Girls’ Generation to release live concert album on Dec 30


Girls' Generation will release their first live concert album this week, according to their agency SM Entertainment.

SM announced in a press release today that Girls’ Generation’s live album titled “The 1st ASIA TOUR CONCERT - Into the New World,” which contains contents from their show last year on December 19 and 20 held at Seoul's Olympic Park Fencing Stadium, is set for release on Thursday.

"The 1st ASIA TOUR CONCERT - Into the New World" record is composed of two albums, featuring 38 of their hit songs including their individual performances.

It will also include two bonus tracks titled "Beautiful Girls," which was used as the background music during their concert, and the re-recorded version of "Singin' In The Rain."

Composed of members Taeyeon, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Sunny, Jessica, Seohyun, Yoona, Yuri and Sooyoung, Girls' Generation made their debut in 2007 with first album "Into the New World." They have since released several albums which include their hit songs "Gee," "Genie" and "Run Devil Run."

They have led a busy year in 2010, being named the winner of the grand prize at Korea’s Gold Disk Award, winning the title of artist of the year award at 2010 MelOn Music Award and being voted as singer of the year by major survey firm Gallup Korea.

The girls have also enjoyed success in Japan since making their official debut in August, becoming the first Korean girl group to place in at No.1 on the prestigious Oricon chart and having sold over 100,000 copies of their Japanese singles “Gee” and “Genie” to be certified gold discs.

Girls' Generation are currently busy preparing for the year-end awards ceremonies for both Korea and Japan.
