MBC to produce special comeback show for Girls’ Generation

MBC will be airing a special show in January 2013 to commemorate Girls’ Generation’s comeback.

According to some individuals in the broadcasting industry, MBC is currently in preparation for a special broadcast for Girls’ Generation, who are preparing for their comeback in January next year.

On December 11th, OSEN was told, “While MBC is preparing for Girls’ Generation’s comeback show, the details on the broadcast as well as the actual date have not been confirmed. However, it is known to be scheduled for broadcast some time in January.”

In preparation for the special broadcast on Girls’ Generation’s comeback, MBC has already set up the ‘comeback broadcast team’ since last month. The special broadcast program is an independent program and it will not be broadcasted as part of the music program ‘Show! Music Core’. Typically, whenever popular artists make their comebacks, they will be given about 10 minutes on music programs but it is a rare case for artists to have an independent comeback broadcast like what MBC is preparing to do for Girls’ Generation’s upcoming comeback.

This is indeed the reflection of the great interest shown towards Girls’ Generation’s comeback. Meanwhile, ever since the release of their 3rd album ‘The Boys’ on October 19th, 2011, Girls’ Generation had been focusing on unit group (TTS)’s activities, individual activities as well as promoting their new releases in Japan. The girls are currently preparing for their 4th Korean album which is scheduled for release in January 2013.

Earlier this year, Girls’ Generation’s first Japanese album was also certified by the RIAJ for shipping over one million albums.

Meanwhile, Girls’ Generation will be starting their second arena tour in Japan in February of 2013.
