SNSD’s Sunny and Yoona cheer on CSJH’s Sunday for Opera Star

On April 16th, SNSD members Yoona and Sunny made an appearance at the Sangmyung Art Center in Jongno-gu, Seoul to support CSJH’s Sunday during her competition on tvN’s “Opera Star 2011“.

The day before on April 15th, an official from tvN revealed, “To support CSJH’s Sunday, who revealed her hidden skills and talents as well as her surprising growth during the 2nd round of ‘Opera Star’, her SNSD hoobaes (juniors), Yoona and Sunny, will be making a direct appearance.”

Unfortunately, during the recording on the 16th, despite the support from the girls, Sunday was eliminated from the competition. Sunday and singer Moon Hee Ok ended up in the bottom two, and the judges chose to keep Moon Hee Ok alive for another week – sending Sunday home.

Despite being eliminated, Sunday kept her spirits high as she stated, “Even in the future, I want to learn classical and opera singing. I think this was a really great opportunity.”

Tei was the winner for the second week running.

SNSD’s Taeyeon almost pulled off stage during performance

On April 17th, SNSD was met with an unfortunate accident involving a male audience member who trespassed onto their stage at the “Angel Price Music Festival” at the Lotte World ice rink.

Towards the end of their performance of “Run Devil Run“, a male audience member intruded on their stage from the back and attempted to pull Taeyeon away by grabbing her wrist.

The other SNSD members were caught off-guard, but Sunny reacted quickest and tried to stop him but could not do so. The show’s host, comedian Oh Jung Tae managed to stop the man, and security staff intervened thereafter by apprehending the man and preventing any further accidents from occurring.

Audience members reportedly looked on with shock, and were further impressed with Taeyeon’s professional attitude in returning and performing until the end.

A representative of SM Entertainment stated after the incident, “During the latter part of the event, there was an unexpected accident. Taeyeon, however, handled the matter bravely, and security staff prevented the situation from becoming more severe. At first, the audience and concert representatives all thought that a staff member was going on stage. After the concert, SNSD returned back to their dorms and are currently resting. We’re glad that the incident did not escalate into something more severe.”

With footage and pictures of the incident spreading on the internet, netizens have been posting messages of protest against representatives of the concert.

Performances from MBC’s Korean Music Wave Concert in Bangkok

Korea’s top artists recently travelled to Bangkok, Thailand to perform at the ‘Thailand Hallyu Concert‘ in commemoration of MBC’s 50th anniversary, and on April 17th, MBC finally broadcast that concert.

With SNSD’s Tiffany & Yuri, and 2PM’s Nichkhun as MCs, artists who performed at the concert include TVXQ, SNSD, Wonder Girls, 2PM, SG Wannabe, T-ara, B2ST, Son Dambi, After School, Brown Eyed Girls, F.T Island, 4minute, Norazo, CNBLUE, MBLAQ, SISTAR, miss A, 2AM, andSecret.

2AM’s Jo Kwon and BEG’s Ga-In also held a joint performance as the “Adam Couple” from their “We Got Married” days. Fans who were disappointed in the couple’s withdrawal from the show were pleasantly surprised as the two performed their popular couple song, “We Fell in Love“.

In addition, 2PM and miss A collaborated for 2PM’s “10 Out Of 10′, while 4minute and B2ST joined together to perform “One Candle“.

The girls performed on Angel Price Music Festival and a mysterious suddenly grabbed TaeYeon by her arms when SNSD performed Run Devil Run on the stage.

Sunny was the first SNSD's member to spot the incident and she immediately tried to stop him from taking TaeYeon away.The matter was eventually solved and TaeYeon continued to perform Hoot and Gee.

Taeyeon Manhandled During Security Lapse at Angel Festival [Updated with Video]!

On 17th April 2011, Girls' Generation performed at the Angel Price Music Festival, organised jointly by Lotte World and Coupang.

During the event, an unfortunate incident happened, as the hired security was lax and did not perform up to standards. Near the end of the 'Run Devil Run' stage, Taeyeon was dragged off-stage by an unidentified individual. The other members were also caught unawares and tried to stop the man, to no avail. The event's host, comedian Oh Jungtae, managed to prevent the man from dragging Taeyeon away. According to fanaccounts, the man appeared from back-stage and was later detained and apprehended by security after the performance.

Despite the sudden and shocking circumstances, Taeyeon kept calm throughout and even reassured fans that she was alright after the incident was contained. The girls went on to continue to perform 'Hoot' and 'Gee' with smiles, showing their highly professional attitude. Leader Taeyeon in particular showed that she was not affected by the incident, with fantaken pictures and videos of her showing a bright smile in the subsequent performances.
