Super Junior and SNSD to take part in 2011 Asia Song Festival

Super Junior, SNSD, and other groups will participate in the 2011 Asia Song Festival.

On August 24th, The Korea Foundation of International Culture Exchange announced, “Super Junior, SNSD, as well as the Japanese group, Perfume, Taiwanese singer / actor, Peter Ho, Zhou Bichang, and other performers will appear at the 2011 Asia Song Festival. The festival will take place at the Daegu Stadium on October 15th”.

Perfume is a Japanese techno-pop group that celebrated their 10th anniversary last November.

Peter Ho is a singer that sang the opening track – a remix of Baek Ji Young’s “Like Being Hit By A Bullet – for last year’s highest rated Taiwanese drama, “Summer’s Desire“. Zhou Bichang is a Chinese artist that topped album sales charts in China since her debut in 2005.

Other appearances will include Leo Ku, an artist who has released 35 albums with more than 9 million sales since his debut and Tata Young, a popular Thai singer who has sold more than 10 million albums

The 2nd and 3rd line up for the 2011 Asia Song Festival will be revealed next month.

SNSD's "HIKKUP" False alarm


Recently a video entitled ‘SNSD’s 3rd Album Demo Song Leaked’ emerged on YouTube. The demo song mentioned is none other than ‘HikkUp’ composed by Andrew Jackson and it was registered in SNSD’s list of songs with the Korea Music Copyright Association. The demo song was discovered by fans from Andrew Jackson’s MySpace site.

In response to this, SM Entertainment clarified, “This song will not be included in SNSD’s upcoming domestic album and it is not confirmed whether there is a plan to release it in the future”.

Upon the request of SM Entertainment, the video has been removed from YouTube. Due to growing anticipation and interest about SNSD’s upcoming comeback, of which the details have not been confirmed, fans have been looking and searching for information about overseas composers through Social Networking Services (SNS).

Stars attend Marc Jacobs’ 2011 F/W show in Seoul

On August 24th, a bevy of stars travelled to the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seoul to attend the Marc Jacobs F/W 2011 fashion show.

The celebrity guest-list included Kim Hyun Joo, Song Yoon Ah, Jang Yoon Ju, Gong Hyo Jin, Sung Yuri, G-Dragon, Sooyoung, YoonA, and many more.

The fashion points for Marc Jacobs’ F/W collection this year lay in pencil skirts that molded against one’s figure, polka dot patterns, latex, and lace. Check out the event photos below!

Season 2 of 'Dream High' is coming up soon


Popular series Dream High, which was aired early this year is making its Season Two.

Dream High was KBS 2TV’s Monday-Tuesday series and ranked 1st on the audience ratings at the time. Korean major entertainment companies, Keyeast and JYP, produced the show and drew many people’s attention. Idol stars Kim Soo Hyun, Suzy, Ok Taec Yeon, and Ham Eun Jung became more popular after the show.

The companies are currently preparing to produce the Season Two. SM Entertainment will also join the project.

On the 24th, an official said, “We are discussing right now and nothing is sure yet. We also didn’t decide the plot. We are thinking in a variety of ways.”

SNSD and Super Junior to attend 'Asia Song Festival'


Many celebrities from many Asian countries will attend the ’2011 Asia Song Festival’, including, Super Junior, SNSD, Japanese group Perfume, Taiwanese Peter Ho, and more. The festival will be held on October 15, in Daegu, Korea.

The festival officials released the first line up and confirmed several popular performers will perform during the festival. This is the eighth festival of the year and it invites singers and performers from all over Asia to help promote unity and friendship through out Asia.

KOFICE, which produced this year’s festival, said, “The festival will help celebrate the ‘IAAF World Championships’.” They will release the second and third line up in September.

JYP and SME to collaborate for "Dream High 2"?

SM Entertainment is rumored to have shown interest in joining KBS’s Dream High 2‘, the sequel to the hottest idol drama to date.

The first season was a successful collaborative effort between actor Bae Yong Joon’s company Key East Entertainment and JYP Entertainment. Now it looks like they’ll be joined by SM Entertainment, thanks to the good relations between the company presidents.

A KBS official stated, “SM President Kim Youngmin and JYP President Jung Wook are good friends. As far as I know, they’re both very interested in collaborating to make another great music-based drama. Both companies are willing to use all their resources in order have the best outcome possible, so it would be something to look forward to.”

Lee Eungbok PD of the original ‘Dream High’ series is currently working on the second season, and plans to air it in early 2012. Due to the first season’s high popularity, everyone is excited to see who will make up the main cast for season two. Now that SM Entertainment will supposedly thrown in their hat along with the other companies, netizens are already naming SM artists like TVXQ, SNSD, Super Junior, SHINee, and f(x) as possible cast members.

Meanwhile, ‘Dream High’ season one will be released through DVD on September 4th. Having enjoyed much popularity in Japan, the show will also have a special event at Japan’s Saitama Super Arena Hall called the ‘Dream High Premium Event 2011.’
