Girls' Generation also break into the chart + 2NE1 set new record for a Kpop album on Billboard 200

Girls' Generation and 2NE1 are both continuing to achieve new feats and getting Kpop out into the world as they enter the Billboard 200 chart beating out the previous record for a Kpop album. But it was 2NE1 who grabbed the title of being the new record holder.

Entering the Billboard 200 is quite a feat as it's known as the definitive chart for album sales in the United States.

TaeTiSeo's 'Twinkle' set the record for a Kpop album by coming in at #126 on the chart back in 2012. The three members of the unit are now joined by the rest of their members as Girls' Generation came in at #110 on the chart for the week ending March 2, according to Billboard.

However, it was 2NE1 that put their name on the record as the highest charting Kpop album on the Billboard 200 as they have come in at #61.

In addition to Billboard 200, all of 2NE1's new tracks ranked in the top 40 on Billboard's K-Pop Hot 100 chart with "Come Back Home" at #2. They also ranked #5 with the song on the World Digital Songs chart.

Girls' Generation also left their mark at #5 on the K-Pop Hot 100 chart and #4 on the World Digital Songs Chart with "Mr.Mr".

It's no wonder that these two are the top two Kpop girl groups in the scene with feats such as these! For all the numbers and details, check out the Billboard posts here and here. Congrats to both groups!
