Girl group SNSD has been selected by the Korean government to become the official face of tourism for the country.
Management agency SM Entertainment commented, “The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has entrusted SNSD to become the official endorsers for 2010-2012. They will become officiated during a ceremony on August 19th at the Lotte Hotel in Song-Gong district.”
A representative from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism stated, “K-Pop has become a global topic these days. We chose SNSD, who is leading Hallyu, and we believe that they’ll be able to create a high amount of interest for tourism.”
Current endorsers include well-known names such as figure skater Kim Yuna, actor Bae Yong Joon, and cartoon character Pororo the Little Penguin.
