[News] 'Korean-Style' Hot Pants a Dengue Risk, Thai Girls Warned
The Thai government has advised against wearing hot pants amidst an outbreak of dengue fever that has claimed over 100 lives so far.
With the immense popularity of Korean girl groups, the fashion style of wearing hot pants is being widely imitated by girls in Thailand, but the Thai government said soaring popularity of hot pants is one of the reasons behind the spread of dengue fever.
This year alone, 90,000 cases of dengue fever have been reported in Thailand. As the disease is spread by virus-carrying mosquitoes, exposing legs to their bite can be dangerous, it said.
