SNSD’s 2nd Japanese Single “Gee” have achieved an accumulative sales exceeding 100,000 copies, emulating the success of their Debut Single “Genie”.
Released on October 20th, “Gee” was ranked 5th on the latest Oricon Weekly Singles Chart, maintaining their Top 5 ranking for the third consecutive week.
On the third week of its release, “Gee” recorded sales of 13,320 copies which took the tally to a total of 102,881 copies. Compared to “Genie” which broke the 100,000 copies mark in 8 weeks, “Gee” took only 3 weeks to surpass that mark.
Such explosive sales is the proof of the girls’ massive popularity in Japan and it is by far the best achievement by a Korean girl group in Japan.
