Girls’ Generation has achieved the top spot on Forbes Korea’s Power Celebrity Top 40 list for 2014. After placing second behind PSY last year, the girls have regained the first place ranking they had been awarded in 2012 and 2011. Forbes Korea selects its Power Celebrity Top 40 list from 100 of the year’s most prominent Korean celebrities and ranks them according to income, influence, reputation, and professionalism.
The announcement came shortly after the girls’ February 24th digital release of “Mr.Mr.“, their fourth mini album and first Korean comeback since 2013′s “I Got A Boy”. Within a day of “Mr.Mr.” hitting music sites worldwide, the mini album managed to gain an all-kill on the Korean music charts and became the top-selling album on iTunes for 11 countries. After this strong start to the year, Girls’ Generation will begin their “Mr.Mr.” promotions with a comeback stage on Mnet’s “M!Countdown” on March 6th.
