The story behind The One and Taeyeon’s relationship

The duet between SNSD’s Taeyeon and her vocal teacher and senior singer The One hit online music sites on November 17th.

The release of “Like A Star” caught the attention of many top stars, as it was produced by hitmaker Jo Young Su and a 50 member orchestra.

Representatives of The One stated, “We’re thankful for the interest. The song is a captivating combination, and we hope this duet track receives th econtinued love of the public. We’ll continue to release surprising duet tracks and create new trends.

SNSD on pace to become first female artist to surpass 300,000 sales mark in 2 years

9 member girl group SNSD / Girls’ Generation are on pace to pull off the incredible feat of compiling 300,000 total album sales in a single year in Korea. On the 16th, Hanteo revealed information that SNSD sold a total of 283,975 albums from January 1st to November 15th.

These albums include their second full length album “오! / Oh!” which was released back in January and sold 122,828 copies to date. The October release of their 3rd mini album “Hoot” has sold 79,858 copies to date and their 2nd repackaged album “Run Devil Run” which was released in March has sold 55,897 copies to date. In addition, their 2009 releases of both ‘Tell Me Your Wish (Genie)’ and‘Gee’ sold 5,231 and 5,040 copies respectively.

If the girls can move 16,000 more copies before the end of the year, SNSD would become the first artist in 2 years to surpass the 300,000 sales mark. The last artist to achieve this was TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki with their fourth album, “Mirotic.” This album had a sales mark of over 500,000 and what was even more impressive about TVXQ’s feat was that the sales were compiled from only a single album in addition to the album being released in late 2008 (September 26th).

Taeyeon for sale on Gmarket

Taeyeon for sale on Gmarketuser posted image

Recently, Gmarket users were shocked when they found out that Taeyeon was put up for sale on G-Market. Of course, it was just a ‘parody’, as some might have called it. This interesting piece of ‘parody’ has become a hot discussion subject among netizens.

Korean netizens had creatvely put up Taeyeon for ‘sale’ on Gmarket complete with information about the ‘product’. The ‘sale’ was put up by a user name 엄빠시카 (Omppasika) with a very high price, without a single Won of discount. Every purchase comes with insoles that would help the customer to exceed 1.60m. The ‘product’ received some reviews and comments:

*Sunny commented, “this product is weird. i actually bought it because of the gifts (the insoles) that came with the product, but the product went into the bathroom with the gifts and hasn’t come out. Do you mind giving me one more piece of the insole?”

*Tiffany said, “Because The product is cute, pretty and tiny, it really looks like a baby. The nickname “TtaeTtae” is good as it is easy to remember. Is there a device to change the language? I couldn’t understand anything as she speaks in her own dialect. Can I get an after-sale service?”

*Yuri said, “It’s not bad but I think this product is a pervert (byuntae). Originally, does it have the habit of looking at people’s backside? Once, I got out of the room to get a drink and I saw it watching Rated-19 videos in the living room. Because of this, I am worried and do not get enough sleep these days. Can I ask for a refund?”

Unlike others, *Jessica left a short comment, “It’s totally cute”.

Netizens who saw the “parody” commented:

-”100%, match perfectly”
-”I want to buy it”

*The comments are made by fans/netizens and they do not involve the opinions of any of the girls. Keep in mind that this is a ‘parody’ and ONLY meant for FUN.
