Who's the most popular SNSD member in Europe?

SBS ‘One Night’s TV Entertainment’ aired on June 16th mentioned about ‘SM Town Live World Tour’ in Paris which was held on June 10th and 11th.

An uncle fan in Paris apparently caught the attention of the production staff who were filming the footages of the concert for the show. SNSD also talked about the memorable times they had in Paris. The girls said, “While we were sightseeing in the city, we met some fans by chance. The fans enthusiastically danced ‘Gee’ in front of us”.

In reply to the question of who among the girls, is the most popular in Europe, the girls replied, “It seems that Hyoyeon is very popular here”.

Taeyeon voted #1 Most-Wanted Idol on "Immortal Song 2"

In a survey of netizens, Taeyeon was chosen number one as the idol that fans most want to see on KBS's "Immortal Song 2". In the poll, which totalled 1,001 votes, Taeyeon received 45% of the vote.

JYJ's Junsu came in second with 21% of the vote, and was followed by 2AM's Jokwon and Big Bang's Taeyang.

This marks yet another strong example of Taeyeon's talents being recognized, as earlier this month she was featured in Elle's ranking of top Korean idols, and last month she topped two different polls (number one OST queen, and number one future idol mentor) and was also a nominee for Best Newcomer at The 5th Musical Awards.

MBC prepares an SM Town “Come to Play” special

Last week, MBC revealed that they would be broadcasting a “SM Town Live in Paris” special program. It looks like MBC has another treat for SM Town fans in the form of a ‘Hallyu special’ on “Come To Play“.

On June 16th, MBC’s “Come to Play” producers revealed, “On June 22nd, SM Entertainment artists will be joining us for the MBC’s “Yoo Jae Suk and Kim Won Hee’s Come to Play” Hallyu Special, which will take place at the MBC Dream Center in Ilsan.”

According to the producers, a total of 12 SM Town artists (TVXQ, four Super Junior members, four SNSD members, and two f(x) members) will be present for this special. It took much effort from the production crew to cast these artists who are popular not only at home, but all over the world.

MBC will be broadcasting a special program titled, “Hallyu, Crossing Over Asia, Into The World“, which will cover “SM Town Live in Paris” and the hot response to Korean singers internationally. The “Come to Play – SM Hallyu Special” is scheduled to be released around that date as well.

SNSD and KARA ranks in top 5 for Oricon’s karaoke chart

It looks like Japan loves to sing KARA and SNSD songs in the karaoke room!

On June 15th, the results for the most requested songs in Japanese karaoke rooms for the first half of 2011 were revealed through Japan’s Oricon homepage.

KARA’s ‘Mister‘ placed 2nd on the chart, while SNSD’s ‘Gee‘ placed 5th, once again proving the popularity of Korean girl groups in Japan.

Backstage video of SMTOWN Paris released

Although the recent ‘SMTOWN Live in Paris’, held on June 10th and 11at the Zenith, showcased the artists’ powerful performances and stage presence, the recently uploaded backstage video (below) showed the singers in a different light.

The video shows the artists trying to learn French, discussing who had the most popularity in Europe, the boys of Super Junior speaking out about their female drag costumes, and much more!

DBSK, SNSD, SHINee to Appear on 'Noleowa' SM Town Special

According to a source, SM Entertainment singers, including DBSK, SNSD, SHINee, and f(x), will film Yu Jaeseok and Kim Wonhee’s Noleowa SM Town special at MBC Dream Center on 22 June.

The source explained, “It is to hear the singers’ backstage stories and frank opinions on the K-pop boom in Europe after their concert in Paris.” Due to their schedule conflicts, all the singers may not participate in the filming, but a talk show with all the SME groups as guests is unprecedented.

It is expected they will talk about impressions of European fans in the concert and prospects on their debut in Europe.

East Coasters Flashmob for SM Town Live in NY

New York fans are organizing flashmobs to bring an SM Town live concert to East Coasters. They are meeting in front of Border’s located at Penn Station at 11 a.m. and then at Pulitzer Fountain located between Apple Store on 5th St. and Grand Army Plaza at 2 p.m., 6 July.
