Seohyun, HyunA, Sohee and more become eligible to vote

On April 11th, the 19th National Assembly Election took place in South Korea. As responsible citizens, a number of K-Pop idols were able to cast their votes for the first time.

The idol stars whose birthdays fall between June 3rd, 1991 and April 11th, 1993 will become eligible to vote this year. Girl group members that are voting for the first time this year include, Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun, Wonder Girls’ Sohee and Hyerim, 4minute’s HyunA, After School’s Nana, Lizzy and E-Young, Girl’s Day’s Yura and more.

For male groups, the first time voters include, SHINee’s Minho and Key, CNBLUE’s Jungshin and Minhyuk, B2ST’s Dongwoon, FT Island’s Jaejin, Seunghyun and Minhwan, B1A4’s CNU and Sandeul and more.

Sooyoung : Let's go out and vote!

Girls' Generation member Sooyoung conveyed a message to voters to encourage them to vote in the coming National Assembly Election which will be taking place on April 11th.

Sooyoung who went on MBC Radio’s ‘Son SukHee’s Spotlight’ aired on April 10th, encouraged voters to exercise their rights as she too, will be going out to vote on the election day tomorrow. Sooyoung said,“My father has been telling me that I must vote. Thus, I’ll be going with my family to cast my vote”.

Along with host Son SukHee and a professor from SungShin Women’s University, Sooyoung announced the polling sessions as well as other voting details to the voters through the radio programme.

Although Sooyoung who was born on February 10th, 1990 had cast her vote at the 2010 Local Election, this will be her first time voting at the General Election. Besides Sooyoung, come April 11th, among other stars who will be marking their ballot papers for the first time are maknae Seohyun, SHINee’s Key and MinHo, Beast’s Son DongWoon, miss A’s Min, Infinite’s SungYeol and L, etc.

As there are many stars who will not be having special schedules on the election day, there is a growing interest on how many stars actually turn up to cast their votes at the National Assembly Election this time.

Girls' Generation to form a sub-unit?

Rumors of Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon, Tiffany and Jessica forming Girls’ Generation’s first ever sub-unit have been spreading like wildfire in the K-Pop industry. It began to spin around various social networking services and other online communities.

The rumor sparked on April 11th from a message board of a music publishing company. The website posted, “Our music producer’s song has been confirmed for the album of Girls’ Generation’s unit (Taeyeon, Tiffany, Jessica) and we currently arranging it.” 

The music publishing company is well known for having strong ties with SM Entertainment and has worked with Girls’ Generation, SHINee, DBSK, and Super Junior.

In response, SM Entertainment stated on April 12th, “Nothing has been specifically confirmed yet,” neither denying nor confirming the rumor.

Seohyun and Hyoyeon wow with chic fashion at recent event!

Girls’ Generation members Hyoyeon and Seohyun made an appearance at a department store recently and they brightened up the room with their beauty.

On April 6th, Hyoyeon and Seohyun attended an open event that was held at the Lotte Department Store in Incheon International Airport.

Even though the two were dressed in a comfortable fashion, they made their presence known. Hyoyeon showed off a chic look by wearing an ethnic one-piece dress, matching it with a black rider jacket. Seohyun, as per usual, showed off an innocent student look wearing a pink jacket with skinny jeans. What particularly captured the attention of onlookers was Seohyun’s long and slim legs that were reflected in the mirror, even when wearing flat shoes.

Other than the Girls’ Generation members, actor Lee Jung Jin also attended the event.

Yuri reveals her habit during NG scenes

Girls’ Generation member Yuri, who is currently starring in the drama, ‘Fashion King,’ recently revealed her habit when she messes up (NG scenes).

An event was recently held where fans could come together and watch SBS’s drama ‘Fashion King’ at their studio.  Yuri was in attendance that day and spoke about how she reacts when she messes up a scene.

During the event, a fan asked if she has a reaction she does out of habit when she causes an NG, and Yuri said, “Unknowingly I say, ‘What do I do’ and stick my tongue out.”  Fans who heard this said, “Cute“, “I hope they show a compilation of her NGs“, and “It is because she is a rookie actress.”

She not only told the people how she reacts when she messes up but she also shared her most memorable line thus far.  Yuri said, “I can say it here right?  Everyone who came out her today, ‘Wipe your mouth,‘” which received a huge response from her fans.

After the event, Yuri said, “Thank you all for coming out to see and supporting me even with all the rain outside.  It was more fun watching the show with my fans.  Today was a great day because of all of you.”

Sooyoung Interviewed on Son Seokhee's 'Focus of Attention Radio'!

On April 10th, Sooyoung was interviewed on Son Seokhee’s “Focus of Attention Radio”, during which she took the chance to encourage voters in South Korea to participate in tomorrow’s general election. Sooyoung was also asked by Son Seokhee to explain the rules to follow when voting, in case any listeners weren’t aware.

This will the first general election in South Korea in which Sooyoung will be of legal voting age, and she said, “My dad said that I have to vote. I’m planning on going to vote with my family.” When discussing how this was Sooyoung’s first time voting, Son Seokhee also brought up school elections and asked if Sooyoung was ever student president, to which she answered, “No”.

Since the phone interview took place early in the morning, Son Seokhee asked Sooyoung if had any difficulty waking up early for the phone call. Sooyoung answered that it wasn’t a problem since she had to wake up for school, and said that in the past she listened to “Focus of Attention Radio” when riding in the car with her dad on the way to school, though she never expected to speak to Son Seokhee on the phone.

Sooyoung was also asked about her upcoming drama, “The 3rd Hospital“, revealing that there would be a “love square” between herself, Kim Seungwoo, Oh Jiho, and Kim Minjung. Sooyoung then mentioned that she is learning to play the viola, and that even though it is difficult because she has never played an instrument before, she is working hard to learn. She also asked listeners to tune into TVN to watch “The 3rd Hospital”, which is expected to begin airing in July of this year.
