‘Banmal Song’ may not be released officially afterall

It seems that Seohyun and Jung Yonghwa’s ‘Banmal Song’ will not be released officially, despite huge demand and anticipation from fans.

The ‘Banmal Song’ was composed and sung by Seohyun and Yonghwa on MBC’s ‘We Got Married’. The music and the lyrics for the chorus was written by Yonghwa while Seohyun helped to complete some other parts of the lyrics. The couple uploaded the ‘Banmal Song’ video clip on Youtube and to date, it has recorded more than a million views.

However, despite its popularity, this song might not be released officially. On January 5th, CN BLUE’s agency told Newsen, “There will not be a duet. Even if CN BLUE plan to release it as their own song, the part of the lyrics Seohyun composed will not be included”.

The duet between the ‘couple’ is rather impossible at the moment in view of SNSD and CN BLUE’s activities. Nevertheless, there have been talks among netizens about the release of the ‘Banmal Song’ on various sites.

A representative in charge of MBC’s ‘We Got Married’ said, “The song was composed based on Yonghwa and Seohyun’s feeling of being in love. That is why the song is so meaningful to them”.

Meanwhile, on the episode of ‘We Got Married’ which will be aired on January 8th, Seohyun will be making a trip to Yonghwa’s hometown, Busan to meet his mother for the first time. During the meeting, the ‘mother-in-law’ mentioned some of Seohyun’s favorite, the seafood kimchi and fist-sized fermented bean paste stew. Make sure you catch the goguma couple on January 8th to find out their reactions.

New Album in the Works!

New Album in the Works!

Shortly after Hoot promotions, year-end shows, television show appearances, etc. there’s more in store for the girls. Starting off the new year with a bang, SNSD will be working in both Korea and Japan to prepare for performances and record a new song!

According to an SM Entertainment representative, “After last year’s year-end events, SNSD are currently taking a short break. In the middle of this month, SNSD will be in Korea for a week where they will be shooting a CF and recording a new song. Of course, the new album‘s date of release is yet to be decided. At the end of this month,25th and 26th of January, SNSD will be performing at the SM Town Live in Yoyogi Stadium, Tokyo alongside other SM Town artists.”

WOW talk about packed schedule! With rumors flying in about new company ads, possible world tours, etc. it’s safe to say that the Pink Tsunami won’t go away any time soon.

My 2-week long winter break doesn’t even seem that short anymore compared to the short rest these girls are getting. As much as the news are a treat for us Sones, I sincerely hope that the nine stay in good health. Make sure to check back on SnsdKorean on the new album, performances, CF, and SM Town!

The results were not surprising as SNSD and Kara’s achievements have surpassed many new artistes in Japan. However, unlike SNSD, MIWA and other new Japanese artistes, Kara were placed in the ‘Best 3 New Artists’ in western music category, alongside American popstar, Ke$ha.

SNSD who debuted in Japan on September 8th last year released their first debut single ‘Genie’ which recorded sales of over 100,000 copies and became the best-selling debut single released by a foreign female artiste. SNSD’s 2nd single ‘Gee’ had also recorded sales of more than 100,000 copies and due to these achievemnts, SNSD have received the Gold Certificates by RIAJ for both their single releases in 2010.

According to Oricon on January 7th, 500 members of the monthly-published Oricon Magazine have participated in a survey to determine the most promising artistes in 2011. The result went in favor of Kara and SNSD where they took the no.1 and no.2 spot respectively.

Oricon stated, “This year, Kara topped the list of the most promising artistes in 2011 while SNSD came in 2nd.The two groups (Kara and SNSD) have also managed to secure the top two spots on Oricon in terms of total music sales in the ‘Newcomers Category’ last year”.

It’s within their grasp!

It’s within their grasp!

World domination that is…

Now this isn’t necessarily news per se, but at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) taking place this instance in Las Vegas; Samsung, South Korea’s largest company is showcasing their latest range of gizmos and gadgets. So what does this have to do with SNSD and a global takeover you ask?

Well there’s this special relationship that SNSD have with Samsung, and currently running on massive screens at the CES Samsung booth, is HD footage of none other than our beloved nine.

But thats not all, Samsung’s new range of 3D LED TV’s on show also have clips of SNSD looping on them too:

SNSD can make any TV look good!

At the world’s largest technology-related trade show and in view of the industry’s biggest and best, as well as the world’s media, this is fantastic exposure for the girls, and will without doubt generate even further interest for those unfamiliar with Soshidom.

Unfortunately, CES is not open to the public and therefore most of us will probably not get a chance to witness the beauty of the girls on the latest standard of High Definition, but at least we know they are one step closer to taking over the world right?

Tidbit: That Samsung 3D LED TV is 75 inches!!! It makes me want to rip out the TV/monitor I’m using to write this post up, and throw it into the backyard..
