[NEWS] Soshi Barbies to melt your hearts in October!


The MV teaser of SNSD’s 2nd Japanese Single “Gee” was released today, October 1st.

Universal Music Japan released the 31-second MV teaser via their official YouTube channel.

In the Japanese version of “Gee” MV teaser, SNSD transformed into cute barbie dolls which will definitely capture and melt the hearts of the Japanese fans. The Korean version of the song which was released in 2009 featured the girls as mannequins in the MV.

Fans who have watched the MV commented, “They’re really pretty. They are goddesses”, “Looks like they have undergone more upgrades than the times when they’re doing the Korean activities” and “Come on! No.1 spot for “Gee” on Oricon”.

Meanwhile, the girls’ Debut Single “Genie” continues to do well in the Japanese market where 75,276 copies were sold within 3 weeks. With such sales volume, the girls managed to stay within the top 10 of the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart for 3 consecutive weeks. With such trend, “Genie” is set to reach the targeted sales of 100,000 copies soon.

With the release of 2nd Single “Gee” on October 20th, sales for “Genie” is expected to enjoy an upward trend.

“Gee” was a big hit in Korea in 2009, winning various prestigious awards. Can SNSD emulate the explosive success in Japan? (SHOUT:OF COURSE!). Here’s the 31-second MV teaser. Sweetness to the max! Don’t you think so?
