‘Invincible Youth 2′ criticized for the way they treat their guests

KBS‘s ‘Invincible Youth 2‘ has been under much criticism by viewers after the May 5th broadcast. The episode was a ‘Children’s Day‘ special with guest appearances made by Brown Eyed Girls‘ Narshaand Girls’ Generation‘s Taeyeon.
The cast members and guests were split into two teams as they battled it out and played numerous games in celebration of ‘Childen’s Day’.
In the end, it was Narsha’s team (consisted of Kang Ji YoungYewon, and Narsha) that had to face the “great punishment” of feeding the hungry cow with the grass on their heads.
Narsha and Yewon were forced to sit on the chair in front of the cow as they awaited it to come and begin its meal. Shaking in fear, ‘adult-dol’ Narsha ended up crying as the cow had even pulled out a few strands of hair. She shouted, “The cow even pulled out my hair!” to which the cast members responded with laughter.
This wasn’t the only time guests on ‘Invincible Youth 2′ suffered from the punishment. CNBLUE‘sYonghwa and Jungshin had guested on the previous episode in which they also had to come face to face with the hungry cow. The cast members and guests were also split up into two teams and played a pot-picking game. Only one pot had the sauces for their crab soup and the other pots contained punishments, waiting for the unlucky member to suffer. The punishments were spraying water, red pepper power, or salt on their faces, or getting hit with a toy hammer.
Although the games were meant to be for entertainment purposes, viewers were upset and dissatisfied with the new format of the program. Netizens and viewers expressed their disappointment in the show by leaving comments on the homepage such as, “You guys invite guests, but this is what you do to them?“, “Since when has ‘Invincible Youth’ become a program that only plays games and have punishments at the end?“, “Spraying water was okay, but chili powder and salt is just too much“, and more.
Do you think the show went to far?
