Sooyoung debuted as MC on 'Midnight TV Entertainment'


On June 6th, Yoon DoHyun and Sooyoung had successfully made their debut as MCs on SBS ‘Midnight TV Entertainment’.

The participation of Sooyoung and Yoon DoHyun as MCs for SBS ‘Midnight TV Entertainment’ was announced through a press conference held on June 1st. Yoon DoHyun said, “I made this decision very carefully. Since I will be talking about others, I think I will be very careful. When there is a happy event, I will also be happy, and when there is a bad event, I will be sad. I think it will be interesting.”

Despite being their first live broadcast, Sooyoung and Yoon DoHyun have impressed viewers through their sensible comments as well as their smooth and natural MC-ing skills, with no significant and obvious mistakes.

After completing the live broadcast successfully, Sooyoung commented “I’ve been always watching the show on TV in the living room, but now I am the one who introduce the topics. So, I felt it was different and fun. I will work hard and try my very best to convey accurate news”.

Preview of Sooyoung's cameo on 'A Gentleman's Dignity' revealed


SBS has released official preview still cuts of Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung from her cameo on “A Gentleman’s Dignity”.

As previously reported, Sooyoung will be making a cameo appearance on the 5th episode of “A Gentleman’s Dignity” which will broadcast on June 9. She makes an appearance on the drama because of her friendship with actor Kim Min Jong. 

A representative of the drama’s production stated, “Sooyoung’s appearance was met with a passionate response from the staff, and they went wild. Also, the acting chemistry between Sooyoung and Kim Min Jong will provide fresh new fun for the audience.”

Girls’ Generation & Big Bang continue to dominate the CF market

There have been a number of celebrities who have dominated the CF market, shooting a wide variety of CFs for different corporations. But the top advertisement model status for the past year went to none other than Girls’ Generation.
According to Korea’s largest advertisement information site TV CF, Girls’ Generation had made appearances in 26 CFs since June 5th of last year. The total number takes into consideration CFs filmed by a single member, as well as the CFs the girls filmed as an entire group.
2nd place went to popular idol group Big Bang. For the past year, the boys have filmed a total of 24 CFs including endorsements for Sunny10Naver Music App, and more. Idol groups such as Big Bang and Girls’ Generation are usually the top choices for corporations when it comes to selecting advertisement models.
In third place was actress Kim Tae Hee who endorses ElastineBlacksmithFrench Café, and more, while actor Kim Soo Hyun, who to rose to fame after taking on a role in hit drama series ‘Moon That Embraces The Sun‘ came in fourth place.
Actor Won Bin who filmed 20+ CFs in the last year for K2MaximTOP, LG Cinema 3D SmartTV, and more came in 5th place. Girls’ Generation member YoonA who also filmed 20 CFs tied for fifth place. In addition to filming CFs with her fellow group members, YoonA is also an independent model for brands such as Innisfree.
The nation’s favorite figure skater Kim Yuna and multi-talented star Lee Seung Gi each filmed 17 CFs in the past year and tied for 7th place, while actor Gong Yoo and JYJ member Yoochun who each filmed 16 CFs in the past year both came in 10th place.

Sooyoung and Yoon Do Hyun wrap up first broadcast as hosts of ‘One Night of TV Entertainment’


Girls’ Generation‘s Sooyoung and YB‘s Yoon Do Hyun wrapped up their first episode as the new hosts of SBS‘ ‘One Night of TV Entertainment‘.
The two have already commented on their thoughts about hosting before the program aired, and on the June 6th broadcast, they made their introductory messages to viewers.
Sooyoung stated, “I didn’t need to be asked twice to host the show. I’ll do my best to report accurate news,” while Yoon Do Hyun commented, “It was hard for me to decide. I couldn’t help but be careful because it involves listening to people’s stories. [I'll approach it with the thought that] when there’s good news, I’ll be there to be happy with you, and when there’s bad news, I’ll be sad with you.”
Both MCs are reported to have completed the broadcast smoothly.

Girls' Generation Appears in the Most Advertisements Over the Past Year


On June 6th, it was reported by Korea’s largest advertisement information site, TV CF, that the celebrity with the most CF appearances over the past year (since June 5th, 2011) is Girls’ Generation with a total of 26 CFs. This includes CFs that all the group members were in as well as ones that individual members were in.

Representative advertisements include LOOK, Eider, Ace Beds, and Lotte Department Store sale ads. Girls’ Generation’s Yoona was in fifth place by herself, as she also appeared 20 CFs, the same amount as Won Bin. Not only has Yoona appeared in CFs with her members, but she also appeared in Innisfree ads alone, which caused her to be ranked in the higher end of the chart.

SM Entertainment Releases Music Video for Girls' Generation - TTS's 'OMG'!



SM Entertainment has just released a new music video for “OMG (Oh My God)”, a track from Girls’ Generation – TTS’s “Twinkle” mini-album. While the music video does not feature the girls themselves, it does however play out a compilation of the subunit’s various concept pictures for “Twinkle” through multiple diverse transitions.
Promotions for “Twinkle” concluded last Monday on June 3rd, with the group fulfilling their final performance on SBS’s “Inkigayo”. While the subunit has finally ended its promotions, some of the other Girls’ Generation members are still carrying out their solo activities. Sunny and Hyoyeon are currently fixed guests on KBS’s “Invincible Youth 2″, with the latter competing in “Dancing With The Stars II”. Sooyoung is also busy with filming for her new drama, “The 3rd Hospital”, which will air on South Korea’s television network, “tvN”.
With most of the Girls’ Generation members finally beginning to wrap up their individual activities, the group has begun to focus on their upcoming Japanese single, “PAPARAZZI”, which will be released on June 27th.
