[News] SNSD ranks second on Daily Oricon Chart with ‘Gee’

SNSD, also known as Shoujo Jidai, recently ranked 2nd on the Japanese Oricon Charts for their second Japanese single, ‘Gee‘.

‘Gee’ nabbed a second in the Daily Oricon Charts on the day of release (October 20th), marking the best achievement that any overseas girl group has accomplished in the Japanese market thus far.

SNSD was also placed 5th on the charts for their first single ‘Genie‘ back in September, which subsequently attained the ‘Gold Disc‘ certificate after selling over 400,000 copies since its release. It quickly became the best ever selling album by any overseas girl group promoting in Japan.

Meanwhile, SNSD are set to make a surprise comeback this coming 27th with their new 3rd mini-album ‘Hoot‘, and are scheduled to promote activities simultaneously in both Korea and Japan.
