows off their natural good looks.
Netizens commented, “They look so innocent,” “They look even better with less makeup,” “I wish they did this more often,” and “SNSD suits this makeup style very well.”
SNSD’s Jessica is devil-like to Japanese fans?
It has been revealed that Jessica of SNSD has been found to be ‘devil-like’ to some Japanese fans.
This shocking discovery has been made on cable channel Y-Star‘s ‘Goong Geum Ta‘ by asking roughly 200 Japanese tourists to rate the members of SNSD. Not only did the Japanese tourists know who they were but they knew all their names and their specialties (personality and what they’re most known for). It was amazing to see how popular and the vast knowledge the Japanese fans had of SNSD.
Out of all the reviews and feedback the members of SNSD received, Jessica’s interesting rating stands out the most. The reason being is that just like how Koreans think of Jessica as the ‘ice princess’ because of her cold image, Japanese fans view her as ‘devil-like’. A bit far fetched from what Koreans think, but nonetheless a similar concept. Note that ‘Devil-like’ isn’t a bad meaning in Japan. ‘Devil-like’ in Japan is the same as calling someone ‘fatally beautiful’ which doesn’t have a negative connotation but rather says she’s more like a femme fatale.
Jessica received 22% of votes claiming her title as ‘devil-like’, with this she placed 3rd as the most popular member of SNSD.
The #1 most popular SNSD member will be revealed on an upcoming episode of ‘Goong Geum Ta’.
SNSD’s comeback causes a delay in the comeback of other artists
SNSD’s delayed comeback didn’t just upset fans; it’s also thrown the comeback plans of other artists into complete disarray.
Many had planned their comeback dates to avoid being overshadowed by SNSD, but now that the date’s up in the air, they all confessed that they have to re-adjust their schedules.
A representative of one artist who was originally scheduled to make a comeback at the end of this month said, “With SNSD suddenly delaying their comeback, we’re all worried about whether it will overlap with ours. It’s more beneficial for us on the digital charts, and gives us the chance to make headlines if there was a two week gap between their comeback and ours. It seems we’ll just have to set another date.”
Another representative added, “SNSD has made a lot of achievements overseas, and since it’s their first Korean comeback in a while, they will surely gain a lot of headlines. We’re trying to set a comeback date away from theirs, so we’re all keeping our ears open for a final date.”
There are rumors that SNSD has set their comeback for the third week of October, but SM Entertainment has yet to confirm. All of their interviews and comeback stages originally scheduled for the first week of October have been postponed.
