Girls' Generation Wins a Sixth Music Bank K-Chart!


On December 2nd, Girls’ Generation once again faced off against the Wonder Girls and won the KBS Music Bank K-Chart with “The Boys”, making it their sixth win in a row. “The Boys” now holds the record for the third most consecutive wins on Music Bank, following “Gee” and Jewelry’s “One More Time”. In addition, since their nine week winning streak with “Gee”, Girls’ Generation is the only artist to win more than five consecutive Music Bank K-Charts in a row.
Despite having what was believed to be their goodbye stage two weeks ago, Girls’ Generation returned to Music Bank last week to continue their performances as they recorded their fifth win. The girls, adorned in the white outfits they also wore for the Mnet Asian Music Awards, came back for yet another performance of “The Boys” this week, delighting fans worldwide.
Girls’ Generation themselves expressed their happiness towards their sixth win, singing the fanchants for “The Boys” and calling for fans in the audience to cheer and make noise.

Details of 'Mr. Taxi' Version of Girls' Generation's Third Album Revealed!


Girls’ Generation will be releasing a second version of their third album, entitled “Mr. Taxi”, on December 8th, 2011. The album will contain thirteen tracks with the addition of the English version of “The Boys”. The “Mr. Taxi” track will be moved to the first track, and the Korean version of “The Boys” track moved to the second.
During their promotions for “The Boys” earlier this year, Girls’ Generation also performed “Mr. Taxi” wearing outfits reminiscent of police officers. With the unveiling of the album cover, fans were excited to see that the group chose similar outfits for the concept of the second version of their album. In addition, while the concept for “The Boys” consisted of a unique outfit for each member, “Mr. Taxi” features a return to identical outfits.
Twitter users quickly reacted to news of the upcoming album release and to the revealing of the album cover, as “Mr. Taxi” trended worldwide at number four.

'Girls' Generation' Yahoo Japan's most popular keyword among foreign celebrities!


‘Girls’ Generation’ is the most searched keyword based on Yahoo Japan’s ‘Famous Foreigners Ranking’.
Also, based on ’2011 Yahoo Japan Keyword Ranking’ (from January 1st to October 31st), the girls were ranked 3rd in the overall ranking among famous figures, behind AK848 and Arashi.
While Girls’ Generation came in 2nd in the ‘Famous Female Ranking’, the girls’ firm reputation as the famous foreign popstars and Hallyu stars put them on top of other big foreign names in the ‘Foreigners Category’. Kara who debuted before Girls’ Generation in Japan took the 2nd spot.
The results also served as an indication of the huge popularity of Kpop in Japan as most of the top 10 positions in the ‘Famous Foreigners Ranking’ were occupied by Korean artists.

Mr. Taxi Album Cover revealed!

Korean girl group Girls' Generation will release Mr. Taxi Album on the 8th of December.

As we all know, Mr Taxi already has two (2) versions which are Japanese and Korean and now they will officially release the Korean version of this song.

Let's look forward if this Korean version will be a big hit as the Japanese version.

In addition, Girls' Generation will perform their follow-up song later this week on various Music shows.
