SNSD’s first ever arena concert tour in Japan has recorded an astounding 300,000 ticket applicants, inspiring SM Entertainment to add three more concerts to the tour.
On April 27th, their official Japanese homepage was updated with information confirming that the girls will indeed be touring six cities for a total of 10 concerts.
Their arena tour will begin on May 31st and run through July 17th. The six cities include Tokyo, Osaka, Saitama, Hiroshima, Nagoya, and Fukuoka. With an estimated attendance figure of 100,000 expected, many are anticipative of the girls’ achievements over the next few months.
On April 28th, SM Entertainment revealed that tickets for their “SM Town Live in Paris” sold out completely within 15 minutes!
Representatives stated, “We opened tickets for sale on the morning of the 26th through Live Nationand Fnac. 15 minutes after the window opened, all seats were sold out, which definitely made us feel the popularity of our artists in Europe.”
They continued, “Our world tour has achieved much success in Seoul, L.A., Tokyo, and Shanghai, and we’re already receiving an explosive response from European music fans.”
“SM Town Live” will be held at the Le Zenith de Paris on June 10th.
Kpop artists are proving to be a strong force in the Japanese music market. Jang Geun Suk and SNSDhave secured the top two places in today’s Oricon daily singles charts.
Jang Geun Suk’s Japanese debut single “Let me cry” sold 56,923 copies which placed him first. This was above top idol group SNSD, who released their new single “MR. TAXI/ Run Devil Run.” SNSD sold 40,194 copies falling just short of Jang geun Suk at second place. Third place was Kobukurowho sold 16, 788 copies of their new single “Ano taiyo ga kono sekai wo terashi tsuzukeru yoni“. It is quite obvious that both Jang Geun Suk and SNSD have separated themselves from the rest of the pack.
Although this is only the first day of release, it is possible that we can have high expectations that both Jang geun Suk and SNSD are capable for taking the top spot in the Oricon weekly rankings.

SM Entertainment’s “SM TOWN LIVE in TOKYO SPECIAL EDITION” has been confirmed for September 3rd and 4th!
