Girls' Generation Posts Strong Oricon Sales Numbers in the First Half of 2012!

On June 20th Oricon released their sales ranking numbers for the first half of 2012, and Girls’ Generation’s blu-ray and DVD sales placed in second and fourth in their respective categories.

The “Girls’ Generation First Japan Tour” DVD sold 148,718 copies to rank in fourth place. The blu-ray version sold around 56,000 copies to place in 2nd.

Also ranking in on Oricon’s sales chart was Girls’ Generation’s first Japanese album “Girls’ Generation”. The album placed in eleventh and sold a total of 209,679 copies in the first half of 2012. The album was released over a year ago on June 1st, 2011.

Seohyun apologizes for accidentally bumping into Taeyeon on stage

On the June 20th episode of SBS‘ ‘One Night of TV Entertainment‘, Girls’ Generation‘s Seohyunapologized for accidentally bumping into leader Taeyeon with her elbow during their promotional activities as sub-unit Taetiseo.

Fans even made captures of the accident during one of Taetiseo’s live performances, and photos of Taeyeon looking surprised became a hot topic.

Seohyun responded, “My elbows are really long and pointy. I’m sorry for slightly bumping [Taeyeon] unni. My fans even gave me elbow pads as a gift. I will definitely use them,” evoking laughter with her hilarious apology.

Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung couldn’t hide her jealousy towards Ji Hyun Woo’s public love confession to actress Yoo In Na.

On the June 20th broadcast of SBS ‘One Night Of TV Entertainment’, Sooyoung, who serves as the MC of the show, shared her thoughts on Ji Hyun Woo’s confession.

She honestly said, “I’m so jealous. All that’s left is for her to receive lots of love.”

Co-host Yoo Do Hyun then ask Sooyoung, “If you received a public confession, what will you do?”, giving the singer some options like “Follow your heart”, “Call your parents” or “Call your agency”.

Sooyoung straightforwardly replied, “I would just accept.” A panel member then jokingly confessed his feelings for her to which she quickly replied, “I will accept it depending on who it is”, evoking laughter to everyone.

A set of pictorials showing off Girls’ Generation’s feminine sense have garnered huge attention among fans and netizens.

Recently, Girls’ Generation participated in a pictorial shoot for the 79th issue of fashion magazine ‘High Cut’. In the photos, the members were seen in romantic dresses and wavy hairstyles with goddess-like poses, which reminds one of fairies in the woods. These lovely little sisters, who are Korea’s representative on the international stages, have suddenly grown into beautiful, matured women overflowing with sense of femininity.

Shinhwa’s Minwoo dubbed Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon as the next BoA

With Girls’ Generation‘s Hyoyeon gaining more and more spotlight through ‘Dancing with the Stars 2‘, the show will be airing audition videos of the singer as well as testimonies by her fellow artists about the popular girl group member.

When asked about a girl group he’s keeping an eye on during a recent interview, Minwoo praised, “I’m a Girls’ Generation fan. Seohyun encourages all to visit the UN Pavilion at the 2012 Yeosu Expo

Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun, the goodwill ambassador for the UN Pavilion, visited the venue of the 2012 Yeosu Expo on June 20th. After having a tour around the UN Pavilion, Seohyun had a small fan signing event with 10 lucky visitors who were selected based on random draws.

Seohyun said, “Today is United Nation’s World Refugee Day. The UN Pavilion is a place where one could actually experience the situation and crisis that the world is facing.” She urged the public, “Not only the children, everyone regardless of sex and age, please come and visit the UN Pavilion.”

She added, “If we could spare some time, I would like to visit each of the pavilion with the members,” expressing her interest in the 2012 Yeosu Expo.

Girls Generation‘s Tiffany confessed her love for heels when she revealed one of her secrets to the golden proportions she has been praised for.

On June 20th’s broadcast of SBS‘s ’One Night of TV Entertainment‘, popular sub-unit group of Girls Generation, TaeTiSeo, made an appearance and discussed various topics.

One topic they talked about was Tiffany and her perfect “5:3:2 ratio” of  her thighs, calves, and her ankles, that brings out her beautifully shaped legs.

When Taeyeon asked, “What is the fashion item that will help enhance your leg line?” Tiffany answered, “Heels. Even when I wear sneakers, I enjoy the ones that have heels.”
