SNSD received 4th Gold Disc Certificates


According to Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ), SNSD’s ‘New Beginning of Girls’ Generation‘Commemorative DVD has successfully obtained the Gold Disc Certificate.
Gold Disc Certificates are given as acknowledgement by the association to albums selling more than 100,000 copies. The DVD was released in August last year, ahead of SNSD’s Japanese debut. It has been 6 months since their debut and SNSD are enjoying great success in Japan.
This is SNSD’s 4th consecutive Gold Disc Certificates after their Japanese debut. Previously, SNSD’s First Japanese Debut Single ‘Genie’, 2nd Japanese Single ‘Gee’ and Licensed 3rd Mini Album ‘Hoot’ sold more than 100,000 copies respectively and each of these albums had been certified Gold by RIAJ.
SNSD who recently released their new Japanese single ‘Run Devil Run’ are expected to release their 3rd Japanese Single soon and proceed with their Japanese activities.
Meanwhile, their sunbaes, TVXQ’s ‘Why? (Keep Your Head Down)’ has been awarded Platinum by RIAJ. In Japan, it sold more than 250,000 copies to date.
