Girls’ Generation wins #1 + Performances from the January 24th episode of ‘M! Countdown’!

Mnet’s “M! Countdown” is back with another spectacular episode chock-full of exciting performances!

Competing for the #1 spot, it was a hot battle between Girls’ Generation and CNBLUE, but in the end, it was Girls’ Generation who clinched the win tonight with “I Got a Boy“!

Seohyun is blacklisted at US airports

Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun confessed that she was blacklisted at airports in the United States.

On the episode of MBC’s ‘Golden Fishery—Radio Star’ that aired on January 23, the Girls’ Generation maknae revealed that she got into trouble because of cherry tomatoes.

Seohyun shared, “Before the flight, I packed some cherry tomatoes to eat on the airplane and I forgot to check them on the customs declaration form. The security dogs smelled it, so I got caught.”

She continued, They asked me what I had in my bag and I told them they were cherry tomatoes. The guard got extremely angry at me and he wrote my name on their blacklist. I think you stay on that list for a couple of years or something.”

Seohyun is blacklisted at customs because of cherry tomatoes?

Girls’ Generation‘s Seohyun confessed she was blacklisted at customs because of cherry tomatoes.

On ‘Radio Star‘, she was asked, “Does Seohyun still eat a lot of sweet potatoes?“ Kyuhyun answered instead and said, “I know Seohyun eats a lot. Once we went overseas, and Seohyun got caught by customs. We were all worried. She even paid 300,000 KRW (approximately $280 USD) in fines. It was all because of cherry tomatoes.”

Seohyun explained, “To be honest, I packed it to eat as a snack on the airplane. On the customs forms, you have to check that you have food, but I checked ‘no’ and fell asleep. I forgot that I had tomatoes in my bag. The security dogs smelled it, so I got caught. I got blacklisted, so every time I go to America, they check if I have tomatoes or other food. I think you stay on that list for a couple of years or something.“

Girls’ Generation asked about their changing looks on ‘Radio Star’

Girls’ Generation brought laughter as they did their best cooperating with one another to make sure they would not fall victim to the frank questions thrown at them by the ‘Radio Star‘ MCs.

As the show and the MCs are well known for being quite direct and aggressive with their questions, the girls worked together to steer the topic of discussion as the MCs brought up the subject about the girls looking different now than in their music video for “Dancing Queen“, which was shot 4 years ago.

Before the MCs could fully finish their question, Yuri was quick to speak, commenting, “But if you watch it again…” At her hurried comment, her fellow members as well as the MCs laughed and pointed out, “Why is Yuri stopping us from talking?”

Yuri became flustered but continued with her comment, stating, “It’s the same concept as when ‘Gee‘ came out“. Yoo Se Yoon answered back, “We’re not talking about how things look the same, we’re talking about things looking different,” once again trying to steer back to the original topic about the members’ looks having changed since 4 years ago.

However, Jessica lent her team a hand as she once again diverted away from the topic by commenting, “It was when we were really babies.” Yoo Se Yoon exclaimed, “I’m not saying you looked like babies!“.

The members remarked “This is not easy” as they laughed and once again tried to interfere with the determined Yoo Se Yoon by chiming in, “We look the same as when we did for ‘Gee’“, causing Yoo Se Yoon to explode: “We’re not talking about the ‘Gee’ period! We’re saying you look different from ‘I Got A Boy‘!“, bringing the whole studio to laughter and eventually moving onto a different subject.

Kyuhyun chooses Seohyun as the member that’s closest to his ideal type in Girls’ Generation

Kyuhyun explained why Seohyun was the closest to his ideal type out of the Girls’ Generationmembers on ‘Radio Star‘.

On the show, the MCs asked the ladies of Girls’ Generation how long has it been since they debuted and the ladies answered about 5 or 6 years. The MC’s then asked, “Since it’s been about 5-6 years since Girls’ Generation debuted. By now, don’t you know how to date without getting caught?” Hyoyeonthen quickly quipped, “We want to learn how from Kyuhyun oppa“. This caused Kyuhyun to get embarrassed and say, “Up until now, I have never dated.” The MC’s then asked the girls, “Since all the girls have gathered here, which member dated Kyuhyun?“. Jessica immediately pointed to Seohyun, and Hyoyeon said, “Did Kyuhyun make up the rumors?“.

The girls teased Kyuhyun saying, “You like Seohyun, don’t you?” MC Yoon Jong Shin also shared the story, “One time I got Kyuhyun drunk and asked him who his ideal type was and he slurred ‘Ah Seohyun…’“. Kyuhyun got more embarrassed and blurted, “Don’t say such baseless things!”

The other members also brought up the scandal of their skinship stating, “They even did skinship!” and “If it’s Kyuhyun, we can hand Seohyun over“. They were referring back to the skinship betwen Seohyun and Kyuhyun at SMTOWN in NYC at Madison Square Garden back in late 2011.

The ‘skinship’ happened on stage, and Seohyun explained, “Kyuhyun is just a close oppa“. Kyuhyun also clarified, “All the Girls’ Generation members are my dongsaengs, and I’ve never seen them as women. I’m told every time to pick one since we’re in the same company. Out of them, I just chose Seohyun as the one closest to my ideal type.”

Sooyoung states she saw Won Bin at a restaurant before on ‘Radio Star’

Sooyoung talked about her scandal with Won Bin on the January 23rd installment of MBC‘ ‘Radio Star‘.

On the show, the MCs stated to Sooyoung, “When Girls’ Generation was invited to ‘Radio Star’, we thought Sooyoung wouldn’t be here, but you’re here. Are you mentally prepared?“, alluding to her scandal.

Sooyoung answered, “To be honest, I was just happy that my name was grouped together with such a top star. It was fun, and I thought it was cute that there were rumors.” The MC’s then joked, “Cute, you thought Won Bin was cute?“, which caused the entire studio to burst into laughter.

Yoon Jong Shin said, “I think Won Bin’s label handled it improperly. They jumped up and said that he didn’t even know who the Girls’ Generation members were.” Sooyoung replied, “I went up on search terms and when the news articles came out, people said, ‘Why would a God date a human’? I’m also my mom’s precious daughter…“.

On Won Bin, she said, “Once, I went to the bathroom at a restaurant, and he was there. So I told my mom, ‘There’s Won Bin outside’, and we were really surprised. I couldn’t even pretend to know him because I’ve never seen him before.”

The MC’s then said we have a photo of Won Bin meeting Sooyoung before and they brought out a photo. The photo was actually of Won Bin swimming as Sooyoung in Korean means swimming, which made the entire studio burst in laughter once again.

Girls’ Generation reveal they attempted to watch porn before

Jessica confessed that Girls’ Generation tried to watch porn once.

The girls were guests on the January 23rd episode of ‘Radio Star‘. On the show, they were asked, “Do women talk about perverted things too?“. Jessica answered, “In some foreign countries, if you turn on the TV, porn is accessible.” She turned to Sunny and said, “We even tried to watch some, right?“.

Hyoyeon then chimed in stating, “But we couldn’t. I heard that it comes out on the history (hotel bill) afterwards.” Jessica said, “We even thought about whose room to use. I think it was Seohyun‘s room.”

At this, Seohyun expressed her frustration toward her unnis, causing the studio to burst into laughter.
