Fans Celebrate Yuri's Birthday with Newspaper Advertisement
December 5th, 2011 is Girls’ Generation member Yuri’s 22nd or 23rd birthday. (Editor’s note: Yuri is 22 according to her Western age, and is 23 according to her Korean age)
To show their happiness and celebrate, Girls’ Generation’s samchon/oppa fan cafe “Cistus” released an advertisement in a newspaper.
In the advertisement, the fans wrote, “We all pray that Girls’ Generation’s Yuri, who SONEs will always love, is always healthy and happy.”
Twitter users worldwide also celebrated Yuri’s birthday, as “Kwon Yuri” trended worldwide at sixth place.
Girls' Generation attends fan signing for "J.Estina"
Girls' Generation members attended a fan signing event on December 4th at the Lotte Department store in Sogongdong, Seoul.
The girls are working as models for the fashion brand J.Estina, and the event is exclusively prepared for the fans to meet the Girls' Generation members. Lucky customers, who purchased handbags and jewelries between November 25th and November 30th, were randomly selected through lottery draw had a chance to meet their idols.
SNSD attends fan signing event for 'J.Estina'
On December 4th, fashion brand J.Estina held a fan-signing event with SNSD at the company’s main branch inside the Lotte Shopping Mall in Seoul.
The fan-signing with all nine members was an exclusive event, open only to customers who purchased handbags and other fancy goods between November 25th and November 30th. These customers in turn were selected from a random lottery drawing.
According to J.Estina representatives, ever since SNSD began endorsing their brand, SNSD-associated products (such as the YoonA backpack and the Seohyun bag) have been selling so well that they had to take reservation orders to supply the demand. The fan-signing was arranged as a way of saying thanks for the overwhelming support that the brand received from its customers.

Yahoo Japan ranks top 20 most searched foreign stars
The Japanese version of Yahoo recently listed its top 20 foreign search term of the past year, and has revealed that most of them are Korean pop stars.Next to solo artists Lady Gaga and Avril Lavigne, the whole top 20 consists of Korean artists. Starting of with Girls’ Generation on top of the list, KARA took a second spot. TVXQ came in a third place as most search foreign boy group and was closely followed by actor and occasional singer Jang Geunseuk. Lady Gaga closed the top 5 with her presence.Actress Kim Taehee is the odd one out in the list, as she’s the only person not known for a singing career.
