Peruvian fans want "SM Town in Peru"

After Paris, Peruvian fans showed that they too can make their voices heard and they are dying to catch a glimpse of their beloved SM Town artistes.

About 4,000 Peruvian Kpop fans gathered in Lima, the capital city of Peru on July 3rd (KST), holding banners with captions like ‘SMTown in Peru’, etc to request for the SM Town Live World Tour concert to be held in Peru, South America.

Following that effort, on July 5th, a video was revealed through YouTube, showing how the Peruvian fans experienced the Korean food, dance, Taekwando and cultural activities. In addition to that, they also showcased their talents on stage, performing some of SM Town artistes’ biggest hits, as well as sending messages to cheer on their beloved idols.

Other than that, fans in Peru have also started petition campaigns on Twitter and Facebook.

Teenagers garner strength through SNSD's "Himnae" and IU's "Good Day"

On the first broadcast of Mnet Yoon DoHyun’s ‘Must’ on July 5th, the result of a survey entitled ‘Songs That Would definitely Give You Strength When You Are Tired’ was revealed. The 100 songs listed in the survey were selected through Gallup, Naver and me2day.

Songs from the earlier generations which could provide the listeners with strength after listening to them were also included, particularly In SoonI’s ‘Goose’s Dream’. ‘Goose’s Dream’ was ranked 1st in the 20-40s category, proving its popularity among the three generations of listeners.

G.O.D who were popular back in the 1990s with their hit song ‘One Candle’, received lots of loves from those in their teens to 30s.

Besides these, Im JaeBeom’s ‘For You’ and Hwang GyuYoung’s ‘I Have No Problem’ also garnered a lot of supports among those in the 20s to 40s while SNSD’s ‘Himnae’ and IU’s ‘Good Day’ received the highest points among those in the age group of 10-20 years old.

Mnet Yoon DoHyun’s ‘Must’ will be aired weekly on Tuesday at 11pm KST.

Photo of SNSD attending their manager’s wedding revealed

A photo of the ladies of SNSD attending their manager’s wedding was recently revealed to the public.

On July 5th, on an online community forum page, a picture of the SNSD girls surrounding their manager and his wife in wedding outfits was posted with the title, ‘SNSD in their manager’s wedding picture‘.

In the picture, SNSD wore outfits from their hit song, “Oh!“, and surrounded the newlywed couple while shaping hearts with their hands.

After seeing this picture, netizens commented, “As the wedding anthem, I think they would have sang, Oh!, I love you oppa“, “SNSD’s manager is very lucky“, “The manager seems happy“, and “I want SNSD to come to my wedding too“.

Meanwhile, SNSD recently revealed jacket cover photos for their first album in Japan.

"Gee" MV shown on Hallyu Wave News Story on ABC

In the latest example of the "Global Generation" effect, a short cut of Girls' Generation's "Gee" music video was shown on an ABC news story which aired in the San Francisco Bay Area. The story discussed the rise of South Korean culture and specifically the Hallyu Wave. The portion of the news piece showing Girls' Generation has been attached below.

With Taiwanese artists mentioning their friendship with Girls' Generation, two wins at the MTV VMAJ, and the roaring success of both SMTOWN LIVE in PARIS and the Japan arena tour, the reach of the "Global Generation" is continuing to expand.

SNSD’s solo MV’s for “HOOT” revealed

We previously reported that SM Entertainment would release a special DVD, All About Girls’ Generation “Paradise in Phuket” and included in this package was the music video for “ECHO.”

Additionally, we also mentioned that the individual solo MV’s for ‘Hoot‘ would also be included in this package and the solo MV’s have finally made their way online.
