Girls' Generation's Yuri Praised by Netizens for 'Superior Genes'


Girls' Generation's Yuri was voted as the top 'WooYoo Girl' (a girl with superior genes) by college students.

A poll was held on a cosmetic surgery website from August 1st through the 9th, where Yuri received 194 (46%) of the total 421 votes from male and female college students. In second and third were Kim Sarang (105 votes, 24.9%) and fellow Girls' Generation member Seohyun (102 votes, 24.2%).

Yuri also garnered attention after revealing a 4-frame selca that looked like something out of a photoshoot.

SNSD's Sunny traumatized by surprising fireworks


SNSD's Sunny was traumatized by the sudden fireworks when SNSD performed on 6th August.

The fancam below shows that Sunny got a shock when the fireworks came off all of a sudden,she could not continue dancing for some time before she calmed down.

YoonA charms with 'Jeju Travel Diary'


YoonA’s recent photo shoot on Jeju Island was revealed.

YoonA went to Jeju Island for the publication of ‘Jeju Eco-Healing Travel’, which is a cooperated production with cosmetics brand ‘Innisfree’.

The ‘Jeju Eco-Healing Travel’ is a guide book published by ‘Innisfree’, which helps by purifying body and heart by providing travel tips on Jeju Island, covering areas like nature, people, food and accommodation.

At the same time, videos portraying YoonA’s ‘Jeju Travel Diary’ was released, revealing YoonA’s beautiful appearances. YoonA’s photo shooting scenes and her love for the island will be revealed in the special videos. The videos will be presented in 5 sections, which will be available on Innisfree’s Youtube channel.

Currently, the ‘O’Sulloc Tea Museum’, ‘Camellia Hill’ and other sections are already available. YoonA’s natural images as she enjoyed Jeju’s nature and sceneries received good responses from many people.

Sunny's phobia strikes again


During a performance on August 6th, Sunny’s traumatized and surprised image on stage, in reaction to the loud sound of the fireworks, attracted attention from fans.

Recently, a post titled “Sunny covering chest from shock at the sudden firework” was posted onto an online portal community, together with a video of the performance.

In the video recorded by fans, it was seen that Sunny got a shock from the fireworks that suddenly came off on the stage during their ‘Gee’ performance.

In the post, it was explained, “Because she was so shocked at the sudden fireworks, she could not follow the dance steps for a while”.

Fans who read the post felt very sorry for Sunny while netizens who watched the video commented, “Heard that she was traumatized by the fireworks, it looks like she really was” , “I feel sorry seeing her scared face” etc.

On the other hand, Sunny revealed on a variety show in 2009, that she is still afraid of sound of explosions until now, since her experience of the Gulf War while she was a baby.

SM Entertainment stunned the K-Pop world with this surprise MV teaser for SNSD’s new song, “Bad Girl“!

“Bad Girl” was originally included in SNSD’s first Japanese album, “Girls’ Generation“. The girls have been performing the song during their recent concerts and on some Japanese music programs, but this is the first confirmed sign that they’ll be promoting this song next.

SM Entertainment Releases SNSD “Bad Girl" MV Teaser


On the 9th of August, SM Entertainment gave SONEs a wonderful surprise by uploading a teaser of Girls’ Generation’s upcoming “Bad Girl” Music Video. The 23-seconds video definitely does its job of teasing as fans are treated to a small portion of what appears to be Girls’ Generation’s newest “Biker Girl” concept. Although not much is revealed in the short teaser, Girls’ Generation has definitely gotten their fans worked up into a frenzy.

The video starts off with Yoona arriving on a motorcycle, and is followed by Yuri and Sooyoung. Their new concept is truly intriguing as fans have never seen Girls’ Generation dressed up as biker girls before.



SNSD shows their love upon African children


United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Ban KiMoon, SNSD, as well as other Hallyu stars will be joining hands and working together to help African children.

The Korean Red Cross Society and Korean UNICEF committee will be launching the ‘Help African Children’ project at Seoul Plaza Hotel on August 12th.

According to Korean Red Cross Society on August 9th, the event will involve participation from UN Secretary-General Ban KiMoon, SNSD, f(x), SHINee and other SM Entertainment’s Hallyu stars, Korea’s national swimmer Park TaeHwan, marathoner Lee BongJoo, actors and actresses such as Kim YoonJin, Shin HyunJoon and other well-known Korean stars.

To kick off the campaign, Ban KiMoon’s message to request support for Africa is echoed through the slogan ‘Together For Africa’.

During the next 3 months, there will be donations and fund raising activities in support of the children of Africa, according to Red Cross representatives. About $5 million is expected to be raised from this campaign.

Through the funds raised, emergency relief activities could be carried out to help African children through the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement as well as UNICEF.
