'Surreal' different Girls' Generation single set for June release in Japan

Girls’ Generation will release a single titled “Paparazzi” on June 27 in Japan.

The promotional video was released in Japan recently and featured the girls in trench coats being chased by the paparazzi.

The song is described as “surreal,” and somewhat different from the girl group’s trademark vibrant sound.

This month, the girls have been busy performing for U.S. fans. On May 20, the band toured with fellow agency members like Super Junior, SHINee and BoA at SM Town’s third world tour in Los Angeles.

More than 12,000 American fans turned up to see the show, including Hollywood music producers and entertainers.

The next day, the band again joined forces with other K-pop acts like Super Junior and Wonder Girls among others, to perform at Google’s headquarters near San Jose, California, to coincide with YouTube’s seventh birthday. The show was co-hosted by Google and MBC and streamed live on YouTube.
