How Do SNSD Members Differentiate Their Shoes?

A photo under the title of 'How SNSD Members Differentiate Their Shoes' was recently posted through an internet portal site.

The photo showed Taeyeon with her foot raised during a performance. In the photo, 'Taeyeon' could be seen written in white on the bottom of her shoe. It seems as if the names of each member are written on the bottom of their shoes, as a way of making it easier for them to differentiate the identical shoes before performances.

Netizens left comments on the photo reading, "That's cute", and, "SNSD has showed off their wits."

SNSD Voted As 'Artist Of the Year' By Gallup Korea

Popular girl group SNSD has been chosen as the 'Artist Of the Year' by Gallup Korea for the second consecutive year.

Gallup Korea, a research enterprise, asked 3401 people, both men and women, 13-years old and older, 'Who is your favorite singer?'. 31.5% of the total votes went to SNSD, making it the second time they took the number on spot.

Their votes also ranged variously by ages. 43.2% was from voters who were under 20-years of age, 40.6% were in their 20s, 43.1% in their 30s, 33.0% in their 40s and 21.6% in their 50s. With this diversity, they also took the number one spot for the area on the 'singer liked by different age groups'. SNSD ranking in 1st amongst those under 20 to people in their 50s made it clear, once again, that they are 'Korea's singers'.

SNSD's latest single 'Hoot' and previously released 'Oh!' ranked in first and second respectively for 'Most Popular Song of 2010'. Last year, 'Gee' and 'Tell Me Your Wish (Genie)' also ranked in 1st and 2nd.

SNSD won the daesang at the Gold Disk Awards, the Artist of the Year award at the Melon Music Awards, and the trophy for the year-end KBS 'Music Bank' special two years in a row. The addition of becoming 'Artist Of the Year', also for the second year in a row, proves that it is truly the 'girls' golden age'.

Group member Tiffany will be returning after injuring her knee to perform on the 24th on Asahi Television's 'Music Station Superlive 2010'. She will also take part in the performance at MBC 'Music Core' on the 25th.

SNSD and KARA gained revenues of $15.4M USD and $10.3M USD respectively in Japan

KARA and SNSD have proved themselves to be the leaders of Korean girl groups in the Japanese market because of their tremendous achievements in sales.

According to Sankei Sports on December 20th, KARA and SNSD ranked as the 1st and 2nd place rookie artists respectively on the ‘43rd Oricon Annual Rankings 2010′.

KARA gained a revenue of over a whopping $15.4 million USD with eight albums, while SNSD earned $10.3 million USD through nine.

Additionally, on the rankings based on sales figures for songs, SNSD’s ‘Gee‘ and ‘Genie‘ placed 1st and 2nd place respectively, while KARA’s ‘Jumping‘ closely followed at 3rd.

KARA scores Platinum and Gold certifications from RIAJ, SNSD tallies two Gold

In the month of November, the RIAJ (Recording Industry Association of Japan) has certifiedKARA’s “Mister” as Platinum, KARA’s “Jumpin” as Gold, SNSD’s “Gee” as Gold, and SNSD’s “GENIE” as Gold in the “Chaku-Uta Full” section.

For reference, RIAJ certifies Platinum as 250,000 sales while Gold is 100,000 sales. Check out the image below from the official site!

The list of artists that will be attending include BoA, Super Junior, Girls' Generation, KARA, SE7EN, G-Dragon & T.O.P, 2PM, SHINee, 2NE1, BEAST, 4minute, MBLAQ, FT Island, CNBLUE, and miss A. We previously reported that Jo Kwon, Jung Yonghwa, Hwang Jung Eum, and Kim Heechul will be the MCs for this event.
