SNSD ranked #1 on an online survey of idols to have the most influence in leading the K-Pop Boom or Hallyu Wave.
This national online survey was conducted from October 7th to 14th on a movie site "Max Movie". The survey asked “Which idol has had the biggest influence and contributed the most to the K-Pop Boom?”
SNSD received a whooping 1,008 votes out of total 1,681 votes (60%) and claimed the first spot with a significant lead. DBSK ranked second with 193 votes (11.5%), third place was Super Junior with 160 votes (9.5%), Wonder Girls is on the fourth place with 96 votes (5.7%) while KARA is in fifth with 77 votes (4.6%).
Some fans who voted SNSD left comments, "I think with SNSD’s success in other Asian countries, they would have to be the most influential" and "SNSD was the oil that was added to the very small Hallyu fire."
