Girls’ Generation members reveal how the rumors about Sooyoung and Won Bin started

On the January 17th broadcast of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Happy Together‘, Girls’ Generation‘s Hyoyeon andYoonA discussed the behind-the-scenes story of Sooyoung‘s recent ‘scandal’ with Won Bin.

Hyoyeon shared, “Sooyoung did a [screen]capture. She sent a text that read, ‘I got into a scandal with Won Bin. Isn’t it funny?’”, revealing Sooyoung’s first reaction to the news when it broke out. But after the scandal became the #1 most searched headline and started to become more serious, “Sooyoung suffered a bit emotionally,” Hyoyeon said.

YoonA also explained how the rumors came about surprising the other guests and MCs on set. “Won Bin oppa had been photographed going for a swim, so a post titled ‘Won Bin sooyoung’ ['sooyoung' also means 'swimming' in Korean] came up, and netizens thought that ‘Sooyoung’ was referring to Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung,” she explained.

‘Happy Together 3′ takes the #1 spot for Thursday variety shows

‘Happy Together 3‘ has once again reclaimed the #1 spot in its time slot with the latest episode.

The episode on the 17th was a ‘Dancing Queens’ special, and featured Girls’ Generation‘s YoonA,Hyoyeon, Yuri, Tiffany, and soloists Kim Wan Sun and Baek Ji Young. The show as filled with laughter as the ladies talked about their ‘scandals’ and how they responded to each of them and also showcasing their dance moves as well as sharing favorite late night dishes.

The variety show brought in a 9.8% rating to rank first, a 0.1% more than last week, and beat out the second half of the Yoo Joon Sang episode of ’Knee Drop Guru‘ with 7.4%, and ‘Honey‘ with 6.3%.

Girls’ Generation listed on Fuse’s Most Anticipated Albums of 2013

Psy and Girls’ Generation were recently included on Fuse TV‘s ‘Fuse’s 44 Most Anticipated Albums of 2013‘ list, showcasing their overwhelming popularity worldwide.

On their selection of Girls’ Generation, Fuse TV commented:

“The group is in talks with Interscope Records to release an American version of their latest Korean album though a date, title, and track details are undecided. If a nine-member Korean group making it in the U.S. sounds like a stretch remember two members are from America! Yet we think most will react like David Letterman — with nine women writhing in front of them, he looked like he could barely control himself!”

On their selection of Psy, Fuse TV commented:

“He has global appeal now, but Psy has expressed he wants to release his new single in Korean with an accompanying dance featuring “some sports move”. The K-pop veteran has said he wants a solo comeback single to prove he can have similar success as “Gangnam Style” without the help of another big name. Can he deliver a song that crosses language barriers…AGAIN?!”

The music video for Girls’ Generation’s “I Got A Boy” recently surpassed the 30 million view mark onYouTube within the short span of two weeks. Meanwhile, Psy is currently working on releasing his next album featuring both Korean and English tracks this coming February or March.

Hyoyeon reveals she was the most popular when she was a trainee

Hyoyeon confessed that she was the most popular when she was a trainee.

YoonA, Yuri, Tiffany, and Hyoyeon were guests on ‘Happy Together 3‘ that aired on January 17th. During the show, Hyoyeon was asked, “When was your best time period?“. She answered, “I don’t know if I had one. I was popular only when I was a trainee.”

YoonA confirmed, “Hyoyeon was the celebrity of all the trainees. She had fans even when she was a trainee“.

Hyoyeon continued, “I debuted after going through a long training period, but I wasn’t as popular as I was when I was a trainee. I told myself there was nothing wrong with my abilities.” She was then asked, “What do you think was the problem?“, and Hyoyeon gestured to her face, causing everyone to laugh.

YoonA and Hyoyeon’s dish ‘I Curry Boy’ becomes the 20th menu item on ‘Happy Together 3′

Girls’ Generation‘s dish, ‘I Curry Boy‘ became the 20th menu item on ‘Happy Together 3‘.

YoonA and Hyoyeon teamed up together to introduce ‘I Curry Boy’, a dish where they broke up the traditional kimbap and used curry powder as a spice to make fried rice. The menu consists merely curry powder, water, and kimbap. The kimbap are broken apart in a frying pan, and then fried with curry and water.

YoonA explained that the dish was derived from kimbap because they had a lady who always made them kimbap to eat as they came and went from their dorms. One day, they had gotten hungry and noticed they had curry powder, so they decided to mix it up and ended up making a delicious dish.

The menu gained great reviews from everyone in the panel and from the guests, earning it the privilege of becoming the 20th recorded dish on the menu of ‘Happy Together’.

YoonA says she was shocked when she heard about her scandal with Psy

YoonA talked about her scandal with Psy.

YoonA was a guest on the January 17th episode of ‘Happy Together 3‘. On the show, the subject of her “secret affair” with Psy that was reported by a Hong Kong Newspaper was brought up.

She said, “I couldn’t believe it. I felt so bad for Psy and his wife. If it was a normal scandal, I could have dealt with it, but I was so shocked because he was rumored to be cheating on his wife even though he has a family.”

She explained, “While I was filming ‘Running Man‘, someone took a photo of me and the camera PD who apparently looks like Psy oppa, and then used that photo to make it look like we were dating but they don’t even look alike. If I knew his number, I would have sent a text message to Psy oppa.” When asked about how she discovered the new, she said, “I learned about the news while I was in Japan, and when I came back to Korea, there were reporters waiting in the airport. I thought about doing the horse dance in front of them, but I figured that might make the rumors even worse, so I contained myself“, causing the others to laugh.
