SNSD prepared a special Christmas event for fans though MBC program ‘SNSD’s Christmas Fairy Tale‘. It will air on December 24 at 12:20KST.

SBS confirms lineup for '2011 Gayo Daejun'



Following the announcement of MBC's lineup for its year-end festival, SBS has revealed the confirmed lineup for their upcoming "2011 Korean Music Festival" (Gayo Daejun).

The event, which will take place on December 29th at the KINTEX in Ilsan, will be participated with many of the most popular K-Pop idols including Super Junior, Girls' Generation, TVXQ, Wonder Girls, B2ST, 4minute, f(x), G.NA, U-Kiss, INFINITE, A Pink, KARA, CNBLUE, T-ara, IU, Lee Seunggi, Kim Hyun Joong, Brown Eyed Girls, Teen Top and Dal Shabet.

SBS is also planning to hold various special stages. An official revealed, "We are preparing for a 'Hallyu' concept stage for the festival, so expect many artists' joint stages during the show."

However, the official MCs for the show has not been confirmed yet since Super Junior's Heechul, who has been one of the main MC for the event for last 2 years, has entered the military and currently serving his country as a public personnel.

Who are the top earners in Girls' Generation?


Girls’ Generation are undeniably the top advertisement models in the entertainment world this year but among the nine girls, who earned the most?

On December 22nd at 9pm KST, a corner of cable channel, tvN’s entertainment information programme, ‘enews’ titled ‘Most Watched News’ will be focusing on the girls’ individual incomes.

Along with Lee SeungGi, Girls’ Generation was recently selected as the best advertisement models in 2011. The secret behind it is none other than the fact that the group itself is well-loved by people from all age groups. Due to the girls’ various unique personalities, they have been constantly receiving offers to promote different products.

Among the nine members, Jessica and Tiffany were both ranked 4th in terms of individual incomes. With their participation in musicals ‘Legally Blonde’ (Jessica) and ‘FAME’ (Tiffany), they were paid about 3 million Won in performance fees per show. From 10 shows, the total performance fees would be about 30 million Won each.

Taeyeon, who has the most outstanding singing ability, came in 3rd. She was also a radio DJ and acted in the musical ‘Midnight Sun’. From her radio appearances, she received a fee of 400,000 Won per show. Thus, after two years, the total fee collected summed up to 288 million Won. For her musical appearances, she earned a further amount of about 30 million Won.

In 2nd place, it is none other than the maknae, Seohyun. Seohyun’s composed and trustworthy image is a favorite among advertisers. The appearance fee for rising stars in cosmetic products’ advertisement is around 100-200 million Won per advertisement. If Seohyun was paid 200 million Won per advertisement, she would have received an estimated fee of 400 million Won for two advertisements filmed.

Who among the remaining 5 members (YuriSunnyYoonASooyoung and Hyoyeon) earns the most in Girls’ Generation? The member who reaped in an estimated income of about 3 billion Won will be revealed at 9pm KST on December 22nd’s edition of ‘enews’.

Girls' Generation to charm with a special concert on MBC this Christmas!


Girls’ Generation has prepared an unprecedented Christmas concert, showing off their fresh looks and charms.
On the midnight of December 25th, the ‘Girls’ Generation’s Christmas Fairytale’ held with 700 audiences will be broadcasted on MBC.
On the day of recording, Taeyeon transformed into ‘Queen of Snow’ and performed ‘Oh Holy Night’, a sorrowful carol song. Sooyoung’s Latin dance performance ‘Cha-Cha-Cha’ was revealed for the first time and became a hot topic among fans.
Moreover, Jessica transformed into ‘Sleeping Beauty’, singing a jazz song ‘When you wish upon a star’ with her unique style. Seohyun and Yuri put up a performance with charms that were unseen of, giving the fans a real surprise. The members also put up a ‘Hit songs parade’ by singing carol versions of title songs like ‘The Boys’ and ‘Kissing you’.
Besides this, Girls’ Generation also paid visit to soldiers of the army at the frontline. By adding a special stage with Sung Sikyung, as well as Jessica’s duet stage with SHINee’s Onew, audience will have more anticipation for this concert.
‘Girls’ Generation’s Christmas Fairytale’ will be aired for 90 minutes on December 25th at 12.20am KST.

'Gee' and 'Mr. Taxi' charted on the Top 10 of Japan's 2011 Ringtone Ranking!


On December 21st, the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) released the ’2011 Ringtone Ranking’. Based on the chart, among Korean singers, only Girls’ Generation and Kara were ranked within the top 20 positions.
Girls’ Generation’s ‘Gee’ was ranked 7th and ‘Mr.Taxi’ took the no.10 spot. Kara’s ‘Mister’ and ‘Go Go Summer’ were ranked 6th and 11th respectively. Besides the two songs in the top 10 positions, Girls’ Generation’s ‘Run Devil Run’ was also placed at no.71.

Fans sent 2,441kg of congratulatory rice for Tiffany's musical debut IN "FAME'!


Girls’ Generation and Tiffany’s fans from various countries have donated a total of 2,441kg of congratulatory rice in conjunction with Tiffany’s first performance for the musical ‘FAME’ on December 21st at the Olympic Park.
To congratulate Tiffany’s debut in musical, fans, not only from Korea but foreign countries, have sent 2,441 kg of congratulatory rice. J-SONE JAPAN has sent 801kg while Japanese fansite sosipen.net has sent 500kg. Tiffany House & SONEs from Taiwan has sent 300kg while China and Hong Kong have each sent 100kg. 620kg were sent by Korean fans, with 20kg from anonymous senders.
The staff from the musical ‘FAME’ stated, “Fans from both Korea and foreign countries have requested for us to receive their congratulatory rice since last month, but we couldn’t accept all of them because we did not have enough space. The musical ‘FAME’ has received a total of 8,546kg of congratulatory rice, not only from Tiffany’s fans, but also fans of EunHyuk, JungMo and Lina. This is, so far, the most congratulatory rice a musical has received.”
After the musical ends, the congratulatory rice they have received will be donated to those in need.
‘FAME’, a story of youths’ dreams and goals, will be performed until January 29th.
