Girls’ Generation, TVXQ, Super Junior, B2ST, and more to perform at Google headquarters

On May 21st at 6PM PST, Google will be hosting a concert at their Mountain View, California headquarters featuring performances by K-Pop’s reigning stars including SM Entertainment‘s Girls’ GenerationTVXQ, Super Junior as well as KARASISTARMBLAQB2ST, and the Wonder Girls. This event will broadcast through MBC and Google.
This will be the first time that a K-Pop concert will broadcast through not only a Korean channel, but through a major internet portal like Google, evidencing the rise of K-Pop’s popularity all over the world.
A representative of the event stated, “After hearing the news that Korean artists will be performing at the Google headquarters, curiosity has peaked even among the local event organizers. I think that previous performances by Korean artists were targeted towards Korean-Americans or the Koreans living abroad, but this time its appeal will spread to all fans of pop music in the US.”
In related news, SM artists will also be performing for their ‘SMTown Live‘ concert at the Honda Center in California on May 20th.

SM’s Yunho, Leeteuk, Seohyun, and Krystal model for ’1st Look’

For ‘1st Look‘ magazine, SM Entertainment labelmates got together for a special pictorial in time for the release of their new film, ‘I AM‘.
Each pictorial also features an in-depth interview with the stars, where TVXQ‘s Yunho in particular reveals his goals on how he wants to be remembered. He revealed, “I like resting, but I’m happier when I’m singing. Like my idol, Michael Jackson, I want to become a singer that is remembered forever, someone that can be a mentor for others.”
Super Junior‘s Leeteuk, who combined both masculine and chic looks for his style profile, expressed,“Behind the glitz and glam of the career of a celebrity lies a normal, Korean man, who is hungry for love and success.”
Girls’ Generation‘s Seohyun took the breath away of staff on set with her feminine yet powerful look. In her interview, she expressed, “My trainee days were fun and something to cherish because I made a lot of memories with my labelmate friends and unnis, memories that I wouldn’t be able to make at school. I’m both amazed and kind of shy that my trainee days will be revealed through ‘I AM’, but I think it will also be fun to share these with everyone.”
f(x)‘s Krystal showed off her own fashionable looks with a modern twist while also talking about her role in ‘High Kick 3‘, stating, “There are a lot of people that regard me as the same as my character, Ahn Soo Jung. I’m not like that, though. I may look cold on the outside, but I’m different once you get to know me. I’m just really shy.”

Behind the scenes with Taetiseo from their MV for “Twinkle”

Back on April 30th, the three beautiful ladies of Girls’ Generation‘s first sub-unit Taetiseo revealed their glamorous music video for title track “Twinkle“.
The girls have been topping charts, and have even racked up an outstanding number of views on their music video in just two days: 4.1 million and counting.
A special behind the scenes clip has just been revealed, beginning with introductions from Tiffany,Seohyun, and Taeyeon. Fans can also observe the making of the music video itself, including the solo sessions that were shot.

Seohyun appointed Goodwill Ambassador for UN Pavilion Yeosu Expo 2012



Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun has been officially appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Pavilion Yeosu Expo 2012.

On May 3rd, a representative in charge of the Expo 2012, which will be held starting May 12th stated, “Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun understands the purposes of UN Pavilion and is determined to show the significance of marine environment to the world. Therefore, she has accepted the role of a Goodwill Ambassador.”

The official appointment ceremony of Seohyun as the Goodwill Ambassador was held at end of March this year in the presence of UN Secretary-General Ban KiMoon, who was in Korea to attend the 2012 Nuclear Security Summit.

Ahead of the appointment ceremony, Seohyun who paid attention to the details of the UN Pavilion and its purposes said, “In order to spread the awareness on the importance of marine environment to more people, I shall channel more effort into it”, showing how prepared she was to take up the role.

Seohyun then added, “I’ve always wanted to be like my role model, the UN Secretary-General, Mr. Ban KiMoon whom I have the greatest respect for. It was even more meaningful to be able to receive the UN Pavilion Goodwill Ambassador appointment certificate directly from him.”

Following Seohyun’s appointment, Ban KiMoon said, “Through Seohyun’s activities as the Goodwill Ambassador, we hope that the awareness on the conservation and sustainability of ocean and marine environments could be instilled in students, youth and the public visiting the UN Pavilion.”

TaeTiSeo to debut on M! Countdown + twinkling selcas


Girls’ Generation‘s first-ever sub-unit TaeTiSeo has been receiving explosive response after releasing its debut mini-album “Twinkle”. SONEs will finally be able to see the unit makes its highly-anticipated music program debut today on Mnet’s M Countdown. 

TaeTiSeo will deliver their debut performance with title track “Twinkle” as well as the mid-tempo track “Baby Steps.” In addition, TaeTiSeo members Taeyeon, Tiffany and Seohyun shared multiple selcas to anticipate their performances tonight.

Ahead of TaeTiSeo’s promotional activity for their mini album ‘Twinkle’, Tiffany made an appearance on SBS ‘Strong Heart’ aired on May 1st.


On this episode of ‘Strong Heart’, in reply to the question, “Among Girls’ Generation members, who earns the most?”, Tiffany said, “As YoonA is involved with a lot of  individual activities like advertisements and dramas, I think she earns the most among us”.


Tiffany then added, “This time around, I will be involved in the promotional activities of Girls’ Generation’s 3-member unit, TaeTiSeo. So, I’m looking forward to see how it goes”, drawing laughters from everyone in the studio.
